That is not a bad job! But i would have used the weave cloth first, then the fiber matting. Worked fiber patching gas pipeline at a steel plant for a few years. That thin weave cloth actually adds a fair bit of strength. But all good. Still wouldn't be disappointed if i had bought it with this patch.

How long did it take for that paint to cure? For it to be water ready?

I added a large patch on both sides so I'm sure the fiber matting is strong enough. I am 100% confident it will hold up over time.
Red is better! My first canoe was red :D
Yes I suppose, but at 62 bucks a can, I'll just use up what I got :)
That green paint is very opaque. One coat and you can't see the red underneath. No primer or anything.
