Years ago a gyn surgeon warned against mesh surgery. ( I have grade 3 cystocele.) I tried several pessaries that weren't very effective. Finally sent to specialist who prescibed a ring pessary with a knob. Thank goodness, it works well. Fairly easy to remove (with removal tool), clean and reinsert. I am pain-free and can go about my daily life with no prolapse.
This has made life much easier.
    (I am 77.)

How are you doing now? I’m thinking of getting the surgery. I just want to know like all of the pros and cons of getting the surgery specifically from someone that has actually experienced it. Does it make the vagina area feel tighter like back to normal before all of this happened?? Does it take away the heaviness feeling? Does you vagina look different or back to normal? Do you see the bulge or did it mess your vagina up by them tampering with it?
Sorry I just feel like nobody talks about that stuff and I NEED to know ALL the info! Lol. Tmi but hope you get it since you have experienced the same thing.
I’m 28 and had the vacuum assist birth and very very quick birth. Had a tear. They didn’t even allow me to try to push the baby out. They basically just ripped her out to be honest. Like my body was forced into labor bc they wanted to do a balloon. Insisted that I did it actually. Anyway, I feel all of that is why I have the prolapse now. Just want details on what it looks, feels like afterwards- and of course if you would do it all over again?
      Thanks!

I had mesh surgery at age 60 12 years ago. It was transvaginal mesh and it was the beginning of hell. Within 3 months the surgery failed and I had terrible pain in my low back and down both legs. I went to 3 urogynocologists ALL argued it had nothing to do with my surgery, even though I knew it was. Then I went to 5 other specialists. Each one had their own bias "it is spinal stenous", "it is brain damage from a car accident from 50 years ago', "it is ankalosing spondylis" --- BUT I JUST KNEW!!! After 10 years of agony....I finally got fitted for a pessary. I walked into the office with my cane barely able to walk because of my pain, and sciatic in my low back, hip, knee and down to my toes. As soon as the pessary was put it, ALL my sciatic pain lest and 50% of my other leg pain left. PESSARIES WORK...don't get sold on surgery!!!!!!

I think it depends on the needs of the patient. I have heard so many great things about pessary and they should always be tried before surgery.
For me, when I tried a pessary it hurt more and didn't help to hold up anything. Instead it fell behind the uterine prolapse making it far worse. But I also have stage 4 prolapse at 15 years old. So doctors doubted it would work but tried it anyways because my life is hell with my prolapse. But glad we tried it beforehand to make sure

I've been struggling through this alone (have a gyno but no females really to talk with) and try not to overwhelm myself with videos. It's been tough. Changed my diet completely and within 7 mos or so lost nearly 40 lbs and began a quicker path toward menopause. BUT now the prolapse 😟 Just started kegels as an actual routine a few days ago. My youngest has multiple mental illnesses and can't literally be without me and I have no idea how long until I'd be back home. I asked my dr how women used to deal with it, because as I’ve went through this journey I’ve realized how not alone I am.
She told me they just let it all hang out. 🥺
I will say that you will need some help for a couple weeks especially if your child needs special care. You already know that healing processes better when you can rest and be relaxed. You wouldn’t want to do anything that can mess up the work you endured. The pain isn’t unbearable but having bowel movements is a challenge.
Now, I need to go through your videos and find inspiration to lose 30-40 pounds. 💕

