Thanks for your comment, but please don’t assume I was alone in the car holding my phone and that I wasn’t sure of the outcome, this was a video made to show reverse lock out which is a known feature on newer cars and also known that absolutely nothing happens.
Very good. I was riding with my dad in his 96 dodge Ram when I was a kid and accidentally bumped the shifting column with my knee and it went into reverse. We were going about 50 down a steep hill in the mountains. It basically sent the truck to neutral and we couldn’t put it back into drive until he stopped and restarted the truck. Still glad it didn’t do anything bad, but it scared us both because neither of us knew if it had a safety feature like that or if I broke the trans.
I’d never be able to do this intentionally. Though there was one time my friend and I were in her 08 Toyota, and she accidentally bumped the transmission into reverse on the highway. I was wondering why it felt like it suddenly had no power, then I looked over and had a heart attack lol
Lol that's nothing though it happened two times to me once I forgot my old car is 5 mt so i put it into reverse lol 😂😂 2nd time once I told my friend who is psycho I told him that once 'going on highway the next car due to an animal suprising showing up my father put the car into 2nd gear from 5th at 100 while breaking heavily ' So when he heard he was like what happens if we put it in reverse we were literally at 130 on expressway he without any notice told me what happened if we put it in reverse and proceeds to do that and I couldn't even say idk My balls were in mouth i know for certain we were without belts too 😂 Well nothing happened car screamed like hell and skit then he instantly put it back into 4/ 5 as the case may be
The backup camera function is controlled by a switch that is activated once the lever is put in the reverse position like your backup lamps. You could bypass the switch with an added switch on the dash to turn it on with out messing with the transmission lever.
How don’t people know this. Most cars with back up cams have those buttons. SMH. Common sense people. I blame the education system. People are just becoming less intelligent these days. I’m even a victim. SMH.
The alternative to this is usually that the transmission won't budge at all. Most cars require you to at least be stepping on the brake. In the event that you can actually put your car in reverse while in gear, it's pretty much what you'd expect. You'll tear your transmission to shreds, and at the very least will lose your reverse gear if not the entire transmission. Pretty sure with these the computer tracks RPM and brake usage. When you are driving and set it into reverse, I imagine when you step on the brake it will switch gears once the RPM reaches an acceptable level to make it safe to do so. Not good practice regardless.
Nope but close most cars requires the mph to be lower than 5mph for it to be put in reverse, I know this because I do it all the time when parking rentals
Lol only required brake application is from park after that you can shift any gear u want and if you know what to do it will engage reverse while moving forward I don't advise it though cause we'll let's just say transmission fluid is red and another of shrapnel in a red blob on the ground raises a lot of questions that are not easy to explain
In manual either it locks you out or you grind the gears In case that you manage to push it in and not grind the whole gear, you can make the engine spin in reverse Probably won't fire up again after that.
@Kostka_Bruhowa just have to be fast and shove it in I drove one if the farm trucks for a year without any brakes and the only way to stop was push the clutch and slam it into reverse and give it a lot of gas the clutch was dead at the end if the year but it was a pretty kych dead truck to start with I was just using it till it died
To all curious people, please do not this. Not all cars react the same way. You have a family that cares for you and would prefer you to think safety first.
Singly the worst kind of unsafe driver: intentionally recording herself driving, while in the process testing to see if the car is going to be totaled.

He was a well known and rich doctor so he didn’t care about anything. He blew many gearboxes doing that shit and died of alcoholism.

I always have that fear of accidentally switching to reverse when driving on the highway. I’m glad that modern cars have that safety feature
Fear no more!
“Nerving”? we have enough words already thanks.
Lol
“I’m not a crazy psychopath”
*says the one that put their car in reverse with a broken radio screen* 💀💀💀💀
That cracked screen is definitely a road rage reaction lol
"I was going to try this at 120 mph, but for safety's sake, I'm going to do it at 65."
You need a manual transmission to actually get it to go into reverse while driving. It will take an extraordinary amount of effort to get it to go in though.
A pair of French UA-camrs attempted it ua-cam.com/video/6wMVPPh5sSA/v-deo.html
On most manual cars the computer can still activate the clutch if you go in reverse while driving so you still won't destroy things
@@fool4563 I accidentally shifted from 5 gear to Reverse Gear. I had a gaming setup with 6 gears, my car only has 5 gears (manual transmission). So I accidentally shifted from 5 to reverse thinking of the 6 gear I had on my gaming setup. Well... I had the clutch pressed down and the transmission made a horrible noise... And then I knew I f*cked up. But it doesn't seem to have killed the transmission car still drives fine I guess. PS: I had the clutched pressed the whole time. There is normally a mechanism which doesn't let you shift from 5th to reverse but I simply went into neutral and then reverse
@@DeepRacer-zr4yp its a gaming setup LMAO try it irl buddy
@@tatescholarmorpheus you obviously didn't read what he said, he did it irl, the reason he did it irl is because his gaming setup has 6 gears but his actual car only has 5
"Im not a psychopath..." says the menopausal woman driving 60 mph about to put her car into reverse for no good reason 😃
It's wonderful to think that while im trying my best to get my family home safe, there are people making UA-cam videos "wondering what happens when they throw their car in reverse going 64 mph". What an absolute waste of skin.
Wow! I bet that was scary!
I asked myself, "who would attempt such a stupid thing?". Then I saw the smashed screen and all was answered.

