Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

i just got the game like 3 days ago and i already have dragon thrusters, 15 power cores, all the required things for a fully functioning plane, spiked wheels (which were VERY hard to get), and a dragon engine

scrapman go to the right of the volcano, there's an underwater cave and inside you can find the propeller it took my 6 hours to find this pice so I hope you wont have to do the same.

Played the campaign blind and now want so see how others did it. Gotta say i am pretty impressed by how quickly you assess the problems your vehicles have and solve them, especially the dragon engine salvage blew my mind. I spent like 5 hours building a gigantic quadrocopter with 20 power cores to do that, when i had a lot more stuff in general to work with too.
Really enjoy the pace of your vids too, great work.
I did the same thing you did actually, with the quadricopter and stuff. But I believe that spawning the creation right on that spot is a bit like cheating.

I used a similar design to get the dragon jets.
Same cab, however I used the propellers with servos, and gimbal jets on top off the cab.
The gimbal jets helped keep the craft level.
KSP gave me an idea when you get the parts connect with the Electro magnets then basically use the scrap as a vehicle via engine or jet power
I had the same problem with the scrap exploding. It took me 30 min to bring one to a checkpoint. UGH! I hate that thing!

Heya, i bought the game after i saw your update vids. Loving the series so far.
I found a nice trick when dealing with the larger scrap pieces: using tires to push the parts makes it super easy

The reason why you cant adjust yourself when you pick those things up, is beceouse the force vectors between you and the thing dont nulify each other becouse of shadow physics. Its the same thing as in hover glitch cars, where the hover plate is facinng into the car and somehow gets additional propulsion. Just like in the old movies where they joked about picking themselves up by themselves and moving up this way.
About the last video pushing the big ball without magnet, I think that the rounding of the ball pushed your bumper into the ground which made it hard to push. As soon you rammed it and destroyed the bumper, you could move it very easy.
Finally you posted another fun campaign episode of trailmakers! I was literally waiting the entire day.

For moving bigger things you could build big H-shaped vehicle with magnet on piston at center.
dude you have dragon jet engine's now, replace the raw jet engine's on your flying car
Also, he got the dragon jets and didn't replace the minis on his flyer
They dont work the same way anymore. Dragon jets now have to speed up a little, so the are very weak at the start and have to be on for 2 seconds to get the maximum power
@@Hlebuw3k that does make sense. Lets say you've just found the most powerful gun you can get, but it has a 5 min start up delay. But you find another one that does decant damage has no delay. Now you get jumped by three enemy's with melee weapons. Witch do you choose (they each have 100 health).
@@nowuseemenowudont1180 Yeah, so the mini thruster would be a glock, the dragon jet is a freaking tank, but ofc you need to boot up all its systems, start the engine and stuff, and then you have the raw jet engine, its a orbital laser that has to charge up, but ofc its the most powerful one, just with a cool down

Scrap man, maybe add a magnet to the back allowing you to pull it behind you as well as well as for power with your flying machine, try the jet engines you got in the second episode that you used to make the gliding car with the red power core to give you more power

I did the big jump thrusterless. You just make a glider wither tailfins and transform with a lot of speed in the air and glide across
The game updates as you collect gold, making them act as checkpoints to re-spawn to.
Watching you made me a biggest fan of trailmakers can you make a separate guide for stranded in space guide or a tour of all the maps and gamemodes like sandbox etc.
don't feel bad about the dragon thruster, it took me over 2 hours to get it... also, i found the gimbal jet! it is something's eye as the location, at the top right of the map, you have to go in it for it to show on the map... there is an exit through a little cave exit to get it out pretty fast. the dragon engine is in a lake in the swamp area.
For those giant ones, I made a MASSIVE truck with a crane type arm that had magnets on it, I would pick it up with the crane and set it down in the bed of the truck, works wonders.
Dude, try having some either a medium space between your pod control and the magnet, I think (this is just a theory) but, I think when you use the magnet, the magnet magnetized that salvage, and it still pulling in that gives force in between your pod and your magnet, as long as that salvage is being pulled by the magnet.
now, don't quote me on this cause I haven't played trailmakers yet (only that one time they give away that free super early alpha version one)
and again it is just a theory.
I was just enjoying my day in campaign mode when i randomly unlock the Dragon Jet, Cheers to the person who did it for me
Campaign is much much more interesting to watch than the sandbox because of the power core limit!

