I’m in Australia and even i know nothing about Manhattan is _Modest Means._ Why did she even try to go to a wedding she was specifically _not_ invited to. Sister or not, she was not invited.
'Wifey' material for (on the Farm) is quite different from representing the Family to high society. Private jokes among family are NOT the same if/when they become pubic! You might not have good taste, but never never NEVER prove to the public that you have poor to bad taste! Also do NOT disrespect (Publicly) family.
Her apartment has a view of Central Park. The Plaza is at the beginning of Central Park. It makes no sense to drive a car there. She could have walked or for a few dollars taken a taxi.
I have soooooo many questions but this one is worth it: if she lives in an apartment overlooking Central Park (either on Central Park West, Fifth Avenue, or even Central Park South - literally steps away from the Plaza Hotel) then why is she driving her car to the wedding? As someone who lives in NYC all my life, I would take a taxi or Uber to the Plaza! Driving from her apartment to the wedding at the Plaza would be a traffic nightmare no matter what time of the day. The writer could've just looked on Google Earth (because it's obvious that they don't live in the US) and mapped it out accordingly. 🤨
Very funny to disinvite the direct family - just pretend it was a mistake... but keeping up that disinvitation makes you the idiot! Serves them right to lose everything!
This is fake. The Fiance family could not have sued because because her sister and mother was bitcj to her. Second if his family where really that high up in medical field and shd was a such a prominent figure in that field at the very list he would have mentioned it to her sister. At public gathering of prominent people she would have seen her sister speak with other key know figure that where the movers and shakers
Invited by birth = FAMILY has to be included, as inlaws want to know, what their extended family now looks like. Our postal services are so bad now, my mom did not receive at least 3 important family-letters and several invoices (sometimes only the 3rd "remeberance" arrived at her place). So NOT attending the wedding venue would have been seen as spiteful of the working sister's "marriage to her work alone". She did everything right!
Oh, if life only worked this way. The wicked would get their's that fast. But alas, it doesn't. I still don't understand why she would show up at the wedding when she knew she wasn't invited. The hole in your story. Haha.
I'm sorry you had to experience such an upsetting situation. Being turned away at your own sister's wedding must have been incredibly hurtful. It's disappointing that a family event could lead to feelings of exclusion and embarrassment. I hope you can have an open conversation with your sister to address this situation and find some resolution. Family relationships can be complicated, but clear communication can often help mend wounds. Stay strong!
Agreed with most, why would op even show up to something she wasn't invited too even if a wedding. The wierd thing is how it glossed over the whole harassment
If your mother and sister didn't want you to go to the wedding, they should have opened their mouths and said so. There was no clear communication of yes or no. So I see why you went. There was no row or no contact with you from both of them so all I can see is that they both thought they were being clever and staging that stunt and people would all be on their side and laughing with them. Only people are not daft and can spot cruelty when it is dished out. And now it has bit them royally, and they both deserve it. The groom has good sense to know what kind of person he was going to marry, and as his family is old and well known and image is everything this just would not do. He wouldn't want his family name tarnished, and neither will his parents. As for your mother, she has always indulged your sister, and now she is living in the real world instead of reality. I wonder how it feels for her. And your sister she had it all and blew it all away, being selfish and self-absorbed. Now, the best she can do is try to eat humble pie and live a better life. The best thing you did was to cut them off. The letter, whether they were really sorry or hoping that you would help them back to their previous social scene, remains to be seen. But you have come on leaps and bounds and are moving forward. As they say, the sky is the limit. Or maybe not.
Me when I'm in a lying competition but my opponent is a reddit user :
i just treat these stories as some HFY. good fiction stories to be background noises lol
Sorry but any apt that has any kind of view of Central Park is not “of modest means.”
Agreed that is going to cost lots of $.
These stories are all BS!
It said "modestly sized". Not "modestly priced".
@@rmhartman Exactly!☺️
I mean, it is all relative isn't it?
If she kept her phone off, how did she know she was receiving messages from industry colleagues?
I’m in Australia and even i know nothing about Manhattan is _Modest Means._

At least the fiancé had the smarts to cancel the engagement/wedding on that day to her sister.

First sign that story is fake: too many details. Over brands, over weather, over place, over everything. So, good try, but still fake.
Pure fiction. Just change this from reddit stories to FICTION stories.
I enjoyed this story of comeuppance. Self sabotage at its finest
but you know it's fake, right?
Who goes to a wedding where they haven't been invited?
The writer must be named Icarus bc they overdid it with this one 😂

I certainly learned a lot about how beautiful Manhattan is

"...I'd invite you into my life and success...*but you're not on the List.*"
I con't comprehend a social circle where a Lexus is out of place

She didn't invite op so why show up, makes no sense to go. All op said should've done was said congratulations via a text to her and left it there
because it was her sister, if your brother/sister was getting married, would you expect to go?
No, I wouldn't.
Can someone explain how op could get notifications on her phone if she kept it powered off? I really want to know

Million likes is overstatement lol
This is the 3d story built on the same tale I've heard. Obviously a Made in China.
So she wasn't invited but you still showed up. 😮
That was my thought, why waste time going to something you weren't invited to!
@@valeriewilleto5583 - Stupid story.
Exactly. Lol she can't feel bad she wasn't in the lost when she knew she was in fact, not invited. 🤣🤣
lol you guys must be the mother and sister 😂

When fake it to ya make it goes wrong...
How did she receive text messages when her phone was turned off?
Well ... That escalated quickly.
This sounds so... far-fetched.

That wedding sounds really tacky. True class doesn’t flaunt it.
Money talks but wealth whispers.
@@nehcrum Right? You can always tell the difference between “old money” and “new money.”
They don't have to be realistic, but they have to be somewhat believable; I mean, come on!
Very unlikely story

For real. Did they not know this was going to happen? They don't think, do they?
Agreed with most, why would op even show up to something she wasn't invited too even if a wedding. The wierd thing is how it glossed over the whole harassment
But then the whole story relies on this. Another instance of poorly executed writing rather than a foolish sister.
Lady, you weren't invited. 😮
She sure likes her skyscrapers.
Obvious bullshit story 😂
This story ended at the 9 minute mark. The rest is fluff
Decent tv show ,reddit story tho no too over the top
