I saw Steve live with this line-up in 2010 in the eastern region of France called Alsace, during a small festival dedicated to Genesis, some great memories ! This is a lovely arrangement of one of my best-loved pieces by Steve, without the noisy interruption of A Tower Strucks Down featured on the studio album.
Steve's first solo album is so special to me. and these 2 songs in particular. My dad took me to a hotel with a swim in cave/bar after graduating high school. I played this album while watching and listening to the blue water falling. It was that time in a kids life when there were no worries and everything was easy. This music will always bring me to that happy place.
Part 2 of this piece (original recorded version), and in particular the lead guitar part, imparts in me a very comfortable feeling of warm sunlight pouring over me.
This is the first track recorded by Steve, his brother and John Acock (keyboards) on “Voyage of the Acolyte”. It is still a beautifully crafted composition piece. I think it’s Rob Townshend on flute here. John Hackett is a talented musician in his own right and he gets a beautiful sound from his flute.
I've been following the vynil ever since it was made, Steve has always followed. He wanted to make this kind of music more and Genesis went more in a different direction. He has called selling England by the pound their best LP, for the total atmosphere. His contribution to Genesis has been missed to the atmosphere, the quality remained good, but the atmosphere was 'different'
i have allways thought, that the wailing sea gull guitar sound near the end, should be longer, or have its own track, to me its traveling in time ,in space, sad. i have about five minnits of this, on an old tape, in desperatsion, to have it go on longer.
beauty lives and reasons for enchantment should never be forgotten (nice little sentiment...added to Steve's great song) really good sound and visuals ...just an audience recording? the camera prefers the star
A trick of the tail,The lamb lies down.Musique inoubliable, intemporelle, voire éternelle!

Exquisita canción Steve. ¡Bellísima!
Keep silence, your majesty.....
brain of Genesis
I've always wanted to know how that song ended. I used to turn up the volume as loud as possible to hear every last note of that fade-out.
Great!
Kind of nice in an exotic way. Different but pleasurable. They will get under your skin.
