Great analysis - that pause and breath are a part of rock history. This is one of the greatest live song vids of all time. Very hard to match the feeling this gives. Many thanks!
My thoughts exactly. I was born in 76 but thank god my parents played music all the time. Nirvana changed music on par with the Beatles. And now it's all crap
@@trumphatesyou I was born in 2003 but my parents where always listening to linkin park, nirvana, Alice In Chains, Hall & Oats, etc. I hate todays music it just sounds too generic most of the time.
Athletes have an expression, "I'm going to leave it all on the field." With this performance, Kurt left it all on the stage. The pain in his voice wasn't "performance," but his art reflecting what he carried inside.
Just sitting here patiently waiting for that switch up. No sooner did you comment about his calm voice...MY GiRLLLLL.. 🤣🤣 Every single one of us had the same reaction first time hearing this. The drummer is Dave Grohl who went on to form The Foo Fighters after Kurt's death. He too is an amazing artist who was able to attain the longevity of success with his band that Nirvana lost after Kurt took his life. Unfortunately, The Foo Fighters just lost their drummer as well, as they were touring, so I don't know what the future will hold for them or Dave now.
This song gives me shivers and tears every time I hear it. There is so much emotion and deeper pain coming to the surface... It gives the feeling of being betrayed by the one you should be able to trust the most, whom only gives avoiding answers without telling the truth.
Great reaction ☺️ Kurt Cobain was an icon for my generation, and I was deeply affected by his death. I very very rarely watch reaction videos for Nirvana, because I hold their music so close to my heart. A lot of people try to analyze Kurt with technical standards, not understanding that his goal was to share honesty and emotion. That gets lost on a lot of reactors who choose to focus on things like his less than perfect pitch. I really appreciate that you understood that. 😁 I watched this performance with a large group of friends when it first aired live on MTV. The band had never played this song before, so the scream at the end was a total surprise even for fans. When he died a couple months later, that final pause and sigh took on some serious meaning.
I agree with all of what you said minus saying this was the first time they played this song, they had played this song any times, there are videos I seen from 1989 of them playing this song but never the way they preformed it this time. Kurt definitely changed the world, gone too soon.
(I translate by google). I was a big fan of Nirvana in the 90s, now I rediscovered them a couple of months ago, and I've gone crazy because I need to listen to them on a daily basis. The MTV Unplugged concert was great, I love every single one of them in that performance. I recommend you react to a song by Krist Novoselic's band (the bassist), it's called Giants in the trees, or his latest group 3rd Secret, there's a song on UA-cam because it's new, I like both bands a lot. Greetings.
Nirvana is one of the all time great rock bands. I'd recommend reacting to Smells Like Teen Spirit next, if you haven't heard it: ua-cam.com/video/hTWKbfoikeg/v-deo.html
I absolutely love how music connects us! Girl ... I see you.... I loved watching your first reaction to this. Literally made me tear up.... Nirvana.... Kurt..... was a very special thing. 💜🎶💜🎶 Sending love to you.....
This was actually a "rendition" or cover of a song called "Where Did You You Sleep Last Night" by Leadbelly. who was an African-American blues singer. Kurt did do a great job of matching his voice.
There is a fleeting little moment before he sings the final line of the song, where he opens up his eyes and gives a little sigh. I always thought he had a moment of clarity there, perhaps deciding to commit suicide - which he did after this performance. You won't go wrong with more Nirvana.
@@ogotainment its the most expensive accoustic guitar ever sold at an auction and the most expensive electric guitar auctined is a fender he used for the smells like teen spirit video. It sold for 4.5 million. Interesting fact: the cardigan worn at this gig was auctined for 334000 dollar.
The saddest thing was that on this cold night in November, it wasn't just a song. It was a direct question to his wife. Who he knew was cheating on him.
If you, like me, saw this thumbnail and said "Oh, Jesus Christ" out loud to yourself, you are also the oldest, whitest man on the internet. Congratulations!
If you dont know who Kurt Cobain is before this, your fired. You shouldn't have a channel on You Tube. Either that or your lying on your review and do know who Nirvana and Kurt Cobain is. Not everyone needs to have a you tube channel. Canceled.
If you have to make ridiculous comments on you tube you’re fired. I’m going to go out on a limb and say the person making this reaction video doesn’t typically listen to this genre of music, I get your passion for Nirvana but it’s been almost 30 years and hate to say it but many people haven’t heard their music. I think it’s beautiful she was willing to make a reaction video to something she’s not familiar with and have a genuine and heartfelt reaction, that’s called respect, maybe you should learn something from her!… your comment is canceled!!
4:28 Ogotastic: "He has such a soft voice."
Me: "talk to me in 14 seconds."
haha just my thougt
I cant watch this without crying. He was my hero growing up. That look at 5:38....

