Yanique is gorgeous!! Seems like a great person to hang with. And I have been following her on IG for a while. It's great putting a face to a name. Looking forward to visiting that market!!
Postcards pastries peppers and a pretty puppers who wants pets. Positively pleasant portrayal of a popular Parisian pastime. Props to the producer. 🇫🇷✌️😎👾
@@JaySwanson Be careful with that! You act like you've got one foot on the dock, and one foot on the ferry deck (which has started its engines) (and has started to pull out of port) (in Mayreau) the way yer openin' that thing. LOL :)
Lots to love about this post: I love how the pup did a double-take like, “Are you filming me, Bro?!” ; the beautiful new, glossy postcards; and the sweet treat of meeting Yanique! Thank you, Jay🙂
I have a theory that dogs mark good humans so that other dogs can recognize the endorsement. Same way a hobo (tramp, traveler) marked a good house, during the Great Depression of the 1930's. ;)
Oh wow! You took us to my favourite Marche` d'Olive! I love their fish counter where they sell enormous cooked langoustines/prawns. It's a great place to pick up a variety of food for a picnic down on the canal or river. The area around that market is so lively and different to touristy Paris.
The March` d'Olive is in a fairly new building….about 10 years old - used to be outside with covered stalls for years whilst they built it. It is quiet but I just love it and all the shops around it.
Happy V Day Jay! Monique is so sweet! We Think Jay needs a dog! It is so obvious, based on your immediate reaction to all the dogs u meet in your vlogs! Gustav would have a friend too! Yes a dog for Jay! 😏😎🐕🐩🐶🐕
Great Vlog YAY!!!!!! finally a French Friday Thank You Thank You!! :-)) More please I really miss them. I also loved Yanique she seems really sweet and funny I subscribed to her channel and her website.
You certainly have some wonderful and interesting friends. It was a joy "meeting" Yanique. Thank her for all of us. After you've seen some many of the museums, etc, the quotidiana present a whole new level of engagement, the markets are right along the top, especially if you cook. I think you went through the "bird and flower" market a few episodes ago, the name escapes me at present. Also, when you snapped the invader, I saw the blobby fellow below it, sometimes that artist signs his work, "Gzup" as I recall. He's not in invader's league.
Sounds like you should check out the other, very similar, covered markets in Paris. Marché Saint Quentin and Marché d'Aligre, for example. There are a few others, but since I never go there, I can't think of them right now. Beautiful buildings, though. And if you like this kind of architecture, you should head over to La Villette. Are the postcards at the $10 level and up? On your patreon page, it says $25 and up.
Lots more to see =) The postcards for this round were part of a special offer, so everyone at $10 and up by the end of January will get one (and there might be some left over for new people who join now). The Postcard Club is for people $25 and up, and they'll get a postcard quarterly from here on out. People at $5 and up will still get a postcard any time I develop a new, odd-numbered disposable camera 😎👍 Lots of postcard rules to keep track of 😂
The most strange thing for me during my first travel in Paris is people have to open the subway door manually. I just stood before the door for several seconds without knowing how to open it.
One of my very best friends lives near the Marché de l’Olive on rue de l’Evangile. How cool to see that area again in your vlog! I love the Goutte d’Or. Some days I can view your vlog with detachment and objectivity, like, “Yeah, ok, it’s Paris being Paris. Hum dee hum.” Others, like this one, hit me with a wave of nostalgia and a longing to go back to one of my other homeplaces on this planet. Some of that has to do with seeing former stomping grounds - most of the time you’re in areas I know about and have been to, but then there are those ones that hit me in the feels because you’re in locations where I truly lived my life. The 18th & 19th are those places. Sigh. Yanique is fantastic! I have this feeling I may have run into her at some point at a blogger’s thing, but I’m not certain. She’s really got it going on with entrepreneurship. Awesome. 👍🏼✌🏼
Jay Swanson Yes, she is. Funny story (to me): Lindsay Tramuta-Morel and I both started our blogs July 2009. She obviously did a lot more with hers!! 😂😂😂 She’s become Paris blog royalty and I’m back in rural Northern Colorado watching UA-cam. I’ve got a good life, though. Just a lot more anonymous and quietly ordinary. 😊
A couple of my good friends run a vegan travel business and take folks on vegan tours to Paris & the South of France. Veganism is on the uptick in parts of France right now! Sure, it’s a mostly meat-eating place, and yeah, there are those who partake in horse meat and foie gras, but the French also care about the planet and sustainability, and things are changing there. It’s pretty cool to watch veganism grow there!
There are some great vegan places around, but it is harder to find vegetarian/vegan options in France for sure. Definitely be prepared to do some extra work, especially if it's a dietary requirement (I have a few listed in my guide and plan to find more this year)
@@JaySwanson It's no easier to eat a vegetarian diet while using the Interstate highway system for travel in the United States. ;) If you cut out dairy as well, you're down to a lot of apple pie eatin' ;)
Christopher I’m gluten-free, soy-free, AND vegan! 😆 I eat a lot of dried fruit and nuts on road trips, lol. Chipotle is a good option, if I’m in a city that has one.

Yanique is crazy ADORABLE! Lovely, glad to meet her :)
Hopefully we'll see more of her in the future =D
She’s so sweet!
Absolutely!
Happy Palintines day!

She's beautiful. Love her skin and teeth.
Isn't she??

So glad this video got suggested because Sis is DRESSED! 👏🏾👏🏾

Very nice video. I've never been to France. When I do go someday, I hope I have a wonderful tour guide like you 2!💖🍇
Marche d'Olive reminds me of the Sweet Auburn/Municipal Market here in Atlanta.
She is wonderful

MyTod2 .... I believe that it’s le marché de la Chapelle, Rue de l’Olive in NE Paris
Great!!!
Thanks!
Happy Valentines Day! Favorite part was the doggie at the market. 🐶

It's a really nice building =D
Do you mean renovated ? The marché de l'Olive is actually rather old... It was built in the late 1800's
Awe the puppy was so cute! I have a feeling when I get over there that I will be shopping at the markets a lot.
Just be sure to pay your respects to the local puppers ;D
Jay Swanson I sure will. Just can’t wait to have a break from Immunology class and have some fun.

The video was great as usual! Thank you Jay. But Yanique earrings are amazing! Fashion goals!

Wow. I think I’m 1st for the first time. 😂
Happy ❤️ Day. Hope you get a nap in. 😊

I was following her before I found you! Cool that she's going into this. Guess I know where to go when the dream is further along!! ^_^

Anywho Two Kay (AW2K)
Almost looks as les Halles in the olden days, before they tore it all down.
There are lots of these structures still around, but many have been repurposed - I like their style
Yanique can market herself to companies in the uk who want to relocate to Paris because of Brexit, especially if we leave without a deal.
Not a bad idea
ATTITUDE....😍
=)
She is charming
I had horse meat in probably the most traditional and beloved of restaurants in Verona. It did not sit well
I think jay needs some zinc multivitamins .. lol

so I'm guessing vegans should, if possible ,change their diet while in Paris, nes'pa
