That will be a challenge. I highly recommend looking into octoprint, making the printers wireless. That is a massive quality of life upgrade right there. Also with the laser cutter, make sure you consider how you will ventilate the smoke outside. You definitely do not want that in a confined space. Good luck buddy and reach out If you get stuck 👍
@@IQWorkshop Yes indeed. I am venting out window at moment but planning on rigging up a ventilation system in the attic for both laser and 3d printers. I'm South Wales where to are you?
Love it! Practical solution that isn't insanely complicated. I'll use this as a good example when I'm trying to tell people they can make more than tugboats with a 3d printer
@@IQWorkshopconveying ideas, techniques and concepts to people when you can't have a back and forth conversation, without boring them is more complicated than most people would think and you did a fantastic job of it. I'll be checking out more of your videos for sure!
Surprised the UK allows non electricians to do electrical, or are you a sparky? Certainly in Oz I'm pretty sure what you did would be illegal. Other than that love to see videos on freecad which I am also learning after surviving with tinkercad. I don't have windows or Mac so fusion was never an option, glad of that now with the license changes
@@pellcorp replacing a plug on a device or portable extension is fine. I have experience in wiring homes and as a non certified electrician, this is also OK, providing you have the work inspected and certified (commissioned) by someone qualified.
Neat trick using the painters tape for hole alignment. Seems obvious but I never took the time to think about it. I think 3d printing is a great tool. I have used it to make ferrules for odd tubing sizes in compression fittings that worked very well. I also have made several pieces for cars to keep them going. Keep warm in Whales.
It's amazing how many people thing 3D Printing is for playing. There are tons of applications as you have mentioned that will keep something running, fix a problem, complete a repair.... the list is endless, limited to your imagination and creativity
I wanted to learn to do this since I got my 3d printer. I have literally taken like almost an hour to make a 20mmx20mm square outline. Bit overwhelming when you know nothing about this from start.
I use FreeCAD gor printing gears. Just loaded the FCgear workbench code from GitHub and defined the number of teeth, module and height details. FCgear just does the rest -
How can people think 3d printing isn't usefull? Do they know how many applications there are. The automotive industry for example. I make so many things for cars like air ducts, supports, make molds out of 3d prints, ..
I find people have a hard time understanding what 3d printing is and the potential uses. Showing them something simple and fix a real world problem is a good vehicle for understanding

Nice to see a fellow Boyo. Im even worse I am setting mine up in a 1 bed flat!!! Planning for 2 x 3d printer and 1 x laser cutter.
That will be a challenge.

I try to keep things simple, but I'm not always successful :D

Stick with it, the more you do, the easier it will become.
Out of interest, what was the most overwhelming part of the process?