Kurt was The John Lennon of our time. And Nirvana were The Beatles of our time! RIP Kurt! True pain, emotion, and completely raw

Saya penggemar baru Nirvana dari Indonesia ⏳
I also got the chills when he opened his eyes and took that last breath !! It was such deep feeling

I've been a huge fan for 32 years - I hope you will enjoy more of them.
Kurt's talent is something to savor for a lifetime. Gone too soon.
Kurt Cobain literally changed what mainstream music was
and mainstream music has since forgotten again

When MTV still cared about music.
This song means a lot to me in different ways
No one else's voice takes flight like Kurt's.

Came here for Nirvana, stayed for your beautiful face and perspective ❤️
Thanks so much.

Kurt did do a great job of matching his voice.
The guitar Kurt is playing here sold at one time for over 6 million dollars.
Great analasys!
Kurt was sober well in withdrawal from heroin but done the show this is him singing from his sole the pain in his voice is real
Gracias a ti Kurt ❤
True fact the guitar Kurt is playing sold for 6 million 🤟😎💯 it's the most expensive guitar out

Yes I noticed where he opened his eyes wide, I commented on it towards the end of the video.
Thanks for watching.
He committed suicide about 4 months after this performance not right after
I think so too. It's eerie R. I. P
Didnt look at all the comments. But if you think 500000$ is much. The guitar Kurt Cobain was playing here was sold in 2020 for 6.000.000$ !!!!
😲😲😲 that was too much for just a guitar!!!

Great now I gotta go ask my uncle about Leadbelly... even I’m not that old...
The saddest thing was that on this cold night in November, it wasn't just a song. It was a direct question to his wife. Who he knew was cheating on him.
Kurt kobain, april 1994 he died. And we want him back... never gona be another kurt again i think.
🤟☮️
This performance makes me cry, too emocional...
Who is Kurt? The fucking greatest. He is to music what u are to beauty
Kurt was the Kurt Cobain of our time, and Nirvana were Nirvana of our time. No need to compare to anyone but themselves.
Ya cut off too soon, baby girl. There was a little beautiful scene you didn't catch at the end of the tape. Oh well Peace.
If you, like me, saw this thumbnail and said "Oh, Jesus Christ" out loud to yourself, you are also the oldest, whitest man on the internet. Congratulations!
I mean I’m a young White man. But I realize lately that people don’t know Kurt Cobain and Nirvana as well as I thought everybody did.
Yeah we’re getting old. I remember when I was like 13 and loved the way Kurt resonated with my teenage angst. Now I’m a 40 something…sigh.
With all that screaming, not once did he stray off key. Not once.
Is it possible not to know kurt kobain????I don't believe it at all, you are a comedian for sure
The original lyrics were "Black girl" not "My girl" which I think Black girl is more powerful just not politically correct.
Courtney cheats on me song
And to know he killed himself a few days or weeks after this performance hits differently 😢 we lost a great one. R.I.P Kurt Cobain
MTV Unplugged was in november, 1993. His suicide was in april 1994.
Who is he, lol?????
Voice Bi-polar!Great Cobain!
Eternal Kurt Cobain
The funny part is that the guitar he’s playing on in this video sold for over a million dollars just recently
The story about leadbelly's guitar was a lie
