As someone who has 9 Flex tools that I use most of them on a daily basis, I have been very impressed with the products and try and tell people not to write Flex off. Competition in the marketplace is a good thing and it pushes innovation. I am extremely excited for the router and that mid torque impact for my line of work.
Thats awesome you have had good success with Flex as well. I agree, competition makes everyone else better. The router is impressive as all get out. I still have not had the opportunity to use the mid torque, but i have been using the sander for 2 days straight and i can say its incredible. That sander will blow you away.
That router is a game changer. I love it. Normally I'm hopping the bigger guns but this has totally changed my mind about trim routers. What an incredible tool
Man no kidding! We love it too. We have only gotten to use it a few times so far, but man it's so nice.
What is the feed back on this router since it has been 5 months of use?
@@NonaNona-zh4mt I still love it. I really do. The only thing it, it's a bit top heavy but I solved that with lighter batteries. The easy change collet is a life saver. One wrench since you can lock the shaft completely so it doesn't spin. Dust collection is fine. Nothing but praise -> and yes, it takes a drop (not that that ever happened of course).
The mid torque was tested on another channel and managed to break nuts loose clear up to 950 ft/lbs. Took about 10-12 seconds to break it loose, but it did it. I think actual tightening torque was 530 to 540 ft/lbs
Very cool! And impressive. The size is definitely nice and fits our needs better on a jobsite. The high torque is wonderful in the shop though.
Good point on how Flex gives the consumer a 160w charger and simultaneous Multi-Charger straight out of the gate. Other companies have been jerking us around for years. Flex’s innovation this early is mind-blowing impressive. Imagine what their 2nd gen tools will be. Great Vid and I’m definitely subscribing.
Appreciate the support! What's the point in A next Gen? This ain't Milwaukee. It seems to me like Flex has got it right the first time! I still haven't had a single failure.
I switched to Flex last fall. It is the best decision I've made while buying tools.
Man that's great to here! I feel the same way. I love their stuff. So powerful and fast charging!
I own a few Flex tools as well, they are the best tools I've ever had. Haven't had even one single problem with any of them.
The first kit I bought the batteries had leaked a bit but after cleaning them they worked awesome, didn't go bad or stop working or anything like that.
Looking forward to the inspection light.
Hoping the come out with a track saw!
I’d love to see an inline 7 1/4 saw for a deeper cut and a tracksaw. Nailers have to come before people will really switch out it’s hard to justify switching without everything you need.
I told them I hope they don't ever come out with nailers. I told them to avoid producing them. All the other battery powered nailers as a whole are horrible. Paslode or nothing for me. Track saw and other essentials will be coming I'm sure.
@miillersconstruction lol too late. They're releasing an 18ga nailer in February I believe. Actually looks pretty legit in the reviews so far. The 10" table saw... omg I can't wait!
@@AltruisticWarriorhave you been using any FLEX tools?
@@NonaNona-zh4mt yes. I own nearly every one of them minus the band saw. Have no issues thus far.
We need them to make a table saw and a chop saw!
Man I can absolutely get behind that!
@@miillersconstruction Or better yet make some hand tools, corded tools, and electric ratchets
I have several FLEX tools and love them. Great tools. And can use any of their batteries on any of their tools.
Man that's awesome you love them! We've had great success with them as well.
Every flex tool I buy, I’m impressed by; whether it’s build quality, features or intuitiveness (or all 3).
As a sparky, I’m watching those joist drills like a hawk. I need to see it go up against the Milwaukee hole hawg & the dewalt joist drill before I make this purchase!
The biggest factors for my purchase will be kickback technology, power and features.
The kickback is something that's very important to me as well. I still haven't had a chance to use them yet. Soon though,..
Have you bought the bandsaws from an online retailer yet?
@JayRu594 Now’s the time to buy! You can get the right angle hole hog as a free tool if you pickup the 3.5AH stacked lithium battery starter kit for only $199 from Ohio Power Tool. That’s an insane price for this deal, because the drill goes for $299 by itself! Deal runs till 8/18/2023
I just got the deal so it’s still available.
@@El_Diablo_LI man that's a crazy good deal
@@El_Diablo_LI thanks to you I was able to take advantage of the deal
I'm really excited about that new light! 1000 lumens is crazy and it seems compact enough. I have the Milwaukee m12 underbody light with 1200 lumens which i love, but I'm not a mechanic; just a DIYer (occasional PC builder and mediocre furniture builder) that likes to have a very bright flashlight when needed. I just started my tool collection about 3 years ago and finally picked up some power tools last year (I'm on the Milwaukee m12 line) and flex has caught my attention with their innovation and power! I would love this one since it is smaller and easier to carry in my tool bag. It would be a good excuse to get into the flex tool line! (I'm also looking into their reciprocating saw) Hopefully it is on sale during the holidays or is included as a free gift with purchase in some sort of bundle! Thank you for the video, just subscribed!
