So Harry Potter is one of the more controversial franchises of recent years. JK Rowling’s reputation has never been in a worse place, and the franchise has just ended the Fantastic Beasts saga, the big Dumbledore vs Grindelwald story, as a trilogy instead of the planned five films. Woof. That ain’t great. And so, today I’m gonna talk about the future. Is there a future for this franchise? How does it go on? If I was Warner Bros, what direction would I take this? A reboot? New series? New films? Where did Warner Bros go wrong before, and how can it be avoided on the next go round? All that and more in this video. Enjoy! - Розваги
YES !!!! THANK YOU !!! I've been saying this for years!! The best way to 'reboot' the Harry Potter series is to make an animation series. The animation format lends itself perfectly to a magical world. In live actions, there are limitations because of CGI budgets etc., but in animation, the possibilities are endless! And you don't have the problem of finding replacements for beloved actors.
I would love to see a Harry Potter adaption in an amazing animation style similar to Arcane, stylized but a bit mature as well, which would be good for the darker themes in the franchise.
That would be perfect! A lot of the characters would look more faithful to their descriptions if they were animated.
@@GuineaPig361 Yes!! And the younger versions of characters in flashbacks would actually look convincing! Personally, I didn't think that the actors that played the young versions of James, Lupin, and Sirius looked very much like their older counterparts. Also, there was little resemblance between young James and Harry, while they're supposed to look extremely alike. With animation that could be easily obtained, and because of the significant difference in eye colour and the presence/absence of a scar, the viewer would still be able to tell them apart.
I can imagine an adult-audience only Marauder-era prequel. But like, imagine a mixture of Chotto Kawaii Iron Maiden, the Knights of the Round table, "Diabolik Lovers react to..." and the Sanson Mémoires, and then put this into the Harry Potter verse, discovering the Pureblood culture and anti-social side of Wizarding society, and also explain the positive and negative changes Dumbledore brought to Hogwarts as an institution, through Severus Snape, because frankly, he's one of the few character that knows what is happening around, at least near Voldemort's downfall. There would be some serious stuff, but it would be grim dark comedy, with bizarre situations.
There should also be a great deal of warmth and affection, both between characters and with the audience.
My idea is to remake ENTIRELY the “cursed child”
This time as tv show. Focusing on what the franchise did best : solving mysteries. The adult have a mystery to solve and the children sneakily help them to the point of solving it themselves, like a “famous five” thingy. We would also see Harry struggling to be a father because of his hero syndrome, Hermione struggling to be a mother because of her engagement for everyone’s rights and things. And Ron struggling to be a father while trying to keep his two best friends safe from their recklessness. And their neglecting is what helps the kids investigate.
And you sprinkle that with a shit ton of magic, magical beast and magical being.
I am thinking of 3 seasons.
End of season 1 the big villain is reveal to the audience while the characters only now finding out this is way bigger than they thought (and they find about their kids imitating their recklessness).
End of season 2 the characters find out about the big villain and their plan and season 3 would be about fighting and defeating the villain.
A thing I think would be good is linking the villain with the magical beasts like he is threatening them or want to use them as weapons and the only way to save them and defeat the big villain is to overcome the generational issues andHarry and co becoming better parents, growing to be a better version of themselves even as adults.
Think of his “Adults admitting their mistake to their children and apologizing” that’s would be so good!
I was a disappointed when I saw Magical Germany, my first thought was “We’re the bad guys here too?” Germany has so many real world magical inspirations it’s not at all grey like it appeared.
I really hoped for some direct NSDAP occultism connection. Grindelwald died 1945, I thought there would be a very tight link between the Nazis and his reign.... :( What waste of potential lore.
@@internetkurator9256 I’d always hoped that the German Wizarding Community would have done everything in their power to fight against the Nazis and save as many people as possible without alerting Hitler to magic.
I want to see Uagadou School of Magic. I mean they used wandless magic and was Natsai's back story in Hogwarts legacy.
I think it is difficult to reboot Harry potter. The main draw of the show was to explore the magical world. It will be hard to catch that magic again. I think for a long term health of harry potter the world building needs to be improved. Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw need to be fleshed out. Slytherin should be more than the bad guys.
As an American fan, I just want the franchise to focus on Ilvermorny now (though perhaps tweaking its origins so not to upset the NA community).

I would adore an animated adaptation after the designs of Loquacious Literature.
I fell in love with her take on the designs and wanna see those animated in a high budget production so bad!
