The Trek Marlin+ is an electric mountain bike that's ready to up your game on the trail. It has a new-for-2024 Bosch Active Line Plus motor producing 50Nm of torque and powered by a 400Wh battery fixed into the downtube, which is good for an estimated two to four hours of assist. While that might be less than beefier e-bikes like the 85Nm on Trek Rail, it’s plenty for assisting you up steep, lengthy climbs and feels more powerful than that. The new Shimano CUES gears - tailor-made for e-bikes - have also impressed on our first ride out.
I love the 29er wheels and Charlie Chihuahua rear rack option on the Marlin + 6.
During my bilateral knee replacement recovery I bought a FX Sport 4 so I can mount a pizza rack and again perfect to take Charlie Chauhauha with me on the paths and bitumen roads.
Well done, just try and keep cycling 👍.
All the best, BBB.
Perfect if you could release and change the battery !!!
Having problems?
Looking at Cube reaction ,but love the look of the Trek apart from battery release ? Could you show how to ?@@BigBearBikes
@@davesenior9577 Please meail the shop directly on shop@bigbearbikes.co.uk, and they will get back to you. Thanks BBB
He says the battery can come out if you release a few bolts
I just ordered after test riding the bike. Lighter than the powerfly and seems more efficient as well
Hey, that's fantastic. Enjoy the bike they are fantastic! Can we ask what country & county or state is home please? Thanks BBB 👍.
HI Craig - are you happy after 4 months mate? Do you mind me asking your average range for a simple ride. I am looking at one for my wife, she's light, around 53kg and looking at a small sized 8+
Didn't even make 30 miles on a charge using auto mode only. Glad I rented first.
That's actually good.
@@vegasvampire66648 Unfortunately it just is not enough range for my style of riding. That only lasted about 2 hours. I've purchased a 625w bike instead and should be able to get much more. Keep in mind if you do moderate trail riding with this bike don't expect to go much more than a couple hours.
Many thanks for the comment & feedback. BBB 👍
No pedaling?
@@richarde1355 You have to pedal there is no throttle.
Tappered head tube?
Hi, Non-taper is a straight steerer tube (the thing that connects the bike frame to the forks. Tapered will start at 1.5" at the bottom and 1-1/8" at the top usually. The taper gives much more rigidity for a minimal weight increase. That's why you see them mostly on mountain bikes whihc need more strength in this part of the frame. Hope this helps? Thanks BBB
@@BigBearBikes thank you ❤
@@BigBearBikes That's great info.

Agree, much much cheaper. New technology, it always starts expensive, then gradually comes down in price. Thanks BBB 👍.
