    Any one disgusted by the food shown in this video needs to understand that India has a vastly diverse food culture and none of it is wrong as long as it is ethically eaten.
    I'm sorry to all the people who have been made fun of for eating food that is not culturally mainstream and hence not well known.
    Great video BuzzFeed, thank you for introducing this South Indian to other Indian food✨

    It all goes back to the kind of life the tribe led prior to the British period and even years after.
    In a rugged mountaineous terrain of the NE hills where agriculture cannot be really developed (due to acidic soil and incessant rain) the tribes resort to Hunting-Gathering form of life with a bit of agriculture (mostly Jhum cultivation). Also given the regular famine (mostly during the period when bamboo starts flowering, every 50 -80 years) people have learnt to survive on what ever they chance to get their hands upon. From bugs to meat. Nothing is wasted. Centuries of this sort of life had given a kind of a cultural life style to many NE tribals, that is why very few tribal have food inhibitions and hence the food habits are different from mainstream India where agriculture is highly developed since the ancient days.

    Thank you for displaying the rich food culture, truly appreciate it... Got to see some of the most popular food items from Nagaland
    No offence but me being a Naga I'll comment something to let the viewers know something. Which is
    In my own pov, when she said authentic Naga Food ..
    The Pork bhujia isn't an authentic Naga food, but rather it's a mix modern twist food. Which is made and goes well with a glass of cold beer.
    So instead of a modern recipe naga food which was the pork bhujia, it would have been better if Anishi (fermented yam leaf stew) was brought in, or the vegetarian food called roseb (boiled mix vegetable with mushroom and fermented fish) would be better. And not to forget the other tribes own ethnic cuisine made of sesame seeds paste, kidney bean etc..
    Anyways, love the video and keep up the good work BuzzFeed. And do visit Nagaland, this year we'll be celebrating our 25th year silver Jubilee for the Hornbill Festival.

    That axone with pork is the best ❤ but you need to know which axone to pick. Some taste is not good. Always try to get axone from Sumi tribe their way of making axone is tasty as compared to the rest. The taste varies means it varies.
    With good axone you can eat more pork fat than normal curry.

    • @karen0110
      @karen0110 8 місяців тому

      Sumi's axone is good but you can't deny that eastern people also make good axone. I have tasted a really good axone given to me by one of my chang friend which I cooked myself tasted soo good.

    This is not what naga people eat often..this is like fancy food.
    What they eat often are beef , pork ,fresh fish,snails, frogs, bats , paddy field rats, wood worms, hornet and its larva , snakes ,eels, dryfish, dried eels, wild birds, chicken (very less) and......dogs.
    Please don't get ofended my naga brothers/sistes. This is true and you don't need to be ashamed of it. Be proud of being naga.
