My husband probably would have known. I’m trying to do more projects myself because he’s so busy. I couldn’t figure out how this came apart. A simple tiny piece of paper as instructions would have been helpful. Alas, there were none. A million thank yous.
My new flooring will increase the height of the floor over a half inch. What can I put inside the existing duct work coming out of the floor to force the air up into this baseboard register? I need something like an extension. Thanks.
seriously, I was trying to pop open the four tabs along the bottom realizing that it separated SOMEhow... looked at the plastic wrap, and resetin2012 is spot on, had to stop the project and look online? you could just put two pictures on the back of the label to explain. Easy, definitely! great design and look, if we could only know how to do it. (PS I'm remodeling my office so had to set my computer back up JUST to do this, not awesome.)
Can I just place this right on top of my floor duct (which currently has a flat floor vent) without attaching it to a baseboard or will too much air escape around the edges?
Now, as to its not being completely airtight and letting some air pass even when closed... Any great methods using sponge tape or using some sort of caulk or putty type of substance to perform as gasket?
Glad I ain't the only one who couldn't get the face plate off to screw it down to the floor & baseboard, gonna have to go back to where I bought & let them show me how.
could I just pop the new grill (diffuser)part back into the old frame or base that is already there,I believe it will b a chore for me to try to remove the whole thing off wall,I pull the grill part off the base easily
Must have redesigned this register. Still no instructions, however, all you have to do is pull the vent adjustment handle toward you and the grill opens. Does not appear to ever lock which is fine. Easy access. Wish it was as sturdy as the one I am replacing.
I have to agree with reset in2012. I have the TRUaire Smoothglide and there is no handy screwdriver slot at the top. All my pushing down is getting me nowhere, except that I'm about to bend the metal. And yes, why aren't these instructions on the product? Why do I have to come to UA-cam to watch a smarmy-looking man in a necktie pop open a diffuser that's obviously been prepped for a demo?
Hey people ... this does work, but not like he makes it look. He must have a good one. Or diffusers are his superpower. Either way, you will break a finger, dent the beautiful new register, swear a lot, scratch the beautiful new dented register with some sort of prying device, and scare the cat with your antics before the damn thing just pops open for no reason at all. Good luck! I have only 9 more to go. #LeaveThisToTheProfessionals
sure doesn't work on the new model ....5minutes later alright it did finally work, but it was no way as easy as in the demonstration, took some strength and cuss words like a over tight jar lid.
Thanks a million! So simple! I was afraid of breaking it!
Thank you! Your presentation was straight forward and to the point! No needless chatter!

Thanks I couldn’t figure out how to open these on my own either. Lol
Thanks for much for this video. I couldn't figure out the trick for removing the grill. Easy after all.
Who knew Gary Oldman would be doing baseboard register installation videos.

Huge help, thanks! The handle is gone so I used a clothespin and it worked!

I put a screwdriver in the vent holes on one side and pull up and then the other side. That worked but only tried it after I saw how he did it.

Unfortunately it does not block air flow when you close it.

I need an odd size. 25x5. Can’t find it anywhere 😞
Can you mount this to the floor ?
The diffusers have changed from 4" to 4.5" high. Why is that?
Thank you for the video, it was very helpful.
Anyone know how to get the MFing cover off an everbilt damper?

Mine also doesn't have screwdriver slots.
Anyone know of any youtube video that cover how to replace an old vintage gravity baseboard (heat) register? Thanks!
OMG! Thank you!!!!!
Why are the screw wholes so much larger than the screw head????
Simple and Great
thank god for the internet! we were baffled
If I push down and pull much harder on the damper handle, it will bend or tear the damper handle off. This is poorly constructed.
Thank you so much.. !!! great product. soooo helpful ..
Nice cuff links dude. 😜
If you hold it vertically and pull the the handle toward your body it should pop off. That's at least how I was able to do it.
Thank you
It wouldn't take much room on your sticker to show the population how to remove the face just a little CEO advice
Thanks

I'm trying to figure out mine. How did you do it?
@@ErikHaanVincent like they show you in the video, except I also had to come in with a screwdriver from the side.
