- Fights and quarrels, they come from the desires battling within you. You want something. You kill and covet, but you cannot have it. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. And when you do ask, you ask with wrong motives, so you still do not receive. All because you desire earthly pleasures.
"You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Or do you think Scripture says without reason that the spirit he caused to live in us envies intensely. But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says, 'God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble." James 1:1-6

Brother can you help me simply understand “friendship with this world is hatred towards God” does this mean we can’t have friends that are sinners? What if they are your blood family and you love them. Do i just not be friends with them if they are of the world?

Friendship with someone who is worldly does not necessarily equate to friendship with the world. We can and should continue to be friends and friendly with people regardless of their beliefs or lifestyle; however, it may be unhealthy for you to spend an abundance of time with someone who engages in behaviors that you as a believer have left behind. Just like an alcoholic who has been delivered from that addition should not hang out in bars, but it does not mean that he would never be in a situation where he is in company with someone who is having a drink.
As for family, we should never cut them off because they are in the world or are worldly. We are called to love them. SHOW them love. PRAY for them. Look for an opportunity to share the gospel. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide us in sharing our faith.
Whether friend or family, we are to be a light to them. We are not there to beat them up or make them feel bad for their actions. We are to speak truth in love with kindness. Show love.
When we say the world or worldly it is meant to refer to the seediness and sinfulness of mankind and the deceiver which is Satan, not the natural beauty God has created or the actual people living in the world. We, as Christians, are to live in the world, but are not to be of this world. How else could we share the gospel if we do not travel through this world to encounter the lost. The greatest of friends are those who tell you the truth and save you from big mistakes or even death. "For a man hath no greater friend than he who would lay down his life for his brother." So a true friend shares his faith and the plan of salvation with his friends. That is true love.
