Hi Laurie! Great tips as always! I've flown twice this month and both times TSA requested that we do not remove items from our carryon bags. I was even prepared to unload the items. I guess, bottom line, be kind to TSA and listen to them. Happy travels!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie please do a flying solo! For teenagers I have anxiety;-; so I am very nervous and it’s my first time flying solo I am flying to LA I want to know what I can bring since I want to bring Dango for my family to try. So I am nervous. If I’m allowed it says I can online but I just want to make sure here. And who I can talk to ask questions and stuff thank you!
You sound like a true airline employee when you thank us and say I know you have options. I love your videos! Can't wait for my next plane ride to Orlando in November.
Hello. I’m flying again in June for the first time in over 30 years 😩. Your videos are soooo helpful and informative. Im sharing them with my sisters who are traveling with me. Thanks so much
I rather take my clothes off than gettpat down. Thank you for spreading kindness. You're right TSA agents are just doing their jobs and we don't have to see them again. Kindness is contagious.
I'm so glad that my sister referred me to you. These tips are great! I was wondering what changed since the last time I flew. I'm glad that we can bring sanitizer separate from the rest of the liquids. Thanks for sharing!
Hello! I am the over-prepared, anxious, punctual traveler. I appreciate your videos! Can u make a tips and tricks video on anything u think can ease travel?
2 sleeps and a wakeup! SO needed this information - thank you!. Heading to Edinburgh and six other countries on Thursday. First travel since 2019. Woohoo!
Hey Laurie! I've never been on a air plane my whole life and around a weeks go, my parents surprised me and my brother with a trip to Florida THIS may, I've been worried about how to pack and such so I googled traveling guides and found this amazing channel, I've been watching and learning all about travel thank to you ❤ Hope you have a great day and I am most definitely gonna keep watching for more tips!
I always enjoy watching and learning from your tips. We never flew often but your tips are great and can be applied to road trips too. I’ve made many notes, rewatch many of your videos and will be ready when we can fly again. So looking forward to the “normal”. Thanks for doing these and helping us all.
Hi Laurie, this was exactly what I was looking for. I'm traveling the Friday for the first time in years due to health concerns. This video was awesome. Thank You so much.
Great info, as always. Interesting thing to note. Different airports and different lines at the airport may have different rules. When I flew from San Diego to Dallas in December, the security line I went through had me out my shoes and jacket in a bin. They wanted me to leave everything (laptop, iPad, snacks) in my carry on bag. The only thing I pulled out was the liquids bag. I don’t know why this line was different, but I was thrilled to be able to get through security so easily. I did have to step back and lower my mask for them to compare my face and photo id when I showed my ticket.
The whole taking food out can be taken to an extreme. We were behind a lovely young lady flying oversees for extended work. She had filled her carryon with food (like pop tarts) that she would miss while overseas. TSA made her empty it into gray bin. It was comical. Felt badly for young lady. I love Precheck!!!
Ooh, that would be funny but seem very silly. And in other airports they are not making people take out anything. Different tech, officers and threat level I guess. Thank you for watching!
I found that in new York and in a few other states, they have non-driver id’s. People of any age can get these, even if your under 18. They also come in real id’s and enhanced id’s, so for 2023 you can travel with one.
Thank you so much Laurie! I’ve watched just about all of your videos and took notes too 🤣 I’ve flown a few times but always with others. I traveled from ATL to NOLA last weekend for a girls trip (we’re all vaccinated and still followed CDC guidelines!) by myself for the first time and was so nervous but the whole airport experience was so smooth thanks to your advice. Hope you’re staying cool as Texas starts to warm up and are doing well ☺️
Oh I'm thrilled for you! The airports, airlines and businesses are doing such a great job with helping people feel safer and cleaner. People are busing out these days so I'm so glad to help. I need a girls trip too. Supposed to be 90 tomorrow!
My 28 year old son suffers from agoraphobia and anxiety. He recently travelled to the UK from the US and if he can do it, you can do it! May you enjoy the adventure!
