- PlayStation's mainstay racing game Gran Turismo is back. The GT7 trailer gave a glimpse into the game's customization, including its many other features including arcade missions, and its impressive visuals. The game is expected to release in March 2022.

I am praying for the rest of the "Original Circuits" to make a return besides High Speed Ring and Trial Mountain since they're already 100% in.

The amount of references to previous games is insane, enough to make a man cry
This game showcased everything i would want in a game and even other things that look incredible
It looks like real life
For me, every time they release a GT trailer it looks like ‘real’ life... but the game itself (although I still enjoy it) never seems to feel like a big jump forward from the previous games.
Hoping that changes here, but the sound of the engines and tire noises make me think I might be disappointed again.

The first sequence was very much gran turismo 1
and then when the porsche was showcased in changing seasons and weather, straight outta GT4
I loved GT5, GT6, and Sport. They were amazing showcases of what the console could do. But now i think we can really say that Gran Turismo, not just as a tech showcase, but as a racing game, as the soul of Sony console ownership is BACK!

Every car in Forza had the option to drive in car view. Every car in Forza let you apply your own paint job/racing colours. There was some very creative artwork.
Get a car in GT and finding only the bonnet view was available kinda sucked.
Now if only someone would do another Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero game.

I'm just hoping the PS4 version comes with all the bells and whistles the PS5 has. I won't mind having toned-down graphics and longer loading times as long as I can still play and enjoy the nostalgic GT features and additional content for the PS4.

Dude, this trailer is blowing me away every time I watch it. I honestly didn't think it would look this spectacular.
That first part with the leaves blowing on the track... That took me back to the 90s! I thought it was going to be a full recreation. Still, not disappointed. This game with classic soundtracks on Spotify, also with Grand Valley, Deep Forest and Trial Mountain plus PSVR2 will be absolute nostalgia heaven.
That GT1 intro awakened memories I had forgotten
So many nostalgic nods in this trailer. I am praying there will be more original circuits in the game come release.
I'm rather curious if customizing the car would play a part on aerodynamics or the way the car handles.
In the old games they had a specific aero section for customisable parts that impacted the handling.

It will, but only for Offline.
Online would be an unfair advantage for different cars are groups. Especially since now there’s a BoP (Balance of Performance) that marks out any gear tuning or customization on the car, making it run what the devs set it as a percentage for power and torque and the camber on the wheels etc. Plus there are those people out there who are lazy and doesn’t bother with racing games that have setups for the cars like ACC, if THAT didn’t have setups it would’ve been much more popular for sure, same for AC; so GT is the pick up and play and that’s what the majority prefer for console

But that they'd allow any customisations within the free lobbies online, you know the custom matches etc?

You can say anything about how PD does most things, but very few game development studios do the hype and trailer thing quite like they do.

I'm a PC and Switch player only these days. And even I know that when this releases, it will be the very best racing game anywhere.
It took them 9 years to make a comeback because forza been dropping back to back taking all the money. This game looks gorgeous tho. I like competition but forza been king of racers for the last decade plus..... 16 years to be exact.... nice to see them try and make a comeback tho it may be too late....

Gameplay…😢 cross-gen -> GT Sport, nothing more.
I’d like to be excited - but the tire screeching and engine noises feel like they haven’t changed since GT1... I just want good sound.. is it that much to ask for?
The biggest problem (for me) is that engine revving sounds unloaded ... ie recorded with free revving instead of under actual load - and the tire screeching sounds looped..
Bare in mind I loved playing GT back in the day and it was an amazing triumph of racing games... but I’ve been here for every GT release, and they always say it’s going to be amazing and everyone always says how great it looks, and then it comes looking like nothing more than an incremental step forward from previous games - super shiny and real looking, sure, but lifeless compared to other racing games. The cinematics are always great... but the in-car, less so.
For me it’s strange because on one hand it has the general driving / racing feel that other games don’t have - and the game feels like a winner from the UI alone.... but on the other hand if you impact with another car, or try to powerslide, (and don’t get me started about rally) I feel like I’m playing something that hasn’t changed since the first game. Surely they can improve on these things and yet based on the trailer, for the most part; they haven’t.
Is just gt sport with a reskin, even the water physics are non existent if you pay close attention, they still have some time to polish the game but I don’t expect them to add single player content like the OG gran turismos, is gonna be another multiplayer only game…..
That’s kind of the point really. Even creator of the series wanted gran turismo to be multiplayer game during 4 development but never worked as planned

