Who wants to see a Becky&Kelsey vs Rochelle&Rachel diy or styling challenge? Like that one the did with their boyfriends: OG sorry girls vs new sorry girls 🙋🏼♂️
This format, with the three methods followed by pros and cons? WONDERFUL. Rochelle is doing a great job at making things feel extremely doable, and now I want to put shelves EVERYWHERE
Oof I would love a circular saw tricks and tips video! I bought one from Amazon like three months ago and it’s just sat in the box bc I’m terrified of it 🫣
Rochelle rocked this- teaching and showing the "why" so that everything made sense! She's very real in how she speaks to the camera, can't wait for more from her!
You hit the nail on the head. "Love the natural light hate the natural sound." In a world where even 10-year-olds get really good camera and sound equipment because they make TikToks it would be really cool if the sorry girls would tackle some easy ,efficient, or even inexpensive (?) Soundproofing methods. The house I bought used to be an asylum and there are a ton of small features built into soundproofing that they clearly needed for the people who here recovering. There's strategic paper on the walls and the thickness of the doors and additional insulation inside the walls. So unless I open a window or stand next to an external door I can't tell I have neighbors. I can't even hear the train go by. But I know that there are easy ways or renter friendly ways right? That seems like a DIY project you could teach us how to do.
i'm such a girl, so just want to say Rochelle's hair is super cute blown out and I didn't realize how long it is. Will always be a fan of the curls but for this video thumbs up
Tip for the first kind of shelf; the LACK shelf from IKEA uses that kind of hardware, but with just one long bracket and several pegs. Meaning, easier install, and they’re most often sold second hand for very cheap ☺️
This is such a helpful video!! I love the floating shelf look and didn't want to pay for a bunch of brackets, but I certainly have a dowel or two in my woodworking supplies! I'm about to be a menace and have floating shelves all over this house 😍
Pro tip - make sure you call the big box store to see if their saws are working before you go - that way you won't be disappointed when you go to purchase the lumber
Not a "pro" tip, If you are a pro, you'd have a ton of saws and not be calling HD ! ;) Btw in Toronto it's a rare day they actually pick up the phone lol
This is Rochelle’s best video yet! Loved this one, and i love seeing her interact with the camera person and people in the background. Her personality is showing and it’s cute! ALSO. I willll be using the dowel method Thank uuu!
I think these kinds of videos will be great for people who are specifically wanting to build a shelf. For those of us more interested in overall design , less so. Rochelle is clearly a great addition for her technical skills.
Rochelle! As a curly haired girl, I love your curls so much - that being said I wasn’t fully watching the tv and had to double take when I saw you with straight hair! You look fab! Also, you make skills so easy!
Great job, Rochelle! Love the “3 ways” concept enabling us to adapt the project based on what we have/are comfortable with, etc.. And the method pros/cons? Chef’s kiss! Also, umm… “lazy” or efficient? 😉
The Michelle Branch at the end, yes! 🎵❤ also, great video!!! Never knew there were floating shelf alternative methods to the standard floating hardware
I have been watching so many videos on floating shelves and this was by far the best! You explained things so clearly and made this task seem super achievable! I am so excited to follow your steps when making my floating shelves
Thanks for all the options! Can I suggest that you make a silicone mold of our little bar cart robot mini? They're used in final touches where they always look perfect in the setting. Maybe having more than one is the answer! Mini robot barcarts for every room! You get a mini! And You get a mini!
Thanks Rochelle! I would love to see how to fix mortar in a brick wall. Who else has an old brick wall or non-working fireplace, where mortar has crumbled in places and needs fixing/updating? It is SO expensive to get a pro to do it! I feel like this is something every DIYer & home owner should know 😊😊
Excellent new format!!! I love and misses the tutorial style, three different methods is Awesome, and I love how you showed manual vs. power tool ways to accomplish the same goals!
Really good explanations! I would add another con for the third version: You will need an (north?)american style wall. I never tried to drill a hole at an angle in a brick wall, but it would definitly be not as easy as described.😂
Can I just say your hair is stunning all straightened. You would never know it’s usually such tight curls. Major hair envy. As always, love hearing your soothing voice & learning all your tips and tricks
So much personality. All 4 hosts have such great identities, tbh. Great video. And like how u taught us multiple methods for one task! Video concepts: Would like to have a wood tour shopping explaination at an average box store. Theres so many options and so many different markings indicating different processing it just gets too much. Rochelle can 100% make it easy to understand to navigate and select the right wood for a project! And 2nd suggestion: would like an explanation on anchors. Project hanging a hammock chair or weight baring object like a swing for a nursery, and wanting to select the right anchor that holds up 300 lbs (per se).
Such great information. I love all of the methods but the last was so simply done. I will remember that when I am doing my next project. Thanks!!! ♥️✌🏼
Just the knowledge I need to be dangerous. Lol. Thanks for showing how to use a drill in multiple ways as well as the hand chiseling. I thought I would need some kind of router tool for that. I have been stressing about adding floating shelves on either side of my fireplace. Nothing prefab comes in the right measurements - so I thought I might need to hire a carpenter. After this video, I am going to rip off the bandaid and make my own!
Method 3 is by far the best method. A pocket hole jig is well worth it. Though if you plug it, how do you remove them? They'll be in there snug no? Drill them then dig them out? For method 1 I feel like you could find a continuous small bracket? My ikea floating shelf was like that though chunkier
I did this third method and followed the video you referenced. My shelves were deeper than yours and the do sag a bit sadly, I’ve considered adding small brackets or some form of support so they sit better but they have been up and styled for over a year with no issues otherwise!
Rochelle is always so thorough when explaining projects! Love to see her leading her own videos.
Shout out to Rochelle for giving me yet another skill to impress my retired-builder grandfather with! 😍
Rochelle gives me confidence that I could do this. She's a great addition to he team
I agree ☝️
Who wants to see a Becky&Kelsey vs Rochelle&Rachel diy or styling challenge? Like that one the did with their boyfriends: OG sorry girls vs new sorry girls 🙋🏼♂️
It could also be fun to do a homeowner vs renter challenge. For example, two different ways to do a built-in look.
That would be fun!
Yes!!!
Me!!
Original vs new doesn't appeal to me at all, It doesn't seem fair. I'd do Kelsey&Rachel vs. Becky&Rochelle ❤
Rochelle is such a natural teacher. Love this series!
Did you notice Rochelle wearing gloves to avoid splinters, etc. while picking out her lumber? Smart !
No etc
There is something so relaxing and enjoyable about watching an absolute BOSS just work it out. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Slay, Rochelle.
This format, with the three methods followed by pros and cons? WONDERFUL. Rochelle is doing a great job at making things feel extremely doable, and now I want to put shelves EVERYWHERE
Rochelle's Kim Possible attire is EVERYTHING 💯
P.S. Could you do a How To Go Do episode on how to use a circular saw please and thank you!
Oof I would love a circular saw tricks and tips video! I bought one from Amazon like three months ago and it’s just sat in the box bc I’m terrified of it 🫣