Laurie, I have to say you are the best and you have the best channel for all travel information. Since I've begun traveling again I have seen searching on UA-cam for information and ideas. After viewing many videos, yours are by far the best I've found. Adding the links to clothing, accessories, technology accessories, and all of the important TSA information, I no longer search other channels. Thank you so much for your great content. Yes I'm a fan🌹✈️💝
I'm fly internationally for the first time in Dec (🇺🇸to🇩🇪) and I'm not checking a bag (I don't want to pay/ deal with the stress of figuring out if I need to to re-check my bag @ my layovers) so I'm very thankful for your videos
Another great video, but there have been a few changes. TSA is starting to field a new x-ray machines that makes removing electronics, liquids, and food items obsolete. I know it's going to sound strange to hear us say "leave every thing in your bags". The down side is every thing has to go in the bins shoes, bags, ect.., nothing on the belt.. It does take a little longer, but there is less chance of having your bags searched. One side note not all airports have the new x-rays. The best way to tell it's much larger than the older ones and it's grey and blue in color.
Wow ♥️♥️ thank you so much My autistic son really needs very specific instructions and your amazing videos bring us calmness and confidence with our preparations😊
I was on 14 flights last year 2020 from March through December, Once, since 2021 started, 3 trips out of the country several within the US. I didn't have any issues with carryon, liquids, my meals, my wine/champagne or under seat bags on United, American, Alaska nor Southwest. My boyfriend had his duffel bag taken to be checked in on a return leg from Mexico last June because it didn't fit but other than that my Delsey Carryon and my Samsonite (17") underseat bag no issues. I also took a personal bag with my purse in it, about the size of a beach bag on the flights I booked in business or first class (more luggage options). In fact the flight teams and tsa were way more lenient, than I experienced in the years prior. I am a TSA-PRE traveler though. Even when the TSA-PRE lines were closed during the pandemic, they gave me a laminated card to slip to the front of the standard line without hassles. I bought "trip wipes" individually wrapped that I bought in bulk, I also took hand sanitizer and several masks in my purse. I took my tinctures (an entire quart bag) in addition to my other liquids. I found most everyone to be very kind and considerate.
Yes yes yes! We have loved traveling and felt very safe over the last year. So glad you had Good experiences. I also think they're being way lenient-so maybe not alot of high threats right now. Thanks for watching!
Wonderful reminders all around. I learn something new every video you put out ... the pocket thing was new to me. My hubby always has a load of tissues in his pockets and I never realized that is what is going on with his check through. If I could bother you - where did you get the black and white striped back pack - I love the brighter lining and it looks a perfect size for me - I prefer a back pack as personal item. Thanks so much. Keep them coming We all need the help
This was new for me, too! I’ll have to keep it in mind. I’m traveling next week for the first time since 2019, and I’m very nervous, so I’ve been bingeing Travel Tips by Laurie!
Awesome Awesome Video! Thank you for all of the information and helping to clear up the mystery that is TSA! 😂 I appreciate all that you do and keep these great videos coming please!!! Cheers!
Just wanted to say hello from one Georgia girl to another. I love your videos and I’m using them to prepare myself for the first trip in three years. I’m leaving in a few days for Ireland so I’m relying on you girl.
Thanks for the tips! I just found your channel, so I will have to binge-watch you before I travel next week. I haven't flown since before Covid. I have one of the cleanest, most boring records on the planet, but TSA will often pull my carry-on bag aside to search extensively when all it contains is a camera, phone charger, and my legal, properly labeled prescription (for blood pressure - not something people would want). No idea why. I'm always worried that someone will steal my wallet phone, and iPad before I can get to the bins, but it's good to know those smaller items can now stay in the bag. I just applied for pre-check. Hopefully that makes things easier...(?)
Yes it may. My coffee always gets pulled for screening even if I place it in the gray bin. Maybe it is your name? No telling! Stay patient and maybe arrive earlier.
Hey Laurie! I love your channel and I’ve been watching you since I was 8 (4yrs ago). I’ve always had a passion for traveling, sometimes even the thought of waiting in security lines excites me 😂
Hi Laurie, or hey as you say😁. I’ve been sharing so many of your packing tips with my nieces as we’re traveling with their kids and baby for the first time. The changes in TSA are especially helpful ‘cause we don’t want to start our trip on the wrong foot. Thank you thank you THANK YOU 😍
I subscribed after the first time I saw your video and have never been informed of upcoming videos. I just wait till they hit UA-cam and hope I don't miss anything. You have very informative videos.