Yes the light is fantastic. Very bright and good quality feel to it. I have been using it to hang from the hood of vehicles when I'm looking at the engine or working on it occasionally (I'm not a mechanic). The reciprocating saw from Flex is by far the most powerful recip I've ever used. I would put it up against any other saw on the market. It's also ridiculously smooth.
Can't wait for the router
I recently got into the flex line and the tools are good my only issue was the stack pack. There are so many add ons and mods to choose from but using the ones that go inside the case and the ones that mount to the inner lid is just not gonna happen. I was bummed because I saw the ability to mount my bits and charge my batteries with the lid while on the bottom portion have battery holders and my tools, The only thing missing was a small add on to hold brad nails, other fasteners and maybe a usb-c cord to charge something with the 24V fan. FLEX has so much innovation and I know they'll keep growing but the they need a compact version of their Fast charger allowing the bit case to open at least 90 degrees to easily reach all the driver bits in the case.
Currenty I own the 18 GA brad nailer, the 8.5" stack pack fan, and the Cordless router, with the 12 inch miter saw coming in the future (once the price lowers later this year). I started moving toward ridgid because of the lifetime servicing but I hear if you "use your tools too much" they may consider the issue wear and tear and not cover it. Hasn't happened to me yet but I want FLEX's lifetime warranty for these heavy work tools. The only flex tool I'm on the fence with is the Multi tool because I got the m12 fuel not too long ago and I'm not a fan of the Flex's starlock system.
Yeah I hear where your coming from on the stack pack stuff. I really like the system, but overall I like the drawers. They are my go to. As for the lifetime warranty, yeah you are not going to have that issue with Flex. The flex multitool is the best one I have ever used. Once you go starlock, you will never go back. I had starlock even on my old bosch and loved it.
@@miillersconstruction right now the flex multi tool is on amazon for 168 kitted with a charger, 2.5 ah battery and a bag. I gotta ask, how's the vibration on it with hard wood? Milwaukee vibration isolation is solid. like the ridgid cordless ratchet, the flex multi tool has the battery on the belly, I was a bit concerned since my m12 is thin I can get right up to the wall without the battery being in the way cutting flush against the wall
@@TOOL_TECHNICAL I feel like vibration suppression is pretty dang good. Power is definitely right on par with Milwaukee.
I have alot of flex tools. There tools are heavy duty powerful.
i literally came to watch for the light. Most versatile tool in your tool box.
Man I should've done more on the light then lol
@@miillersconstruction just got my mid torque. Man, I didn't realize the housing was made mostly of metal.
@@ProxyFinal which tells me I'm not doing my job lol! I should've showed that up close and personal. I've got to do a better job of showing the tools man. I'm gonna work on that. What's your thoughts on it? Have you used it yet?
@@miillersconstruction just got my light. Not that expensive.
@@ProxyFinal Awesome man! I hope you like it.
Calling bs on not having issues.. I put them through the ringer and had battery’s go bad
Call it that all you want. I've been very public about this on my Instagram account. I show the tools being used 5 days a week. Not a single issue and I own every flex tool sold. It's nice to know that if/when I do have an issue, I've got a lifetime warranty on the tool, battery, and charger.
3 bad batteries leaking acid and won’t charge, two of the 5.0, one 8.0.
@@blainesullivan9637 exactly
What is a good combo kit to buy when building metal to wood and or concrete about to buld a cabin and metal frame work shop
Man that's a difficult question to answer. I use on average three different drivers for metal to wood fasteners. All three serve a different purpose or need. One is lighter weight and great for just a few screws in awkward positions. The other is great when consistency is important such as when I'm installing row after row of fasteners in the field. The other I use for stitch screws and various other applications. I can't narrow it down to just one combo kit. I will say this though - the new flex compact driver and drill combo is fantastic and will do most of those tasks.
@miillersconstruction Thanks for your quick response
199 kit 2 batteries impact and drill
I'm in too many platforms. I mostly own Milwaukee but have many Dewalt, Bosch, Metabo HPT and recently Flex
How do you rank them?
Flex need to make a hand wood planer
I could not agree more with you.
Do you think they will come out with a plunge attachment for the router?
I doubt that. A bigger ½" plunge router? Very possible.