@@elemis2826 Me too! I also have a tilted uterus. I've never known anyone else personally with it 🤗 I do feel a little better with your correspondence. Thank you 💗 Oh! As for weight loss I felt miserable at first because I went strictly to pistachios, peanuts, cauliflower & broccoli both raw and steamed, teriyaki noodles, mushrooms, baked potatoes with no butter just salt and pepper, etc. I add organic garlic to any and everything possible most of the time. Even garlic powder at times. I even purposefully eat baby carrots to keep my estrogen low and somewhat balanced to help a healthy perimenopause and in about 8 months have shrunk my fibroid tumor 2 cm. I went as organic as possible because even the spray on non organic apples have hormones. My favorite snacks are banana and or apple slices w/Jif peanut butter. I don't measure. I only eat pasta maybe once a month and it's strictly Barilla protein pasta now. I quit consuming dairy EXCEPT I do have some pizza a couple times a month and maybe a dab of sour cream with 1 baked potato once or twice a month but the rest of the potatoes salt & pepper & garlic powder, maybe crushed red peppers. I eat a hard boiled egg a few times a month and my favorite treat is an iced, Annihilator with white chocolate at Dutch Bros (sometimes with Almond milk instead of their 1/2 & 1/2). Black olives straight from the can or with black bean burritos a few times a month......I found that honey graham crackers smeared with Jif tastes IDENTICAL to Nutter Butter cookies 😉 Because of the fibroid tumor (and previous heavybleeds) I would do gentle pilates and walk whenever possible. Sometimes shooting hoops and tennis or hitting a volleyball over & over in the air as I walked around. It took determination and tears of perseverance honestly. I'll slip and have homemade french toast with no limit or eat 3 fries from one of the kids McD's meals (which are now limited too for their sake...instead of weekly those trips are a few times a month).
THANK YOU again 🤗🤘💗 You're truly awesome and much appreciated. If you need an ear I'm here.

I've lived with cystocele and rectocele since a traumatic birth 4 years ago. The consultant confirmed my worst fears that I have a uterine prolapse too. I've tried everything to manage things conservatively so far but consultant suggesting surgery now. I'm terrified at the prospect so watching your video tonight was very timely for me. Thanks for the video, I am urogynecologist and have couple of comments. Surgery could be also considered on stage 2 if patient is symptomatic and does not have to wait for stage 3 or beyond. Waiting longer would damage the pelvic nerves further, and also stretch the connective tissue more. I disagree with cystocele repair part of your surgery and was not necessary and unfortunately it will increase your chance of having urinary urgency and nocturia ( need to pee at night). thanks again for sharing your experience.

I know you said you have to be cautious when recovering, but can you eventually go back to lifting weight or should you stay away from it all together? I have a 2 year old plus at work it's part of my job description to lift 50lbs. I've been living with this on and off since before getting pregnant with my last baby, but I didn't k ow what it was and when I went to the obgyn to get it checked out, she didn't see anything. You can go back to lifting slowly & nothing over 10lbs strictly for 6 weeks after surgery... keep in mind that's a gallon of milk. Nothing more then that. Proper rest. I didn't follow these guidelines after hernia surgery a year & half ago & it wasn't 3 months after surgery i felt the same previous pain & been dealing with it since. I messed up the permanent sutures so it's important to follow the orders in place.. i understand that's not possible in everyone's life especially with a toddler (that's what I did wrong myself) hence why I'm putting off the prolapse surgery myself. Blessings for you in your journey with this. ❤

I got it after natural labor in 2016. I have have been living with prolapsring (this how they call it here in Sweden, it's a plastic rubber ring that supports falling uterus) since then.
Using prolapsring gave me some sides effect like back pain and abdominal pain, I stopped to use it for a while but then my prolapse got worse. I got a consultation last week to talk about possible surgery. But it wasn't recommend to me at the moment. I was informed that possible pregnancy can ruin results of surgery, even if I got c section. So I got prolapsring a size smaller, and all my pains disappeared.
I am extremely grateful that I discovered this channel ❤️ this is so important to talk about this and educate women, support each other. When I got prolapse I felt hopeless and very lonely, very frighten. I have never heard about this before. It is so important to know that there is out there whole society of women who also have same struggles.

