I wish my rev7 had the dedicated stems buttons for instrumental/acapella.
It's a brand new release! And I believe it's now their flagship controller. Quite honestly, given the price point, it wins out for me vs some of the more expensive motorized jogwheel controllers

Was clearing out my mum's house and found my old vestax gear from 20 years ago and wondered if I still had it, none of it worked so I went and bought a FLX4 to have a bash, man the games changed, when I see your videos like this I wonder if I ever had it, you make it look so easy! I only discovered you 3 days ago and I've already learned so much, appreciate it man. Reckon its worth getting some lessons to get up to speed again or can you figure this all out yourself?

I doesn't have as many features, but it's a whole less heavy, and quite honestly at that price point, it's the pick of the bunch for me.

You got me started with DJing a few months back but my motivation went down a bit. I don’t know if I overdid it from the start with trying to learn a lot in a short time on top catalogs and catalogs of music or something else. I wonder is it because I’m not playing for anyone other than myself? Is it my gear (DDJ-FLX4) that’s limited already with capabilities? Any suggestions to get the energy and motivation back up? I’ve read most new DJs end up giving up 6-8 months and that’s definitely not what I want to do.

This will serve you fine! Most of the little things you'll need to get used require minimal adjustment. If anything, your keyboard shortcuts will help you out in the club

I'm currently using the impulse 500 and thought to upgrade to the T7, can you give me your thoughts on this ? Is this a real upgrade to you, notably for stems controls ? Or would you recommend something a bit more advanced for the next step or even stay on my 500 ? Cheers m8

Hello DJ Carlo, I'm a total beginner in djing and watch tons of your content. I listen to metal and as exercise wanted to do transistions from Electro/pop songs to their metal counterpart. But the BPM and the Key are usually so far away from each other that I ficnd it impossible. So I'll look into it later and will focus on more simple thing.
But I was wondering, how would you do a transistion between "Everytime we touch" - Cascada to the Electric Callboy version ?

Ohhhh, that's a great way to set yourself apart! As for that, check my video on doing Epic Transitions. For example, with Cascada to Electric Callboy over there, you can raise the BPM of Cascada, then slowly bring up Electric Callboy's after you do a transition. There are multiple possible ways of doing that! :)

Hey Carlo, I have a question for you. I’ve been looking to upgrade my dj controller but can’t decide witch one to get. I’m deciding between the XDJ RX3 and the DDJ FLX10. Which one would you recommend?
Before people say that I should get the DDJ 1000 instead of FLX10 I’m just gonna say that it isn’t available anymore where I live and the second hand market for DJ equipment is very small so almost impossible to find used 1000’s here.
If you like faster mixing, go for the FLX10.

Hey, Carlo! First I want to say that's an awesome mix... loved the Tokyo Drift part. Anyway, I have a question: So I am a private event DJ in my local area and I'm trying to figure out if I should buy a new DJ controller or laptop for DJing. Currently, I have a DDJ-400 controller and an Acer Nitro 5 laptop (the controller I've had for about a year and the laptop since late December of 2020). The mixer I was looking at was the good ol' budget DDJ-FLX6 and the laptop I would buy is the Apple 15.4in MacBook Pro i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Space Gray, 2018, and renewed. From what I have seen, that controller goes for $650 and on Amazon the laptop goes for $640. As a DJ yourself, what would you do?
I'd go for the laptop. A Macbook will last you a while, and controllers are constantly on the move, with new features. Plus, I'd honestly recommend something with XLR outputs over the FLX6 haha

I don't have the REV5 yet, so I don't have an opinion on it yet. Though I'll have to say, only the Rane One & T7 are comparible due to their motorized jogwheels, and I'll need to pick the T7. Far less expensive, and it has all the features I need.

Pretty great! It's belt driven, so it actually *feels* like an old school turntable.
Is this controller good for a club?
I'd say it's pretty decent for a small club or bar, with its XLR outputs. But something with more features might be better for larger clubs and venues!

Yes, but don't forget you can also double time that to 160. There's a little more musical mathematics you can do with that 3/4 transition