@@miillersconstruction anotherwords its outside of the intended design/purpose of a 1/4 cordless portable router?
There has to be another way to make flutes in wood without the plunge function? Some kind of drill bit that could be used in a drill press to establish a starting point for a router to finish a flute.....some flat head drill bit and a drill press?
I’ve had my flex tools for six months and two of my batteries are leaking this black goo. If this is gonna be a regular problem, then I’m done with flex tools.
I would be contacting them. I haven't had a single problem. I use them 5 days a week. Used them today.
I've been using flex tools for the past 4 months every other day. I've had 5 flex batteries leaking black fluid. Flex customer service sent out replacement batteries under warranty. They weren't able to tell me if the black fluid leaking issue has been resolved or not.
@@treadwaysl1 I'm thinking it must've been a bad batch of batteries. I've been using them 5 days a week for over 2 years and have not experienced this. We're using the Flex Radio right now on this job even though we're just painting.
I have an old craftsman router that has the same feature
That's cool. It's cordless?
Thanks! Great review of Flex tools. I now own the grinder and 1/4 impact driver. Excellent premium quality feel and build quality. Batteries and chargers are class leading. Looking forward to following you on Instagram.
Thanks for checking out the video man! Yeah I'm using Flex tools daily on my Instagram channel in my stories.
good vid..
Thanks!
can anyone explain flex tools wacky pricing??
What's wacky about the pricing?
A framing gun 24v !
I just wish they were a bit lighter
Yeah I can understand that for sure. Have you tried the new compact lineup? I have been impressed.
@@miillersconstruction I haven’t checked it out yet, it’s something they need for sure! Otherwise the quality is outstanding
I. Have over 32 pieces of FLEX no issues
Man that's awesome!
@@miillersconstruction l would like to see the quality of the FLEX sander, I have always noticed most if not all cordless sanders are bad with numbing vibrations on long use. I think the best sander in the world is Mafell not even Festool comes close but corded. Since you know sander let me know what you come up with?
@@rickyperkins232 I actually just filmed a video using the sander. I used it for two full days. It's much faster at removing material than the Bosch cordless, but vibrates a little more. It's not on the same level as festool or Mirka by any means, but for what it is at $150, I think it's a great addition to the flex lineup. Dust collection is better than the Bosch as well.
@@miillersconstruction did you upload the video already?
@@rickyperkins232 I have not but I will soon. Be on the lookout
Did you buy all these tools or flex is sponsoring you?
I just love Flax tools. A sponsorship would be awesome though.
@@miillersconstruction i appreciate your videos been learning a lot from you. Been in the pen for the last 15 yrs and finally get out next month so I'm hoping to get a job at some construction company. I love tools and construction.
What's the size on the drills?
They both have ½" chucks
@miillersconstruction I meant over all length from chuck to back if you coul I need a compact drill and I am deciding between this and milwaukee m12
@@PrimasXD123 I didn't know Milwaukee made an M12 right angle drill? Interesting. The flex compact right angle drill is 16½" in total length without a battery. That's what I'm measuring it at.
@miillersconstruction thanks
@miillersconstruction what about the regular drill on the website it shows as 5 in long but it looks bigger than the impact witch is 5.25 inches long
Ive had some bad experience with flex leaking batteries multiple tools failed got sent a new tool and it also was defective!! There heavy there trigger response is horrible on everything drill impact driver impact wrench drywall gun the saws without the stacked lithium batteries will not run like they will with the stacked lithium batteries and its what 349.00 for the 10.0 i have 3 two 8's three 5s two 6.0 and 6 2.5 ohh and two 3.5 is the best bang for your buck with drill and impact driver well most tools because they are essentially the same size as the 2.5 but without the black junk that may or maynot start fires 🔥 ive asked to talk to someone at flex and there always buisy!!!! At this point i can't recommended flex 24v tools or batterys
Interesting. I've had the exact opposite experience after using them for 2 years straight. I'm using Flex tools right now actually, just used the OMT. Not a single issue or warranty claim on my end.
@@miillersconstruction I've had them since they've came out and had several returns actually I just made a video of the batteries leaking I've brought it to there attention and it will be fixed but I've had a brand new drill sent from flex dead!! I own what 20 tools and 30 batteries. So you say you have never had to make a claim 🤔 I calm bs brother or it won't be long you will be.
What a shill
Enjoyed the video! Well done! While i do like FLEX and beginning to get into it as I LOVEEE CHERVON TOOLS ETC...FLEX HAS BEEN HAVING SERIOUS BATTERY ISSUES SINCE THEY CAME OUT!!
