I feel you on so many levels-the resetting, the mystery/thriller vibes, creeped out by American psycho. I’ve only seen the movie and was weirded out then (though I’d definitely watch it again) so I could only imagine reading it all.
Right now I’m reading The Housemaid and am HOOKED! It is so good! Now all I want are more mystery and thriller books!

Going out also helps me destress and gives me the energy and headspace to look at my responsibilites from a different perspective. I love going to target and buying a top or pants that I know will make me feel good or I love sitting at the barnes and noble cafe. But getting out of the house, even just for a ride or a talk with a friend in the car is a must to help me feel better

Oh my gosh, I found a beautiful older copy of Little Women at a thrift store for $1.50. Ive never read it before, but its a classic people seem to gush over. So, I had to get it. Unfortunately, the cover got a bit crinkled during my move back in June... I still havent read it because I'm not sure I want to cry. I hear its a really sad but good read. I need to fine out. Also, thanks for the push to get organized! As the holidays approach, I'm heading into 60 hour work weeks, so I definitely needed that nudge. Love your content!

I was in the middle of making my own to do lists for the week when your video popped up; I love seeing what other do. I've also felt in need for a big reset lately too.
I read American Psycho eons ago so the details are foggy but I didn't like it. It seemed to want to be disturbing for the sake of it. IMO the movie was a lot better. It's more cohesive and coherent, and while still very graphic it's not as bad as the book. It's much more of a satire of privileged 80s white man, and the performances are amazing.
For books, I just started The Unmaking of June Farrow and will be reading My Sister, the Serial Killer too for a book club.

I've been sick with COVID for the past 2weeks an it's been stressful but at least I was able to finally finish the Dark Tower series😊 you never saw the movie American Psycho 😂
If you finish it you will see there are alternate interpretations for American Psycho that are completely different from what it seems to be on the surface. The movie contains this as well, though the movie has much less "violence" 👍

Girl I feel you on your sentiments about the book American Psycho. Its backwards and Reprehensible in my opinion that rappers have used these very disgusting derogatory terms on each other And against women in music and it is celebrated In another form. It is more disgusting for black people to use it against each other knowing the history of it and how it was used to degrade us, To turn it around and try to use it as a term of endearment? The book did exactly what it needed to do to make you feel that way Unfortunately and fortunately. They always said about movies that if you want to jump into the TV and strangle the bad guy, You pick the right actor for the part.

Yeah to be fair Patrick Bateman is supposed to be absolute garbage and super annoying and narcissistic. He sucks. Also I don’t remember if you bought IT by Stephen King, or if you ever plan to read it, but if you do, keep in mind the homophobic and racist bits are supposed to be like that as well, and unfortunately it’s similar to American Psycho in the way that it’s just all the time racism to the one black character and his dad when he tells stories from the 20s, and a homophobic attack, and lots of homophobic jokes, but it’s not Stephen King being like that, he’s trying to sell what the kids have to go through and how horrible the 50s were for minorities (and the 80s for gay people too). That being said though, I loved that book so much. Hate hate hate the constant racism to Mike from the bullies and whatnot, but overall it’s a super enjoyable book.
