I am so impressed with Andrew’s baking skills!! The scones looked so amazing, I will be giving this a try soon for sure! It was so lovely to hear your mother talk about how far back she can remember about cream teas, added a wonderful touch to the video ! Have a great weekend, sending lots of happiness, Lori
This is a really lovely video Sarah and as always the fun element as well. You two are always so smiley and happy. Andrew is a very good looking chap and we don't often see him without his hat!! When its raining and you cant get out you should do more of these like Cook Along With Andrew. I imagined you to use Cornish-ware in blue and white, i love it but very expensive it was first made in the 1920s. My mum used to like it. I think a cream tea is more special when its set out like afternoon tea and i say scone as Andrew does the 'bone' option not the 'gone' option. Jam first of course. 😊 xx
Great little video tutorial. Made me smile all the way through. Loving the little gadget for mixing the butter and flour, and loved the addition of natural yoghurt. I'm the husband/Dad/baker in our family, so I'll be giving this a go on this foul rainy day up here in Scotland. "sc ON' rather than "sc OWN" in my humble opinion - though this is possibly a regional thing. You're a lucky couple living down there in that beautiful part of the country...if not the world. Thanks guys. 👍 PS I've heard a few bakers who say not to twist the cutter when cutting them out. Apparently it can cause the scone to collapse a bit on the one side. I dip the cutter in some flour before cutting each one out. This allows you to cut simply by pressing down. Mind you, your results can't be faulted. Proof of the pudding etc....
Just loved this video, but now I want one of your delicious scones. Yummy!! Watched your Cornish pasty video too. They looked just perfect too. More cooking videos please!! Thank you guys xxx👏👏👏💜💜
That looked so good. This has been so interesting. In Virginia, we slather butter, and Applebutter on a hot biscuit. Our families, in history, adapted their food on what they had in their pantry’s. Thank you for sharing. What a wonderful gift your cookbook must be to you!!!
Hi Sarah & Andrew..... Love, love, love this vlog!!! Please do more!!! I have made scones & clotted cream... I also make many other British delights. I really love Yorkshire pudding but I have to admit that clotted cream is one of my favs. I am from NY but my grandads family came from UK.
Just made your scones for Valentine’s Day-amazing. My wife has never been able to make them successfully before. Not so lucky with the cream, fortunately Rodda comes to Norfolk! Thanks
Wonderful! I hope you enjoyed them! We will be filming a gallery of the photos sent by viewers of the scones they have made, so if you make some more, send us a photo. You never know it may be included, especially with a cheesy grin! Sarah :)
Thank you for continuing to entertain and educate us with another lockdown vlog. My wife Tracey and I always look forward to your wonderful walking videos on UA-cam and it feels like we know you personally. This lockdown one reminds me of your pasty making vlog in the first lockdown last year. We had a go at them ourselves and, as I mentioned in the comments at the time, they turned out yummy! We'll be having ago at Andrew's scones recipe this time and I'll let you know how that goes as well, although when they're served I will be putting the cream on first! Ha,ha! Many thanks again, Devon Tony.
Great video I’m going give it a try well done Andrew them scones look yummy 😋 coming out the oven risen well I send some photos thank you sharing the video 😀
Oh yummy 🥰 I am happy I already have had my breakfast so I'm not hungry 😁 I must try this some time. I really like the Hairy Bikers' programmes on TV, so this is surely a good recipe 👍
Hi, In Australia we have a similar formula, however, I always add sultanas which give a moist rich flavour. My ancestors came from Wiltshire that may be the difference. Cheers Cecil
I’m also gluten-free for health reasons. I think you should try substituting a good GF flour in the recipe and see how it turns out! Or find a recommended GF scone recipe 😉. Also I think Andrew has found another ‘vocation’! 🤩. Great video! Us viewers are nosy neighbors and like to see how you live 😉 Now we all want to know who plays the piano?!
I consider myself a reasonably competent cook and have experimented with the GF flour but I find the results are usually disappointing, and the flour itself is expensive. As for the piano, that is mine! I learned as a child and achieved Grad 6 but I don't practice so much now! Can sight read Grad 2-3 stuff! Sarah :)
Hi both, Scones /scons, matter doit? LOL. Which one of you is going to show us how to do the home made Strawberry Jam? Only just found this Vlog and loved it. All the best Rich.😀👍👍
Hi we love listing to your blogs of cornish walks could you advise us on accommodation near to Port issac we're thinking of a long weekend @ some stage. Maybe a Premier Inn.
Here in the antipodes - Adelaide, Australia, we are passionate for our afternoon teas. The ongoing, fiery argument over local Adelaide Cornish scones (cream then jam) or Devonshire scones (jam then cream) is an historic rivalry to compare with any Ashes series. For me, jam first , then - itsgone.
Looks delicious ! What do you mean by "self raising flour" - is there already baking powder in or is it just white flour ?? I will try this weekend and I'll do my very best 😉😊
Hi Sarah & Andrew, super scones Andrew. I was interested to see Sarah cannot eat wheat. Do you make your own wheat free scones and if so, do you have a recipe please? Ann & Paul.

Yummy and great job Andrew. I'm really enjoying your Cornish traditions. Can't wait to learn how to make the cream.
Really lovely video.....you bring a such cheer to us Andrew & Sarah ,thank you. We are very tempted to try the clotted cream now .x
