OP DE KOFFIE #12 - Myrddin

Myrddin is one of a kind. A true artist, devoted to his art with a faith I have rarely encountered. There's something beautifully wild about this man, untamed but oh so refined and sensitive. His music is flamenco and it's not. Most of all, it reflects his life of searching, days, nights, wandering on the fretboard, on the strings, turning inwards and bringing all that out, more connected to nature than to anything else. His playing is intense, intuitive and skilled. If you can look behind the fast flow of notes, you will discover a warm hearted, gentle soul.
Few people have meant so much to me as a musician than Myrddin. In a moment that I had lost faith he believed in me and took me on the road, my first steps as a professional musician. I have learnt so much from him, but most of all, he gave me confidence and faith to pursue this path in music. What a blessing to have these sacred friendships.
We play two of Myrddins compositions, Vento and Ama.
As always do yourself the favour of listening with decent speakers or headphones not to miss out on the warmth of the bass sounds in Myrddins lower strings and my percussion.
"Op de koffie" means so much as "visiting for a cup of coffee" in my mother tongue, Dutch. In 2023, I will be inviting 27 people to meet in Studio Galinella, this wonderful place I share with some friends. We have fun together and play some music, connecting through the most beautiful language we have.

this is wonderful, no suprise. Myrddin, one of my 3 favorite artists. There is no 1, 2, 3, Myrddin, Narciso Yepes and Gentle Giant (more than one artist!) So beyond anything, anytime... Thank you Robbe! I so love the vid with his father, Mr. Koen de Cauter (Zingt Gazelle) and his sons, and also the vid with Myrdinn's daughter, Miss Imre... so much love there

Hi Robbe! Good afternoon, I started listening to Myrddin this afternoon, the magician of the Belgian flamenco guitar! He is a wonderful being, I have walked through his videos in search of his guitar and his dasein, he is a very sincere, simple man, who is there for all of us, it is wonderful through you to find him and now to find Koen de cauter in a beautiful combination of poetry and flamenco guitar! abrazo
