wondering if you have the same audio issue like i do with this laptop. if so, would greatly appreciate your input. when i have my laptop directly connected to external monitors via hdmi cable or have the screen extended to external monitors via a multi monitor adaptor, there's no audio output from my external hp monitor speakers unless i switch the default output from "usb audio device or hp monitor" speaker to the built in "realteck audio" speaker. likewise, i have to do that with the laptop screen extended and connected to an external web cam...... thank you in advance!
Hi, I haven't experienced audio issues, but that could be because I use a dell docking station. Are you 100% sure that your HP monitor has speakers built in?
@@Unboxing_with_Eddie yes. i've been having the same setup with my old laptop for a couple of yrs now..... perhaps i'll try dell docking station & see if that helps. can you share the specific docking station you're using? many thx! emerald_c@yahoo.com
Try first to install the audio driver from Dell's website. I am using Dell Dock - WD19S 130W. My advice is to contact Dell support if you've installed the Dell audio driver and still no sound via HDMI to your external monitor. See what they say before buying extra accessories that you may not need.
@@Unboxing_with_Eddie thx! i've spent significant amount of time working with dell & microsoft support. unfortunately, still not able to get it to work. will probably take it to best buy where i bought it from & have them run a diagnosis test on the laptop......
Usually laptops with i7 CPU will heat up, depends a lot of the environment, what applications you're running and where you're keeping it. We always should avoid keeping the laptop in places where the air vents are blocked. In general it only get warm, which is expected if you think about how everything is packed in a small chassis. Dell offers good warranty options and their support is always very helpful, that's something I really like.
Is this the i7 1265u model? If so, how many hours do you get out of its battery and what do you regularly do that you get these hours? I don't really believe benchmarks because they say you can even get 11 hours and that's not correct in real life, so can you tell me what you real experience has been?
@@Unboxing_with_Eddie thank you for answering! Oh, I just noticed that maybe I asked the question wrong. When I asked: "what do you usually do that..."? I meant: what are your activities on the computer, if you play games, if you just watch videos, what your activities are on the computer that you get these hours? Because you know that if you play games, battery will drop faster. Also, are you still getting that amount of time today? How long have you had the computer for? Did it give the same amount of time when you bought it?
Thanks for asking, it is holding up well, I am really impressed with it's capabilities, I use it daily at work, connected to a dell docking station and while not connected the battery can last the whole 8 hours if the performance is set to low. The integrated camera is great for video calls. I can only say good things about this laptop.
7420 2in1 is the previous model, I have used the i7 model but i5 it's a good processor too. It was produced during the lockdown and it came with a few problems. It is using Wi-Fi 6 and at the time had slow download speeds, it would get stuck to 0.1Mbps, but luckily they've fixed that now with a driver update. Also the 3.5 mm audio jack wouldn't recognize anything you plug in and that was fixed with an update too. As this is a business laptop we had quite a few at my work place and some laptops had faults out of the box, the power port wouldn't work on one side, the keyboard would do a weird crick noise, the speakers would distort at high volume. Lucky Dell's service support is brilliant and got all that fixed. Because of all this I don't have a good opinion of the dell latitude 7420 2in1 laptops. It is a good laptop if you are lucky and you don't get any faults with it. Make sure you get warranty if you decide to buy it!