Girl, I’ve never flown before and I’m going to be going to Texas in August! Just found your channel and your videos put me in such ease about the whole process! Learning so much! Thank you! (Also: you look a little bit like Catherine O’Hara and it’s amazing 💖)
Love your videos and now doing some binging on those I missed. First trip to Pensacola, FL through Atlanta, and first time trying Red Eye so hoping I can sleep a bit! Last year when I was told not to take off my shoes and got through security quite fast. Of course, the 1 hour plus wait in line wasn't fun, but not horrid either. I am expecting the same type of delay so getting to airport 3 hours before boarding . I'd rather be early than anxious.😇
Hi Laurie! Happy Friday! Thanks for all of the info. With all your tips, I feel confident I'll make it through the TSA line with no problems on my next trip. Have a good weekend Laurie and the community. Safe travels everyone!🛫🌎
I have been watching your videos for 2 days now, it has been a while since I've traveled(first-time going solo), so this will be very helpful for me. Knowing me, I will be watching again the day before my flight.
Hi 👋 I am supposed to go to Hawaii the end of May, I'm super excited but I'm sooo nervous! This is the 1st time my son, mother and I have ever been on a plain. I am so nervous that I will be do something wrong! I'm learning EVERYTHING for the 1st time and your videos have been sooo helpful!❤ I want to THANK YOU for these videos. I have been binge-watching them and sharing with my family. You're great by the way 🤗 thanks again.
By researching now, you are going to be so confident! It will be amazing. I have a video called First Time Flying that should help too. Just do not be in a hurry so get to the airport early-like 2 hours before your flight.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie with you videos I do believe that I will be ready to go, just keeping up with TSA changes will be one thing haha. Do you have a video on the things to pack in a check in bag? I will have a personal bag and a check in bag( I think that's right)
Good video! Definitely informative especially for beginners like me. I have one question and that is should I take out my hair straightener out from my carry on. Like is that consider and electronic bigger than my phone? Or is that just for laptops, tablets and so on
I wanted to say thank you for your tips. I have not been flying in years and your tips have helped me out for my trip. I hopefully will be organized and ready to go through security.
FYI, TSA reversed an earlier posting that said they'd allow full-size sunscreen in carry on bags. Now, they've reversed it. “Our website incorrectly reported that sunscreen containers larger than 3.4 oz. were allowed in carry-on bags, if medically necessary. That error has been corrected,” the agency said in a statement. “Travelers still need to ensure liquids, gels and aerosols in carry-on bags meet the 3-1-1 requirements and are no larger than 3.4 ounces.”
Thank you for this video, I haven't been on a plane since 2012. I have a upcoming trip in July this video plus the links were very helpful. You earned a new subbie😊
I'm flying in a few weeks and haven't for ... a long time. Super anxious and you are really helping with that so thanks!! I'm trying to pack for a week in a personal item :) goals!
HI Laurie! Learning a lot from your videos. I haven't trabeled by plain in over a year. I think I saw one of your videos long time ago. I will.be traveling in about 2 weeks and learning what os ok.amd what is new is VERY HELPFUL for me.
I'm a seasoned traveler, but always learn something new from your videos! I love how you get right into your topic without a lot of wasted introductory talk. I have one question. My husband and I had just gotten Global Entry right before Covid started. Since it is good for 5 years, do you know if there has been any extension on expiration since most global travel has not been possible? Thank you and thank you for your wonderful videos! I will be watching this one before our next European trip, hopefully soon!
UA-cam likes it when I get straight to the point too lol. Algorithm. That is a very Good question. Hmmmm I don't know who to ask either. Thanks for watching!
Hi Laurie! Thank you so much! I’m flying for the first time AND I’ll be by myself. Heading from NY to TX to visit my boyfriend who moved there in May. You are so helpful and I appreciate your videos!:)
Love your videos! I have not flown internationally EVER and will be doing so this year I am so grateful for your information. Any international travel suggestions for airports would be appreciated.
