OP DE KOFFIE #2 - Shahab Azinmehr

Today I invite a great friend: Iranian musician Shahab Azinmehr. He is a great Tar and Setar player next to being an amazing singer and improvisor. Beauty, sensitivity, generosity, knowledge and skill. That's a winning cocktail if you ask me...
We start with a vocal introduction improvised on a poem of Persian Sufi poet Fakhreddin Araqi (1213-1289). Then we play Shahabs compositions Showqe Mastur and Sama.

"Op de koffie" means so much as "visiting for a cup of coffee" in my mother tongue, Dutch. In 2023, I will be inviting 27 people to meet in Studio Galinella, this wonderful place I share with some friends. We have fun together and play some music, connecting through the most beautiful language we have.