15:42 if the rockets can lift more than their own weight then they have negative weight. Things like putting pontoons on the pottom of an already top heavy boat, it might flip.

You know what would've made getting the Dragon Jet even more tedious? Having to respawn at a checkpoint every time you explode 🤡 (That is the current state of Trailmakers... It is so, so, so painfully tedious...)
I'd probably go fly up in your quad jet and get the helicopter piece you left to the north before circling south for the stuff by the volcano, but that's just me.

Dude I spent two days trying to pilot a quadrocopter I built specifically for the volcano but the weight of the dragon jet ball kept screwing my centre of mass up but FINALLY GETTING IT was so satisfying
PS: long-time fan! I picked up trailmakers from your vids
I did build a small plane with mini Thrusters and the 2 wide big tailfins, it was great at slowly gliding and i also could carry scrap attached to my tail from the sky islands. Just build it small and streamlined (i put 4 big round corners on the front as a big cartoony nose on ma plane)
that red power core is a hot one so that’s why it exploded 😅😊😊😊😊

I made a drone with 4 propellers and wedges with a magnet on the middle of the bottom with a helicopter of top to move left and right and it worked way better than I thought

I made a hover-plane to get that volcano piece..... You got it so easily
you should use pulling AND pushing controlled with a switch if your quick enough to to get it before it falls off
fun fact - I finished the "new" campaign (with 164 parts) two days ago and never even realized the electro magnet has a push function ...
Dang, I'm rewatching this series and it makes me kinda sad how quickly you skipped to the dragon engine then kinda cheesed your way into getting it lmao, props to you but it would have been more fun to watch you build up to it properly
Somethhing i wish transform would do, is only move parts necessary to move, for example if i have a car with an armored seat and a rocket boost and put it in slot one, and in slot 2 i have the exact same car but with a diving bell and instead of rockets, underwater propellers, in this scenario i’d like it to simply detach the rockets/propellers/boosters and detach the seat, and put on the corresponding parts in the same place, what i do not like is that in this scenario (in-game, not my theoretical better transform) ALL THE PARTS get moved outisde of the car’s area, and then repurposed in the same spots they were before, imo it would look cooler to not do that
Easiest way i found to go about exploring was to unlock mini thrusters and the indestructible seat (to make a simple 5-part flying thing) then fall into every checkpoint to unlock them. From there it was a matter of switching between it, a magnet underwater-capable car, and a simple magnet plane. There are a couple of those red scrap pieces on floating islands kinda high up so a plane is pretty much is required.
Also the gimball jet is inside of the cave named The eye of (something, but it's the only one out there). You will need that jet for the final spaceship.
Also also, F that volcano salvage, seriously ლ(｀ー´ლ)
Can you play Starmade on an future video? Is a real cool game where you build space ships how big want. There is creative mode and survival mode. There are pirates and a bunch of different teams that are fighting etch other and they have territory that are growing. And much more!

lol he should have went to the undiscovered area of the volcano before getting the dragon jet, i was able to get the dragon jet with one of the template blueprints (gimbal car)
I actually got the Dragon Jet from the volcano first try...
...It was every single other explosive salvage that gave me trouble...
The volcano challenge literally took me 10 hours

haha when i saw the title i laughed so hard because it took me 2 hours to get that dragon jet and i knew you will be raging
is better put a magnet in the back of the vehicle thake the monster truck or any other big wheel goods motors and some power cores and the brute jet engine and you can take basicly any large scrap ball without any dificult (sometimes you will need to use brute jet or you will cant move like take the mini thrusters)
The drone thingy would flip because it was top heavy
