    Helpful hint: use vinegar/some salt to clean/scrub that line on the glass. If really stubborn, you can even soak the vase overnight in the sink with water and the vinegar (a big splash of it) but rinse thoroughly before reuse.

    I've recently emptied my fish tank after my final fish died. He was 10. I decided to stop keeping fish once he had passed away. My two marimo balls have been sat there for a couple of days on the wet gravel, still partially soaked in water. I was wondering how to dispose of them and feeling a bit sad about it. After watching your video I'm putting them straight into a jug of water and I'm going to buy a jar for them tomorrow with a small oxygen vent and follow your tips. Happy ending! They will live on! 😀. Thank you so much for this video 🙂

    For the white ring buildup on glass or anything else in the tank or bowl. I have found api ph down ( it’s for fish tanks to drop the ph level) on a rag or paper towel straight from the bottle and rubbed on the ring removes that buildup easily. If by any chance a little bit is still there, rinse and repeat. Works wonders and saved a filter on one of my tanks.

    My friend and I both love plants. We end up trading or just giving each other plants 😂 My friend gave my a baby Marino ball and it’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. I’m really excited to have it! One thing I haven’t been able to find is how far away can I keep it from the window?

    • @JillMaurer
      @JillMaurer  4 роки тому +2

      It needs bright light but not direct, not right in the window. Don't keep it in a room with no windows like a bathroom, but you can keep it in a room that has reasonable sunlight. I turn the lights off during the day and see how much sunlight is coming in. If the room has reasonably light with the lights off that seems to be enough light for mine. Enjoy your new little guy!! xoxo

    Never squeeze the algae’s it’s not a sponge they break apart because it’s just a string of tight bound plant. Lightly swish the ball around donor squeeze. This will create brown spots.

    would it be bad for a marimo of I put it in a container with a lid?
