- Dave reviews the TRACT TORIC UHD 4.5-30x56 riflescope. This scope boasts some pretty impressive features and specs but does it deliver? We talk about the scope in detail with a focus (pun) on the shooting experience after shooting the scope for the last few months. Another aspect discussed is TRACT Optics as they are a direct to consumer company, meaning you can't go to your local shop and check them out. We talk the company, customer service, the scope, the turrets, glass and more. If you want to get a lot of solid information about this scope, this video is for you.

I am 80 years old and I have been shooting since I was eight years old. I spent 23 years in the army, many years behind a rifle, and many years looking through a scope. I own three Tract scopes and they are three of the finest scopes I have ever owned. Great scopes.
I have two. shot the 4x25x50 out to a mile easily. Just added an Athlon Cronus BTR Gen II 4.5x29. I find it very comparable to the tract. I prefer the turrets on the Tract. The glass is too close to call, but the eyebox of the Cronus is far more forgiving. Both of these hit way above their price point. Unless your in the top competition level I see no reason to spend more.
Excellent review, thank you taking to go into such detail. This definitely could be my next scope.
Great review! Very informative and concise covering all the important factors. Thanks
Best review on this scope I have seen. Great job
Thanks, glad you liked it
Good review, enough info enough personal opinion, and yes your right that is me I like touchy feely on things I purchase.
Nice I see you're shooting at my favorite range. Great review man
Thank you! Rush lake is a great facility! Wish it was closer
Thanks for a great review! I just pulled the trigger and brought one with a veteran discount.
Great review!
Loved the video thanks !
I bought this scope and it DELIVERS THE GOODS . In addition to the quality of the scope the individual customer service is exceptional. I made several calls to them and the OWNER / DESIGNERS always answered the phone almost immidatly themselvs.also what helped turn the corner on a purchase was the Active Duty military Veteran,First Responder and Law Enforcement discount of 15%. When that discountbis factored into an already amazing price point for a scope of this quality ,well frankletbits a no brainer. Why spend a lot more on scopes of less or even equal quality when you can get a scope like this at a killer price? I also purchased the rings, scope covers and throw lever. You simply can't go wrong with thus scope.I don't know these guys except through phone calls and e mails and have no official or un official affiliation with them.
How good is it in low light? Going back n forth between this n the razor lht
Great review!! I have Tracts bottom end 22 Fire and it is heads above the comparable scopes.
I really like the reticle they used. Great review BTW!
Thanks. I really like it as well
Every morning I tell my son a joke while we’re getting ready, and every morning I get the same blank stare.. I always laugh at the joke. Keep the jokes coming! And thanks for doing all the videos!
My first experience with Tract optics is the company Toric scope 4-20x50mm30mm tube, outstanding glass. My big wish, come out with a spotter, and Tract did this year; late this year. I needed a better spotter Vortex Razor 22-48x65mm, but Tract is what I wanted, saved the bucks, and made the purchased; and it to has outstanding glass.
I agree, I can’t wait to check out their spotting scope.
What do you think of the znexus vs Track 4-20x50?
How would you compare to a Tangent Theta Gen 2
Great video. Have you by any chance had the opportunity to compare the TRACT TORIC UHD 4.5-30x56 with the Zeiss LRP S3 6-36x56mm? Particularly in terms of lens sharpness at different zoom levels and target distances?
I was supposed to get the Razor 4.5 x27 ...But this scope can do what razor can for less money..Just got one on the way..Thanks for posting.
Awesome. You’ll like it. Please let them know you saw the review
I perfer the Tract to Vortex.
How would this compare to the Sightron SIII 6-24x50mm FFP?
Very nice bro
Hi, I am struggling between this scope and Vortex Razor Gen 3. Love both, can't decide which one to get 😂😂
What a beautiful firearm!
Thanks!
I really wanted one of these but got an Athlon Midas Tac instead. When I tried looking through it into the dark corner of the yard, I immediately regretted not having an illuminated reticle.
I have the 34mm TAC as well, after 1 range trip out and getting behind the Toric 34mm - I have a Toric 34mm. It is that good.
Great review! How would you compare it to the Steiner on your bench? Not considering price just head to head quality
The Steiner is a very nice scope as well, however overall I like the tract better. Better low/high mag, turrets and glass in the day as well. The one area I want to shoot more with the tract is low light.
@@GunsandTactics thank you! That’s a pretty impressive comparison
Well reviewed, no apologies needed...sure everyone that will spend that kind of coin wants to know if the scope is actually good....price seems really attractive with the amount of features....if they had a turret revolution indicator, and a lockable eye piece diopter that would bring it on par with top scopes!?....perhaps a little bit more elevation range 120 /130 MoA, specially having a 34mm tube, they should be able to have more elevation....
If track releases this scope with Horus reticles I will totally 100% be on board!
I understand those horse reticles will add to the cost, but it’s worth paying for.
Got to love shooting in MN weather, lol. You are way tougher than me.