imagine you're in the car with someone and they say "wanna see something cool?" and then they proceed to put it in reverse at 85 miles an hour.
Good times! 😂
I’d never be able to do this intentionally. Though there was one time my friend and I were in her 08 Toyota, and she accidentally bumped the transmission into reverse on the highway. I was wondering why it felt like it suddenly had no power, then I looked over and had a heart attack lol
OMG!
Lol that's nothing though it happened two times to me once I forgot my old car is 5 mt so i put it into reverse lol 😂😂
2nd time once I told my friend who is psycho I told him that once 'going on highway the next car due to an animal suprising showing up my father put the car into 2nd gear from 5th at 100 while breaking heavily '
So when he heard he was like what happens if we put it in reverse we were literally at 130 on expressway he without any notice told me what happened if we put it in reverse and proceeds to do that and I couldn't even say idk
My balls were in mouth i know for certain we were without belts too 😂
Well nothing happened car screamed like hell and skit then he instantly put it back into 4/ 5 as the case may be

The backup camera function is controlled by a switch that is activated once the lever is put in the reverse position like your backup lamps.
You could bypass the switch with an added switch on the dash to turn it on with out messing with the transmission lever.
Good to know
How don’t people know this. Most cars with back up cams have those buttons. SMH. Common sense people. I blame the education system. People are just becoming less intelligent these days. I’m even a victim. SMH.

Those intrusive thoughts can be very bad for your health lol.
@@thewhiteman02 Well you shouldn’t be doing that all the time.
Lol only required brake application is from park after that you can shift any gear u want and if you know what to do it will engage reverse while moving forward I don't advise it though cause we'll let's just say transmission fluid is red and another of shrapnel in a red blob on the ground raises a lot of questions that are not easy to explain
In manual either it locks you out or you grind the gears
In case that you manage to push it in and not grind the whole gear, you can make the engine spin in reverse
Probably won't fire up again after that.

How u can tell it’s a woman driving the car:
- Screen is cracked
- Putting into reverse on the freeway
- Recording one handed whilst driving
The cracked radio says it all
“I’m not a crazy psychopath”
**clearly murdered someone bashing their head into the infotainment screen**
Lol! 🥸
I love how noone is talking about the busted screen
facts how does that happen, and at least keep the car clean
That was from putting her car in reverse while driving and her head smashing into it hence why she sounds so stupid
literally everyone is
Hear me out, imagine doing this to a tailgater, and they see the reverse lights pop on.
I was so tensed up waiting for her to ruin her transmission then breathed a sigh of relief when the car stayed in neutral 😂
Thanks for watching!
Transmission shop must love you guys

To all curious people, please do not this. Not all cars react the same way. You have a family that cares for you and would prefer you to think safety first.
Thank you for your concern! Stay safe!

Lol that would be amazing! Like Ferris Buller!
Before even finishing the video, how do you crack the screen in your car? You can’t drop it like a phone
My thought exactly
I have the exact same question...
They break easier then you think………have you heard the song “Bubba shot the jukebox” lol
Simple answer.. woman driving 😂
She did this, & yet you still put cracking the screen past her?
she got the Camry driver energy lol. they always find a new ways to crash their car
Singly the worst kind of unsafe driver: intentionally recording herself driving, while in the process testing to see if the car is going to be totaled.
Wow you have it all figured out and you weren’t even there lol 😂
If she could think of doing this, she probably also found a way to drop the car to test if her screen would break
This is the craziest thing I've seen in a while....like even if it does work, way to DESTROY A TRANSMISSION 🙃
Bro let his intrusive thoughts win
There’s a story on my family of a husband of my dad’s aunt that he used to do this to many of his automatic ford mustangs when he was very drunk, but it was on purpose not because he mistook. That was in the early 70’s here in Guadalajara, Mexico. He was a well known and rich doctor so he didn’t care about anything. He blew many gearboxes doing that shit and died of alcoholism.
Wow! That’s pretty sad😮
These are the kinds of people we share the road with. Harrowing to think about.
Well, it's good to see that she takes really good care of that car otherwise
This video legit had me on edge for a minute

You only need to tell people you're not a crazy psychopath if you actually are one.
