Was sat in my room crying at the thought of not knowing how to remove the roof edge moulding on my e36 coupe until I found this video. Thank you, sincerely, Finsky garage ☺️
Everyone watching: you can deinstall the whole rear windowglass with two screws behind the seatbelt cover. Its mounted in place and not glued. I think that might make this Job a bit easier! great video btw... first time seeing some helpful advice for this work :D
You are the man!! Thanks alot for your video sir!! I literally just drove across town last night to remove this trim from a parts car someone had since my car has been missing this trim piece from the day I bought it.. it worked like a charm your a winner 🏆!! Howdy from Houston Teeexas 💪🏽 😎
Hey I know you don’t really post a lot on UA-cam, but I think a lot of people will enjoy you giving tips on detailing and I know you do that on tik tok already. You just explain it better than a lot of these detailers on UA-cam.
i've been thinking about but I really like the tik tok platform because of how wide of a reach I can achieve. thanks for the kind words though! i really appreciate it:)
Great step by step vid dude. Been looking for a guide on how to redo mine cuz they definitely peeled the paint. Let your camera buddy know to get in close on the action next time btw. Get a good angle close up so that viewers can see any changes that happen. Other than that, you just got yourself a new sub! Digging the E36 content!
OKAY so for everyone trying to reinstall, I recommend installation with the rear window fully shut, and the front door open. Make sure you had a good breakfast and choose violence when you wake up. Start at the back, and work your way to the front. Along the top you will have difficulty, there is a seal on the inside preventing the trim from popping on. I used a small screwdriver to move that out of the way as I pressed on the new piece with my hands. I also used a rubber mallet and stir stick to convince the piece of junk on there. Initially I tried with the rear window open and it messed up the finish/ got bent. Much easier closed. If you have the dough just buy new ones. Or if you have to do this, I am going to disagree with the poster and recommend masking off your car, cutting away the old trim with a razor, and sanding the rust. If you invest the time you would have spent removing/installing on prep you should have a better end result. I used duplicolor trim paint and will definitely need to do a touch up coat on the side I fixed and reinstalled.
Thank you Finsky I am in the process of spraying my car and I was wondering what the hell I was going to do also started to cry when I saw the price for the replacement from ECS.... thanks a lot man
That was awesome, man! I have been putting off doing this on my E36 and they are really nasty rust red. I can't wait to get started. Installing, should the rear go in first and then the front before pressing in the whole middle?
hey man, do you think you could do a yt vid on car detailing like on your tiktok? Im looking for some good, long form tutorials that can help me with my new car. Black is really hard to keep clean and Ive only owned 4wds before, so Ive never needed to get my car as clean as I would like my street car to be thanks man, love your vids
Definitely remove the rear window - it's not that hard and it will make trim installation go much easier also. And yeah, open the door to get that mirror out of the way!

Appreciate it! Next time if I do anything like this I'll make sure to get some closer shots in to make it easier. Good luck with yours when you do it!
Am I up at 4 am in the morning watching Finsky? Yes. Am I upset? No.

I've chosen violence when I wake up regularly and it's worked wonders for my self esteem!
I've always wondered how to remove that lol. Thank you for making this tutorial!
WISH THERE WAS A VIDEO OF RE-INSTALLING THEM - THIS REMOVAL WAS GREAT BUT GETTING THE REPLACEMENTS BACK ON HAS NOT GONE WELL

It looks like it might be a lot easier if the door mirror and the rear window were removed, no? Good job man.

Yo. I saw your FILTHY clean 36 on Tok. How do you recommend getting out deep scratches from black paint? I have a few ones that drives me crazy.
probably the best way to deal with the rear window is to take it out, but that is kind of a pain.
Was it easy to re-install the molding?
absolutely not lmfao
finally