Just a way of life up here
I just bought a athlon aries etr 4.5 by 30 has anyone had a athlon and looked yhrew a tract to see any differance .ine has dot also
Nice scope, but I may have to put the trijicon tenmile above it in quality and value. Trijicon has top notch QC and puts everything through military style testing, comes with tenebraux caps, a built in throw lever, and you know they'll be around for years to come if you need support. Havent compared them side by side though.
I’ve got both. Both are very nice scopes glass I’d give the edge to the tract. Turrets is a tie, I like the large knobs on the tract but the tool-less zero on the Trijicon is nice. Reticle is a preference Let me know if you have specific questions
Very nice looking rifle under that glass. What is it?
🇬🇧Fantastic review. I shoot 22LR bench rest and hunting from 50 to 200 yards. I understand MOA really well and like inches and yards but there are many voices on UA-cam who say MILs is the way to go. Please could you comment. Thanks
Granted the price difference will impact your answer, how would you compare the Tract Toric to the Leupold Mark 5? Upper magnication models. Budget for build is getting thin, so simply looking for opinions regarding satisfaction if I cut here. Thanks.
I’m in the same boat with these two optics. Which did you go with and what height rings?
@@Witty76 Leupold 7-35 X 56 PR2-MOA and Hawkins medium (1.0").
I'm in Minnesota too. Where do you go to find a nice long range to stretch our toys out?? Only place in my area is member-only and the waitlist is 5+ years
What part of MN you in?

Should I upgrade to this scope? I have an Athlon ETR now with the same power.
I'm looking for a scope and checking on the Ares ETR. How is yours?
To answer ur question. Compare this scope to the Athlon Cronus. I haven't printed the #'s but they are both made in Japan by LOW.
Why did u go with an Athlon Ares ETR vs Athlon Cronus? $? ua-cam.com/video/VFpDxFdS5Oo/v-deo.html
@@martylost167 It’s not a bad scope, the glass isn’t the best at 30x power. The tracking is great though, seems like it’s well built for a scope made in china. The Cronus is from Japan. I would take the Japanese built over Chinese any day. But I’m thinking of getting rid of my etr and getting a delta 5-50.
Thinking about this vs the vortex razor lht how good is this in low light ???!!!
I used the tract in low light at a couple of classes and had no complaints, I have not looked through the new LHTs yet so I cant directly compare
What rifle and chassis do you have it mounted on the black and green rifle
That is a MPA Matrix chassis, lone peak action
$7k for an S&B 27x high power to this $1600 scope with tier 1 German Schott glass, lifetime no questions asked warranty? No brainer to me. Btw I own a S&B 3-20x50 Ultrashort which costs double this scope. S&B has a 10 yr warranty. I do wish they made it with a lower profile turrets.
What you think of the Nexus vs the Tract 4x20x50
I don't have any experience with the Nexus
What's your opinion on this scope vs the Primary Arms Platinum 6-30?
I don’t have any experience with the primary arms
@@GunsandTactics ok thank you for your honesty!
I will say this Tract still impresses me. Really nice scope and will be adding more to my other rifles
Got a review on the chasis?
Not yet, I don’t have as much time behind it as I would like before publishing a review. I generally am not a one weekend review type of guy
A $1,400 scope should shoot the f'n rifle and wash my dishes! 🍽😁
I get it. Not cheap at all. It is pretty awesome though and a bargain for what you’re getting especially in the high end glass market
$1400 is pretty competitive for an upper-mid level scope, with the Tract being competitive with scopes in the $1800-$2100 range like the Leupold Mark5 and Vortex Razor Gen2. If you think $1400 is a lot, then don’t look at the Alpha Tier scopes in the $3000-$5000 range like S&B PMII, NightForce ATACR, Tangent Theta or ZCO, or the $7800 Hensoldt.
@@GunsandTactics 1400$ for a scope of this quality is nothing. Imagine back to the late 90's and what we got for that price...it was crap compared to this. We are living in a great time for optics.
I get it, you may want to look at ARKEN scopes, less cost and a pretty good product.
1400? Did I miss a coupon code? It still sits at 1694$ (as mentioned in video).
Well I was going to get a vortex bur you convinced me otherwise
You won't be disappointed, use the link and let them know you heard about it here, they'll take great care of you
What chassis is that?
Masterpiece Arms Matrix.
^ he is correct.
GUNS & TACTICS looks very good
Why did the scarecrow receive an award??
For being out standing in his field
Nicely done
well actually I have a big compliant about this scope, which is, they don't have any dealers and distributors..... so I'm not able to buy...
They are direct to consumer. We go over this business style in the video.
If they TRACTOPTICS went through dealers and distributors the price would be Well North of $2000.00
Tract optics is top notch I would put them up against anything in 1800 to 2200 price range
@@jeremyharker5002 indeed, I think this scope can beat s&b pmII , especially the accuracy of tracking.
I’m not sure about this 2-3 mm pupils Timms, you might want to consult an expert
Sorry 2-4 in bright what I was referring to. I’m no dre or even an explorer
I'm 19 with little money looking through the window of a candy store.