Considering that you have been able to play GT online since 5, and GT Sport refined the online for the entire series, you can bet it'll have an online multiplayer component.

The only thing that would have made this better is for the music to be My Favourite Game by The Cardigans.
I had the Japanese version of GT1, as a kid... That OG Moon Over The Castle rendition is what I was expecting. Good thing is that with Spotify, you can have all of the old soundtracks, that's how I've played all these game since GT5 👍

SHITTTTT. This really is the only game that could ever get me to buy a PS5 realistically. So many fun times as a kid playing Gran Turismo 4. From getting my first F-Body Camaro to using the rubber band trick with the Escudo on Super Speedway. I was hoping they weren't going to take advantage new hardware but...glad they did. My wallet wont be happy, though.

Horizon Forbidden West looks amazing and they started developing most of these PS5 games that are on the PS4 as PS4 games first so I’m pretty sure it will look amazing
Honestly they should just let the ps4 versions be like the ps3 versions of black ops 3 and shadow of mordor. You don't deserve a good experience if you don't upgrade
@XSpeedyXITA that’s an excuse that’s getting dull now, there were people who could afford the PS4 so they can with the PS5, they just need a job. Bruce is right in the sorts of people actually WANTING to keep their PS4 only because this is coming to PS4, otherwise the rate for PS5 would’ve went up even more encouraging people to buy it which would be a win for both PD and Sony. Also the PERFORMANCE is what I’m mostly worried about because it can hold back the limitations or in game features GT7 might have for next gen. But Sony’s selfish attitude forced PD to make a PS4 version in a limited amount of time went god knows what the PS4 can and cannot do on a PS5 exclusive downgraded.

the only thing Forza can be better at is the track selection but that’s it.
After Forza 4 it has been on a slow constant decline when they were ahead of GT for popularity and sells and performance, gameplay. But GT has been on an incline ever since until GTS came out. It went up on the graph then like 3 months later it slowly went down; But it stayed on a medium going up and down then back up again then really plummeted when they introduced “The Penalty System.” Now GT7 will get the majority of its playerbase back let alone new ones, because they shouldn’t have ever made GTS and not execute it well.

I'm glad upgrades are back, I would like more depth than previous Gran Turismo games. I hope GT in the future gives closer depth to forza motorsport in Engine upgrades, separated by components and then NA, turbo, supercharger conversions with boost and timing adjustment, engine swaps. and also wheels, tires, wheel sizes and tire width and profile, compound etc linked to the racing classification, like real life
The problem with old GT games is older car were unfairly penalized, because tire width was unchangeable. Then GT sport seemed to just ignored tire width completely in their physics lol. I don't like either of those options, in real life the racing class equalizes Power to weight, tires, etc (or in GT that would be the race/lobby) E.G. So a 1960s or 1980s BMW would be running similar tire widths and compound to a 2021 Audi or anything of similar weight/class. Then Gran Turismo's tire physics wouldn't have to ignore tire width lmao, Or have the race biased and unfair
The problem with Forza motorsport, is it doesn't link Tires to the Race/lobby. So it's just a free for all mess lol
In this gran turismo sport you can upgrade engine etc but no engine swap but there option to choose difrent parts like gt wing, body kits, roll cage etc
Forza horizon feel like a fastfood restaurant, fast and fun.
While GT feel like a fine dinning. With some good wine and caviar.

if that were the case, i would be in. the gameplay for this game has always been pretty magical. i would like to see more interesting and sporadic driving from the AI though.