Thank you for the help, I've been stressing trying to learn everything new since going to see some older family and had got the tickets before the numbers jumped back up.
No pressure ♥️🤔♥️ would you mock/demo the actual "unload" at the security check point. All your videos are so helpful and I truly appreciate your time and work 🥰 thank you
Great reminders, thanks! Is that personal item bag new? It looks amazing and adorable but I don't see a link to it. (Thanks for always providing links though ☺)
I am traveling alone internationally for the first time in my life and I swear your channel has been a Godsend! Thank you Laurie!
Yay! I would love to try that and applaude you!
I’m so nervous for my first flight this august ahh i hate any social interaction or causing trouble for people so I have to pack 100 percent right 😂
If you get there 2 hours prior to boarding time, you will not feel rushed so that may help.
How was your flight?

Happened to me too. One airport even told us to keep our shoes on and just keep going!
I flew 14 times in 2020, once already this year. I was also told NOT to remove items from my carryon. I didn't even have to remove my tablet/laptop.
Thanks for sharing!! Yes, several are trying different things. It is such a gift when they say that. Thanks for watching!

Great suggestion! That's a hard one. What is one idea? I do have this video: bit.ly/NotBeScaredToFly
I have to smile when at the end of the videos you say, 'I know you have options'...just like an airline pilot says at the end of every flight.
That is so funny. I did not know the pilots said this. I will have to listen next time I fly
Haha you caught that. I have now said it in my last 2. But it is true, right?
“I really appreciate your time, I know you have options” that is so sweet lol

Hi 👋 I am supposed to go to Hawaii the end of May, I'm super excited but I'm sooo nervous! This is the 1st time my son, mother and I have ever been on a plain. I am so nervous that I will be do something wrong! I'm learning EVERYTHING for the 1st time and your videos have been sooo helpful!❤
I want to THANK YOU for these videos.
I will have a personal bag and a check in bag( I think that's right)
thank you for your website. Anything to make travel less stressful is so helpful
Tony
Absolutely!
Thanks for the tips. Always so helpful.
You are so welcome!
See I did not know the pocket items rule before. This is why videos like these are very important
Good video! Definitely informative especially for beginners like me. I have one question and that is should I take out my hair straightener out from my carry on. Like is that consider and electronic bigger than my phone? Or is that just for laptops, tablets and so on
Hi, you do not need to take it out. Here are my most asked qus: bit.ly/MostAskedTravelQuestions
I wanted to say thank you for your tips. I have not been flying in years and your tips have helped me out for my trip. I hopefully will be organized and ready to go through security.
I'm so glad! Have a glorious time. Thank you for watching!
Yes, I heard. I asked them and they answered that their website made a mistake. I'm making a reel tomorrow about it on Instagram.
This is so helpful! In May, we're flying for the first time since the pandemic began.
Oh nice! It'll go great! Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for this video!! I haven't flown in 8 years and I will be flying soon with three kids. So informative,

Hi, I just purchased the personal item bag in the color blue. I can’t wait to use it.
Thank you ❤️
I hope you like it! But return it if you do not. Have fun.

Thank you for the help, I've been stressing trying to learn everything new since going to see some older family and had got the tickets before the numbers jumped back up.
You'll be totally fine. The airplane is very safe surprisingly.
Look forward to each video, they are great. Loving that new backpack, may have to add it to my travel essentials.
Thanks for watching! It has tons of storage but I wish the fabric was softer. It's not rough, but it's not smooth. I am keeping it.
Thank you! I'll be traveling back to the States around June, & am more anxious due to my flight having a Layover.
Oh, how long is the layover? Thanks for watching!
So very helpful, Miss Laurie! TYSM.

Hi thanks so much for your tip on packing horizontal...I never knew either it takes up less room.
Depends on the shape of the bag and containers - my containers fit better in my bag when they're vertical, but Laurie's fit better in hers horizontal.
Hip hip hooray!
I will be flying soon I’ve been watching plenty of packing videos especially from your channel
Awesome! Thank you!
Always great tips!
Glad you like them!