I have been diagnosed with stage 2 cystocele and rectocele it’s been about two years they did put surgery on the table as a last resort I am 5 feet and seem to be bouncing between 143 and 150. It seems the minute I go anywhere above 143 I start to feel heaviness and seem sad, my cervix has prolapsed as well. Sometimes I can feel it with my hand when I wash I am terrified. I also feel most pressure right before my period I am 52 and in perimenopause I am not sure what to do so I’m comfortable at times I have been back-and-forth with PT I have to admit not very consistent, my regular GYN thinks I should avoid the surgery and try to fix it myself

  • @cindy6576
    @cindy6576 2 роки тому +8

Vacuums need to be banned. I am a both professional and victim and have the right to make this statement. I had the same story after first then had 2 gentle water births afterward. . Suffered 25 years and did have frequent PFPT and used pessary but Urogyn was not a specialist yet. I’m post op for grade 3 amd 4. No more Trapping stool and manually removing it (not from constipation I ate healthy and exercised daily). No more gaping vagina with the cervix and antidote wall protruding externally. No leaking, retention and pressure. Bowel and bladder function restored. Specialty functioning is much tighter but some discomfort and contractions are odd with levator muscles repaired. Travel far! Only a handful of Urogyns are skilled and have good outcomes. Imma physicians wife, I consulted with 8 urogyns and traveled and stayed in a hotel post op. Keep the uterus. It’s essential to prevent prolapse, prevent nerve damage and to maintain sexual and orgasmic functioning. Low risk vaginal approach is my preference. The leaders in the field prefer this approach. Young women! Use midwifery care as the obstetric culture routinely uses unnecessary interventions like episiotomy and vacuums that destroy the pelvic floor. Use gravity not instruments! Consult midwives before and after conception. Be wise consumers. Birth is not a medical event.

I think I made a bad decision on doctor and I am switching. now. Thanks for the tips

I’m really scared cause my urogynocologist says the damage is done, and I most definitely have to get surgery. I’m worried about how long this is going to last since my age?

If you look up Ali express there are a lot of electronic devices which you can use to help stimulate the muscles to help them hold up your organs and tighten the vagina. The comments say they work. I bought one for about $60 which is battery powered and it does seem to work but I have only had it for a week. I have had mesh surgery but it collapsed after 2 years and there has been a lot of pain. I am now in my 60s and have lived with this for decades so the fact that this little device seems to be helping after all these years is surprising.

I had the surgery and I slept we’ll surgery BUT then I couldn’t pee enough so they put a catheter in me so it was scary ISSUES WITH MESH OMFG I DIDNT EVEN KNOW THERE WAS PROBLEMS WITH IT 😢 I’m regretting doing the surgery even tho I’m ok but it’s 4days later after my surgery. Wish I tried natural stuff first. Listening to your video and I wish I seen your video before.

@shikha3027 im fine but i kind of wish i waited to find other options i hate that they used a mesh thing so probably best to try other options or talk to 2 or 3 doctors before making a choice. I thought it was suppose to last for life cuz my doctor said that and then when i spoke to my new doctor she said it only last 10y thats horrible:( so even tho im fine im worried about the futur cuz the surgery didnt hurt and recovering didnt hurt it eas after the surgery they want you to pee and j couldnt so they forced 2x a catheter in me to stay overnight at home and it was a nightmare and then after she removed it the doctor she shoved it again in me the catheter cuz i couldn't pee in the measuring cup thing i was too nervous cuz they want you tok pee asap and i couldnt cuz i was nervous. So i say see more then1 doctor and think of maybe other options like maybe natural mesh vs fake stuff inside you or try something else first... im fine atm i hope it lasts forever lol. Goodluck

Look out for visceral osteopathy! 👌 Also the sacrum can be in the wrong position. Some therapists can manually reposition it, which can help as well.

The surgeon I am waiting to get into is hard to get into because he spends quite a bit of time in Africa doing this surgery for women over there who have a lot of problems because they start having babies too young and it messes them up pretty bad. He also no longer lives here but come about once a month or so. I have heard that some women have low back pain after similar surgeries so this is a concern that I will be talking with him about on the 29 of May, 2924. I am uneasy but I am tired of living this way. I would love to toss the pads but am so grateful to have them.

What do you mean by “bulge”? What I’m trying to understand is what the benefits will be. I don’t feel like the slight urine leakage or frequency are worth getting surgery for but if it helped the constipation and/or prevented further uterine prolapse and/or these shooting pains that go up from the cervix & anus it might be… also the pain with sex… that might be worth it but I’m not sure about that one. If you ask me on a bad day I’d probably say yes… I really don’t know what to do.