I said it before for another UA-cam video on this very subject & I'll say it once again: personally would LOVE something about the Marauders: how they manage to become anigmagus at such a young age, all their full moon, nighttime wanderings, how in the world they created the map 🗺, & how James changed from the spoil, arrogant brat to the man Lily fell in love with and a loving father. Either that OR a Founders series about the 4 Founders of Hogwarts. I think a cool title for that would be simply: "The Four"! Also (and I KNOW this is asking for A LOT, but . . .) re-doing the WHOLE 7 books as a series instead of movies, where each seasons would be a book and each episode would be a chapter with the later seasons being more episodes because they were longer books; that way all the book scenes that were skipped or shorten for the movies would be there!! 😁 THOSE are the things I would MOST LOVE to see of the WW!! 😊👍🏻
The best option is the founders, Marauders are amazing (personal experiences as a huge marauders fan) but people get........defensive about certain things in marauders, how characters are presented. Also fan casting, people view characters as a specific person and get mad when you try to change that, kind of like how a reboot would fail for the same reasons. The founder's are hidden enough where you could make an interesting story and yo anywhere you like with it, once I saw a really good headcanon about Slytherin's family, it normally would have made no sense but as we don't know too much about any of these people you can really take it anywhere. The next gen.......no, just no. The cursed child makes no sense, time turners completely change, it makes no sense for Albus to be a Slytherin, Harry nearly becomes a worse father than Lucius Malfoy which once again makes no sense, Bellatrix and Voldemort having a child, the fact that Harry told McGonagall (the person who could make him cast a crutiatus curse when she git spat one, something he couldn't do to the person sho murdered his godfather right after the event) I'll come down on you and Hogwarts with the full weight of the ministry, Hogwarts is Harry's home and he's talking about the same ministry that hated him and even tried to kill him. This movie will fail no matter how you put it, especially since Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson said they wouldn't return for it. All in all best option is founders, marauders is far to risky if it isn't perfect, and by that I mean, include every single character equally (SB JP PP RM RB LE MM MM DM ER PR BCj FL AP FP GP NB BB AB MP AW YP SS ()M) And they would have to get the ships right, also they probably shouldn't do ATYD. Honestly Marauders is just too difficult as making something everyone would enjoy is very difficult, but this is on a very thin line, one slight change could affect the whole series. Enough Slytherin screentime, ships like wolfstar, jily, Jegulus, rosekiller, nobelflower, marylily, yaslene, dorlene, Marauders can't have this whole adventure fight thing like golden trio so they need to focus on other things. Maybe diving into another character would be good, but once again that would require recasting. The real best option is books, but JKR can't write them, though if it was anyone it wouldn't be considered canon, for example the cursed child.
Dude jk rowling owms harry potter. If its books she writes them but she doesnt plan too. As far as she is concernd harry potter doesnt need a Reboot or Prügel. Harry Potter is the books. Wb wants to turn it into something it isnt.
another big problem is the reality that WB has invested heavily in the Harry Potter theme parks. If they do the new series in live action how are they going to reinvent the wizarding world while not being able to totally abandon the old version? It seems like an impossible task
You get it!! I know this is old, but man how this aged. The MAX show is a bad idea if they don't give it its own identity. It almost stings that FB1 nearly clicked, because I really thought audiences were ready to embrace a radically different setting. Uh, not so! But it is also the films' fault for only going skin deep, as you put it, and *trying* to focus on plot and character isn't necessarily bad, but it struggled with that identity too. A shame that they couldn't at LEAST finish it out and find its footing and stick the landing with 4 and 5. But HL was a huge success, so it's not that the appetite isn’t there for new stories. I'm becoming more content with the universe being Potter or at least Hogwarts/Britain-centric again, because that's what people will collectively get excited about.
They need to explore Harry’s life as an aurer, lots of potential there
I'd love a show or movies about hte Founders. Let's leave alone what we already know and you know, Cursed Play is bad, Fantastic Beasts could've been better but it was not for reasons.

I am a day-one Harry Potter fan (yes, I am old). Not an enthusiast, not a super-fan, just a regular fan wiith a fancy for heraldry and occultism to begin with.
And here are my two cents: IT. IS. OVER.
The story is told. The movies are made. The unavoidable, cheaply done and expensively sold merchandise is everywhere. The new game is a nice nostalgia, and kind of fun, but nothing I craved for.
We need no new books, no new movies.
Please, USA, stop milking things to death until they are shriveled mummies. Let things be for once.
Why not just reboot the entire Wizarding World franchise with a brand new story based on the endings from the Hogwarts Legacy games?
Considering reboots already have a negative reputation in most media fanbases, it probably wouldn't go over well to contradict/ignore the events of the HP films (plus adapting choice-based games into films/tv takes the magic out if it for a lot of people).
thought of this as well and laughed at the probably of multiverse or multiple time lines XD
but honestly, hogwarts legacy made me realise that there are still so many stories they can make a movie series about and still fit in the orginal universe.
If they do remakes they have to do it in animation , the reboot in live action with new actors seriously it won't hold a candle to the original actings!! Animation can be awesome and then animation can spin off many animations with smaller mysteries and spin offs not all mysteries have to be huge in meaning or world threatening circumstances .... do it the warner's "x-men" thing that's my view!!
They Should've Just do a Live Action Series based on James Potter Novels Series written by G. Norman Lippert.. It Serves much More Better as a Sequel to the Original Series. ,How many of You Agree on this. Let's see Some LIKES..,.- Potter Fan Where are You? I'm One too.. HeheHe