I love how informative and educational Rochelle’s videos are! Great job as always!

Rochelle is the best thing that could have happened to this channel. Her content is amazing.
Ah I love her vibe and how every Sorry Girl has their own take ❤
WOW these are great! They were all new methods to me. I'm from the L bracket generation. 😀
i'm such a girl, so just want to say Rochelle's hair is super cute blown out and I didn't realize how long it is. Will always be a fan of the curls but for this video thumbs up

Yes! I was thinking exactly the same thing
wow, another amazing video. I would watch an entire LIVE of Rochelle just explaining everything DIY.
Rochelle makes this easy for me to do! We just moved and are fixing up our house! Thank you Rochelle and Becky!
This is such a helpful video!! I love the floating shelf look and didn't want to pay for a bunch of brackets, but I certainly have a dowel or two in my woodworking supplies! I'm about to be a menace and have floating shelves all over this house 😍
So, Rochelle is just a total natural!
I loved watching her - I learned a lot and she has a great energy.

Thank you for addressing purchasing lumber in store 🙌 I find it super overwhelming so thank you for making it easy to understand!
It would be so fun to see an updated tour of the space now that so much have changed😍
I love that you added the pros and cons for each method. Very helpful!
Floating shelves have always seemed so daunting. Great tips!
This is Rochelle’s best video yet! Loved this one, and i love seeing her interact with the camera person and people in the background. Her personality is showing and it’s cute! ALSO. I willll be using the dowel method Thank uuu!

Loved this video! Super clear & omg the pocket hole version is fab!!!
Rochelle, you're a natural at this! I need to put up some baseboard and window trim. Can you show me how?
Great job, Rochelle! Love the “3 ways” concept enabling us to adapt the project based on what we have/are comfortable with, etc.. And the method pros/cons? Chef’s kiss! Also, umm… “lazy” or efficient? 😉
Ooh I love the holder for the glasses on the bottom shelf! Super cute 🥰
Well done Rochelle!
OMG Rochelle--you're amazing! You explained everything so well and obviously have the skills to do them all!! Well done!!
The Michelle Branch at the end, yes! 🎵❤ also, great video!!! Never knew there were floating shelf alternative methods to the standard floating hardware
loveeeee! this is coming at the perfect time for me. thank you Rochelle!!!
the tiny bar cart robot!!! i love him!!!!!!
I love Rochelle so much. Such a sweet and genuine vibe, absolutely an amazing addition to the team.
I have been watching so many videos on floating shelves and this was by far the best! You explained things so clearly and made this task seem super achievable! I am so excited to follow your steps when making my floating shelves
I love pocket holes. haha They are so, so clever.❤

