Seeing the animations compared to a real horse gives me much more appreciation for the team who worked on them! The gaits look very much inspired by real life friesians. The only animation that still looks off, imo, is the canter. I understand that the team was aiming for a dramatic, flashy gait, but I think the canter is a bit too much.
@@Alphabetwillbet I'm just comparing to the video of the real life horse shown in this video. It doesn't look exactly the same but it does look inspired in my opinion!
Part of the problem with the new one is that there's no WEIGHT to the movement. They need to ground the stride properly, and mimic the push-off inherent in the breed. Friesians were bred to be carriage horses. They have a distinct movement because of it, and you can see it in another breed as well: the Lippizaner, which was also a carriage breed. They needed that 'rear drive', that push forward from the hindquarters to pull in harness well. And THAT'S what this Friesian is missing. (Frankly, all of them are missing it, but it's most notable in the new one.) Personally, I'm not particularly pleased that they went with the modern movement for them rather than the classic/baroque (think the difference between current KFPS inspections and the handsome lad from Ladyhawke), but I can understand why they picked it. It's where the breed is at right now, it's recognizable, and it's flashy. They've got the basic mechanics of the gaits down; now they just need to smooth out the reaches/extension and ground the movement.
@@cheese_cake_factory The problem is that to SSO, this may actually BE the finished product. gen 4 isn’t a thing, gen 3.5 is only used on this new friesian to differentiate it from the old one. i assume horses released after it will be labelled gen 3, and any remakes of older gen 3’s will be 3.5
@@yarishu3525 Yes I do agree if they fixed the bugs and fitted them with the new tack they would be more worth the money. Even if SSO lowered the prices of SC people would still complain abt smth, to be honest if people are in a financial crisis they shouldn’t be buying stuff for games anyway.
@@asnytex Gen 4 horses have been being talked abt for a while, they will definitely be a thing, this friesian is a 3.5. In 2025 we should start seeing gen 3.5/4 horses. (example: 2021 gen 3 Arabian, New arab would be gen 3.5 or 4) my guess is they would be 3.5 however there was never a 2.5 so idk.

i realy love the new one (ps: this is NOT a gen3.5, this is just a new gen3 :)
This version of the fresian looks a thousand times better one of them will def be coming home
it technically isn't a gen 3.5 since it is replacing the gen 2 friesian...Sso only made on the Jorvik Frezzy they just made up that breed because it is not a real breed and what sso made, Your not going to see a jorvik friesian Irl. So this newer one is just replacing the gen 2. and is not a remake of a Jorvik Friesian only gen 2
generations arent about looks anyway, they are about tech used to animate and code the horses
The nailed it!!
it looks too skinny imo, i feel like irl friesians are more buff
Ngl I like the jorvik Frisians better, SSO is just too realistic and it’s supposed to be a NON-Life like game, I think I will like all of the gen 3 horses more than the 3.5/4 horses.
If they at least fixed the jorvik friesians or even discounted them for how bugged they are but they will be the same price as the new ones :/ they were around for 4 years and they cant fix their leg or the animations? They probs made these for people to waste money bcs of their financial situation :,)
gen 4 isn’t a thing, gen 3.5 is only used on this new friesian to differentiate it from the old one. i assume horses released after it will be labelled gen 3, and any remakes of older gen 3’s will be 3.5
@@yarishu3525 Yes I do agree if they fixed the bugs and fitted them with the new tack they would be more worth the money.
@@EquineLover83 Has SSO ever confirmed gen 4, though? My interpretation was that gen 3 is final, and gen 4 was for the breeding mechanic they hoped to implement. At least, that’s what I’ve seen.
My biggest problem is the hindquarters are SO much lower than the chest, like they are failing to carry their bodies properly. Hate to say it but it’s really inaccurate and ugly.
omg the eye placement is so off 💀💀💀
this shows soo well how frickin bad the Jorvik Friesian really is 😂 What a disaster
wait so sso made 2 gen3 of this horse? why?
Still the 2nd generation is better. The way how they walk, trot is more "alive". Their whole body is moving, not only lengs like in 3.5 generation
tbh idc what anyone else says i need to say i love the new ones so much more better than the old ones. the old ones were so ASS
I love the animations but i just dont rlly like the trot since it looks slow but in real life its faster but okay. And tbh i think that the clothes that we got spoilers from are gonna be uploaded with the friesian. BUT TY SSO
im so glad they kept the coats a bit more true to the breed rather than making another leopard appaloosa or pinto
Guys, be grateful for once. Star stable isn't a realistic game
Yes but they said that they will do friesians better quality and then they do this. That canter is like gen 1
