Yes please to gardening prints! Modular seeding trays (10X20s) ... modular cells that are expandable in height ... dibber for those cells/trays?? Great content. Cheers!
Wow, how fantastically useful (again)! I knew about Gridfinity but not the other 4. The draw dividers and catch-all bins in particular solve storage problems I’ve been needing to address. Mega-thanks!!
I love storage solutions - modular storage is a great idea calling it 'customizable' but never has been with an off-the-shelf product. With at home 3D printing, it really has crossed the line to fully customizable. Side note: I totally want to see what you came up with for gardening solutions - I've been diving in to hydroponics and see some opportunities for customize pieces that would help with steps in gardening.
This was really helpful and going to look into the honeycomb wall. So many awkward things to hang. I like the idea of stackable, but if I can't see it, I completely forget about it.
I've been finding a majority of my prints lately is for organization haha. My desk at work is chaos and I need to get it together before I lose my mind. Thanks for the great video!
FANTASTIC overview of the current designs. I am going to make some Catch All Trays /Desk Organizer by HD. I would like to make a shelf with pullout draws that you show at the 12:40 minute marker. Have you made a YT on this item? Thanks David
Good video, but not sure if it's a good or bad thing that it's going to further my addiction to printing out organizational stuff! And yes, please do a video on gardening prints!
been watching since that first gridfinity video! my first 3D printer is coming soon, and I couldnt be more excited! Also, PLEASE do a gardening 3D prints video
I'm enjoying your content, 100% understand wanting to make things shorter and more direct. I'd like to see more content about how to create useful things for people that aren't CAD wizards, not just download it, but how do I go from idea to print, and be cognizant that I'm a full time worker, dad, and have other hobbies. I have to invest so much time in 3dp, sometimes I miss other things. I spend more time calibrating my printers I don't have time to become a cad expert. Not trying to use this comment as therapy, lol. I'm just trying to find a balance. Great content!
Love this channel. All Of your videos are super helpful. I’ve been looking for Something like the organizer without the bases for our kitchen drawers. Thank you!
Another popular type of storage is Ikea Skadis panels, you can buy big sheets or print your own to fit a space with hundreds of storage options similar to gridfinity.
Thank you so much for sharing! You are the first one who I learned about Bambu X1 Carbon printer from, which is arriving by the end of this week. And - no!!! - I will not hold you responsible is something goes sour with that printer; it was my own choice to buy. 🤣 After watching a few of your videos, starting from "Dear Prusa", which I am absolutely on the same page with you after fighting with the MK3S hot end for a long time, I'm definitely subscribing. 😍
Top video. Anything related to 3D printing and storage has my immediate attention. I have used Alexander Chapel’s (UA-camr) grid-based system extensively and it is fantastic. It’s not free though. Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺
Have you checked out Multiboard? Since you use the HWS I would be interested on your opinion on it. Was about to start printing out a lot of HWS tiles until I saw the Multiboard which includes pegboard holes and seems to be a little stronger. Could you do a comparison video of these two systems?
Would be great to have this comparison video. I am about to print my own "wall organizer" and I think I will go with Multiboard because its community and the "adapters" they are designing for other systems like HWS
After you pointed me to the Honeycomb wall I printed it out and came to the same realisation about which way round it should be. However I hadn't mounted mine yet 😅
Yes for more organisation vids please! Gridfinity was my entry to 3D printing but I've been eyeing off that honeycomb wall since day 1. Aaand now I'm frantically scanning my bedroom/office for vertical surfaces I can take over without putting holes in the walls 😅 Current frontrunner is the metal sideplates of my IKEA Fredde desk, which would be super useful for clearing some clutter off the flat surfaces...
How do you take one of the existing rectangular gridfinity pieces and make the front edge shorter than the back edge so that the top plain is at an angle toward the user?
Nice video, awesome to see your channel growing and seeing you reinvest in it. Could you link to the cable organizer you showcased, that looks like a super valuable print!
@@thenextlayer Seriously, though, I've had spools up there for about a month, and it hasn't been a problem. My HSW is all one piece: printed on a Tronxy VEHO 600 with a .6 nozzle, I used the OpenSCAD version to generate a gigantic 550x550 HSW.
Maybe a silly question, at roughly 2.45 in, what software are you using to show a preview of the stl files, I'm still relatively new to 3d printing and am having to click the stl file to view the part in a slicer, this would save me a lot of time when trying to find the piece I want to print 😊
I’ve very new to the printing game, only a few days old. I have an Ender 3 v2 Neo and I’m not sure how to print to hexagon walls on it. It says it can’t slice it cuz it won’t fit. I’m sure it’s just a dumb rookie mistake but I’d love to learn how to make adjustments and figure it out if anyone has any advice? 🤓
I have mounted my honeycomb wall the wrong way round looking at this video but I have not progresses as far as in the video so should be oasy to remove and turn the base over I hope. thanks for the video :O)
I tried the drawer organizer and burned a ton of filament for a system that is just too damned confusing and too finicky. Gridfinity just works. The drawer organizer has connector pieces and 'divider' pieces and it's a royal PITA to figure out what you want to do between them. I appreciate the tons of work that went into it... but this could have been much simpler and easier.
You know, just when I was "starting" to recover from my gridfinity addiction(ok so I ran out of filament), I see honeycomb now...... need to place an order...
Your office may still be disorganized, but it would be even worse without the organizational stuff SoonerLater Definitely would like to print some of these to help with my stuff..
Hello @The Next Layer I love your videos and watching since I have found them first time. It looks like links in description dont work especially under.🛒 RECOMMENDED GEAR: 🛒 Ccould you please take a look on them??
Look up how "shadow foam" does it. The point of organization is not only to place small bits in containers but also to see what´s there and what´s missing. Shadow walls are a part of 5S and for mechanics for example it is only important to store stuff but also to make sure everything is back on it´s place and to see right away what´s missing. By stacking 1000 boxes all over the place you don´t get the same organization. I see this frequently with those rainbow colored puke 3D prints, there is no color scheme and not shadow wall it´s still chaos but this time with 1000 boxes instead of 1000 parts. Honestly I don´t see the gritfinity system as a mobile system, I would rather use Kaizen foam instead. It´s way neater and more organized. Now you can do the same with the gridfinity system but I have not really seen somebody do that. 3D peinting nerds tend to be disorganized most times with 785 colored filament for whichever reason and so on. All this is a storage nightmare by itself.
Hmmm.... X1C, Honeycomb Wall, Magnets... A place for all the tools, hot ends, maybe a build plate or two... If only there was someone that had one and could do an awesome video before I try it. Know anyone who needs to print out a HCW and has an X1 and likes making videos @thenextlayer ? 😎😉

For the honeycomb wall mount - which way am I supposed to print and which way to attach to the wall. It's the notched side that goes against the wall?
Fat side down when printing, thin side against the wall