We need merch immediately! Beep beep beep! Love the natural light. Hate the natural sound. YES! I need this on a sticker and a t- shirt stat!
I'm addicted to pocket hole drilling. It's so satisfying to do.
This was a great video! I loved getting to see more of Rochelle’s personality come through while being super informative 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
Thanks Rochelle! I would love to see how to fix mortar in a brick wall. Who else has an old brick wall or non-working fireplace, where mortar has crumbled in places and needs fixing/updating? Simple explanations like this make me feel soo empowered
I’m cracking up at 13/32tooths. Hahahahaa! 13/32nds loving this as it’s a project I’m about to tackle! Cheers!
Excellent new format!!! I love and misses the tutorial style, three different methods is Awesome, and I love how you showed manual vs. power tool ways to accomplish the same goals!
Rochelle, you are a GREAT teacher! Thanks
Metal bracket one is my favourite. Not so much worrying if it'll stay up!
Yyyyyyyyaaaasss!!! Loved this!!! And I had never seen that pocket hole method before. Awesome shelf DIYs Rochelle!!!!
I love everything Rochelle does, she explains it so well! Now I just need a video on how to mount anything on unpredictable European walls 🥲
I would love a quick good tools to have when starting home diys!
Really good explanations!
I would add another con for the third version: You will need an (north?)american style wall. I never tried to drill a hole at an angle in a brick wall, but it would definitly be not as easy as described.😂

The DIY floating shelf video I’ve been waiting for! 🙏

Thank you so much for all the tips and explanations, I feel like I could do this now!
I would die for a USM Haller DIY from the Sorry Girls. So chic but sooo expensive 🥲
best video for floating shelves!! thanks for the pros and cons :)
absolutely love your teaching style!
Loved this! And best Rochelle video yet 🎉 You were so chill!
Now I am going to have to do those shelves and YES I have a pocket hole jig!!! Thanks so much for all the helpful information.
i was hoping this was a rochelle video! they get me so inspired to build cool stuff
I- LOVE- THISSSSSSSSSS In puerto rico we have cement as walls so it's pretty hard to get shelves - SO TRYING THE SCREWS ONLY ONE!!!
Alexandra Gater's Dad did the second method in her kitchen, looked amazing
love rochelle.what a nice addition!
Get itttttt queen! Rochelle KILLING IT with the skills and charm 💪✨ so so so so SO excited to watch you shiiiiine
Such great information. I love all of the methods but the last was so simply done. I will remember that when I am doing my next project. Thanks!!! ♥️✌🏼
The second method actually makes more sense for me. All I need is a few long dowels and some solid wall anchors and screws. I have a saw and wood.
The pros and cons tops it, nice one Rochelle 💪🏾
I need to put shelves up in my new place, so this was perfect! Sending love from indiana 😘
Pocket holes for the win!! Such great content. Super informative video. 🏆🏆🏆
Wow!! I actually have the hardware from.shelving I took down when we moved in a few years ago. I might actually give thos a go!
Such a helpful guide. I needed this info rn. Thank you!
yesss!!! love love love seeing more rochelle 💗💗💗
Thank you so much , I have been looking on pinterest home to do floating shelf, but your video is way better. 😊
Love watching the sorry fam grow! Thanks for another super practical and informative video Rochelle and team!
Just the knowledge I need to be dangerous. Lol. Thanks for showing how to use a drill in multiple ways as well as the hand chiseling. I thought I would need some kind of router tool for that. I have been stressing about adding floating shelves on either side of my fireplace. Nothing prefab comes in the right measurements - so I thought I might need to hire a carpenter. really enjoyed this video! very thorough explanation but maybe look easy!
Rochelle, I love your natural hair but I know it’s fun to do something different…and the straight style looks beautiful too🥰
Thank you SOOO much for this video, already know what I'm using the pocket hole jig version on!!!
im just making my first floating rounded corner shelf so its really helpful to learn other ways to make floating shelves
love Love LOVE THESE INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS!!!!! ~in the process of being miss independent in putting things together~
Method 3 is by far the best method. A pocket hole jig is well worth it. Though if you plug it, how do you remove them? They'll be in there snug no? Drill them then dig them out? For method 1 I feel like you could find a continuous small bracket? My ikea floating shelf was like that though chunkier
this is so timely!! i was just going to go and buy shelves for storage :O
i walked away from this video much more knowledgeable and also with 'all you wanted' stuck in my head - thanks rochelle! 😅
4:00 “love the natural light, but hate the natural sound” 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 she slayed shes iconic
Thank you for the different steps ☺️
Hey Rochelle, thanks so much for this video, I really enjoyed it ánd learned a thing (or two)
I would love to see a video on how to use a router! It seems like a useful tool.😊
I needed this video yyeeeesssteerday!!
hahahaha
this was so helpful and informative!! i'm curious tho, can they each support the same amount of weight and will they sag over time?
A 4th con for the pockethole-version: you can't use it on concrete/brick walls because of the angle for the ankers.
I really needed this video, thank you!!! 🙏
Okay but Rochelle has no business being such a badass cutie patootie
i love this series. its informative. hoping for corner shelves tru cements please 🥺
I did this third method and followed the video you referenced. My shelves were deeper than yours and the do sag a bit sadly, I’ve considered adding small brackets or some form of support so they sit better but they have been up and styled for over a year with no issues otherwise!
Excellent tutorial -- thanks so much!
Thanks for sharing this with us 🎉
