There was a Pet Sounds CD reissue where they split out the instrumental tracks and the vocal tracks, these arrangements are truly incredible. And an additional thing that was incredible about it: Brian Wilson didn't really know how to write sheet music well so he just sat down with each musician and told them what to play, he had it all in his brain.
One of my faovrites. You have to hear "Good Vibrations" by the Beach Boys if you like how this song has so many different sounds and sections. It's incredible.

Been missing you! 1966 Beach Boys are so awesome and talented!! There are a few of the songs that had the keyboards being played by Captain, from Captain and Tennell. Darryl I believe was his name. Keep going down this trail of Beach Boys. So many amazing great songs, even into the 1990's they had hits. Those late 50's and 60's songs. Amazing!! Surfin songs are such fun! Their harmonies are so great.
The way I found the beach boys was completely coincidental. My Grandparents did not know what to buy for my Birthday, I was a kid of lets say 12, I think, and it was on holiday in Austria. Cold winter outside, high snow, and I unpack gifts. Among some sweaters and socks and the obligatory money gift, was a CD wrapped in gift paper. "The Beach Boys, Greatest Hits/Best of". I can barely remember the cover of the CD, it was brownish in color, and I haven't seen it anywhere since, none of the CD's on YT match the description of it. It had all of it on there, California Girls, Fun Fun Fun, Kokomo, Wouldn't it be nice, all the good songs. Now, stuck with me was this Song, and the reason is the sudden swaps. It switches tempo multiple times, and the theme of the song thus changes too - and always returns to the base of it, which is why this song is so good. Combined with the message in the lyrics, a very good song. That you reacted to the song and had the same reactions that I had, was bliss to see because it is so genuine. The song is kind of mind blowing, but first and foremost, it's both rock-and-roll like, has soft ballad elements, and tells a nice story.
Yes the beach boys were huge back in the early 60s. Beautiful sounds. And the beach boys and Beatles were trying to out do each other with making new music 🎵🎶

i love the beach boys... when we were young boys always had to take a cassette to the lake in the summer. That was pure summer feeling for us and nobody can do that better than the Beach Boys. Listen to Kokomo ...
"Please Let Me Wonder" is a great Beach Boys song.
this song is Track 1, Side One from their album Pet Sounds. Pet Sounds is considered by many as the greatest album of all time.
Whatever else is said about The Beach Boys... They ALWAYS had one of the SMOOTHEST SOUNDS in Rock... : ) : ) : )
Pet Sounds, of course in my opinion, is one of the best albums ever. EVER. Nice reaction!
Best harmonies of any rock/pop group in my opinion. Listen to "In MY Room." Fantastic harmonies.
An absolute classic! One of the best albums ever recorded!
I agree with you Jay. It is a happy song. The music and harmonies were ahead of their time.
Yes the beach boys were huge back in the early 60s. Beautiful sounds. And the beach boys and Beatles were trying to out do each other with making new music 🎵🎶
McCartney said that Wilson was a genius. Said "God only Knows"is a perfect song.
