Hey guys! With augmentation evokers coming out and mages getting a re-work next week, we'll definitely be posting something more akin to a tier list once the strength of the specs have been established. However this video should still serve as a great starting point for anyone wanting to know how each ranged dps plays in Dragonflight Mythic+ dungeons.
For the mage ranking, I mainly push keys with an arcane mage in my team. Arcanes absolutely massive single target and burst AOE is allows us to trivialize some bosses and harder trash packs.

Wing buffet is pronounced like saying buff it and not the type of restaurant people gorge themselves at. Again, not trying to be pedantic, but I figured you would want to know. Fire is wrong imo. At a top level mostly dominated by holy paladins, your 3 options for lust are fire, enhancement, and devastation. Or technically hunter, but hunter doesn't exist. And most of the time, it's fire or enhancement. Or some groups running both fire and devastation with a Spriest. Devastation maybe, but being below/tied with elemental is wild. And below Destro is ridiculous. Def an A-tier spec. Even in groups with a lust healer, you still see fire mage. I also think Spriest sits alone on its throne, Balance is not the same tier. You are simply trolling if you don't have a Spriest in your comp, but not the same thing for Balance.
@@josephrankin6055 lets be real... if you need a priest... you need a spriest. the top 200 runs having 196/200 shadow priest in them isn't like that for no reason.
Everyone rips into Hunters, I've main my hunter for years (BM/SV), and even in 10.1 I've been doing +18s / Heroic Raids without any issues (Normally toping the dps charts), people just need to know how to rotate defensives and be very vigilant on inc dmg, as they're one of (if not) the most squishy classes in the game. (Also its all about keeping them frenzy stacks up on BM!)
hunters arent that squishy. they die to rot dmg but can easily handle big dmg spikes. shamans for example struggle with both. but as Chileno said, this video isnt aimed at players doing +18 or +20...its aimed at player running +24 and higher.
Hunters unfortunately have been pushed as the "solo" class for too long, it makes it almost discouraging to enter any group content due to that. They even have an ability called lone wolf (flavor win?).
Considering devastation evoker does more damage than both spriest and boomkin and got an 8/10 is silly paired with its defenses being better than druid without the damage loss plus the ability to do damage while moving, druid is without a doubt worse then evoker and saying otherwise damages the validity of the tier list.
I never have trouble joining pugs as a balance Druid. Having way too much fun with it this xpac. The biggest downside is that specs with massive front loaded damage (Devastation, dps warriors, Ret pallys) will wreck your dps in low keys. No one can touch you in high level fortified keys though.
@@dharkann if other dps are blowing up trash mobs then the boomkins dps will suffer. However, if they live long enough, boomkin will almost always top the charts on big trash pulls.
You guys are wildly underestimating the impact of Destro’s weak 3-8 target damage. That’s virtually every pull outside of a highly coordinated group. In pugging 21-24 keys, well played demo’s overall dps output is much, much more consistent. It’s 100% true that destro’s ceiling is higher but presenting it as the more accessible spec is misleading. Very much like fire mage, destro struggles a lot in lower (sub 21) keys and uncoordinated groups
Uncoordinated groups are bane of my existence, particularly tanks who just can't stop moving even if they don't need to. I'm having to stunlock packs so that I can deal aoe damage, or like in a dungeon like NL, I don't even pick aoe I just havoc cleave + ST.
The scores are disrupting the rankings. In the healer video, it is mentioned that "resto shaman have the best personal CD in the game, astral shift." However, in this video you guys say "ele shaman has a problem with survivalbility" It seems that you are assigning scores arbitrarily to justify the top ranks in Mythic+ content. Also MM hunter do have fortitude of the bear when they don't have a pet. The only thing they lack in comparison with BM is 5% leech from pet and Spirit Beast healing
as a healer you usually just need 1 defensive and you are good to go. things change when you are a dps. a healer can just top himself, a dps cant. thats why good def cds are more important on dps than on healers.
@@sinnis4993 If you check the healer tier list you will see that some healers just can't survive damage, and all classes have one or more defensives. How come you make a tier list with a high completion class like mage and rank it as B? M+ meta is not defined by random scores, as I said the score system is flawed. There's a reason you have a spriest on all keys (PI, Fort, Mass Dispell, Good damage and healer priests are bad) same with mages (AI on high magic heavy comps, best DPS lust since you are usually playing with HPal)
@@falalalaconpai1283 the reason why spriest is meta right now is because mass dispell is the most important support spell in the game this season. this can easily change next season. the meta is defined by which spec pumps the hardest. and these specs are spriest, fire mage, boomkin, devoker and sub rogue. we had a meta where warlock and sv hunter where meta (both specs have useless utility in m+) because their dmg was game breaking. utility is always #2.
Elem have awesome target priority cause of EB/EQ rotation + lightning rod. Main problem is pulls with 4 mobs, where it's a bread and butter of enh, elem can't realy use surge on pack like this, and 2 targets is just pure hell for lightning ele. +yea, 0 ways to live.
I think mage utility should be higher. Arcane intellect in a season where casters are dominant and healers struggle makes it more valuable than usual imo.
cant compete with VE, NV and AG off healing and triple caster comps are kinda troll. in theory yes, the +5% int can be huge, but dps off healing is too strong and triple caster comps arent desireable.
@@sinnis4993 On the same day as you made this comment the highest key this season was done (nelth 28) by Yipdh Dh tank, Timbermaws Paladin heal, Anarchyprst Shadow Priest, Azunaz Fire mage and Crypticdudu Moonkin druid. It does not look like triple caster comps is complete troll when you can do the highest key in the world with it.

When they even can do the very highest possible key in the world you can not make that claim you did make. In the top 60 runs 3 groups are full on triple caster comp and remember that is a ton of the same groups in that top runs. And the groups doing it are the groups that have been in the top groups in the world for several seasons. The dps spots have been very open this season with only shadow priest being the "locked" spec.
How do you go on to list about 6 -7 utilities that hunter has and give it a 4. A good hunter will use it all to make keys easier. Btw Evoker 'wing buffet' is pronounced ' buff ET'. You said it was a self serve food option 'buff A'

I absolutely hate how squishy Shamans are atm. I'm tired of dying non-stop to abilities when a cloth or leather wearer gets hit with the same ability and survives. Shamans need a survivability rework like Ret pallies got.

Nah, it's still fun to play and hope it will get some love soon again. True for higher keys it's hard to survive but still a lot of fun and good dps overal. For sure by far not the best class. But i love playing BM hunter.

Priest utility isn’t just desirable, it’s mandatory in 5 of the 8 dungeons.

not much you can do about burst damage on trash. not let it bring you down though, overall damage doesn't matter if you do good damage on bosses.

Imo druids are only s tier cause of dh tank meta other than that its an a class or u should make a s++ for spriest cause their utility is just insane
