To all of us who experienced these unique moments that are never going to happen again: you know this feeling. This was awesome. This was god damn awesome. @@andrew-dunai hopefully there will be a new UT some day, but epic is lazy since fortnite. but even a new UT will never feel like the old times, the gaming present is completely different to the early 2000s

People as young as me still understand how amazing games and soundtracks like this are yknow? (I personally believe ut99 has one of the best ost's in gaming history.)
A better shooter still hasn't been made. Everything about this game, especially the music, is just so good, even though it's 21 years old. A game is an art form, and art is as good as the feelings it induces in an individual. The feeling of sniping people on a map like Facing Worlds, the music, the sound effects, it all had such an ATMOSPHERE that most games today still can't come close to. Games have mostly turned the other way, now it's not about the atmosphere but about bigger and bigger worlds/maps. Now, don't get me wrong. I play Warzone now all the time and I love it, I've played many other shooters through the years and had fun. But if right now there was THE SAME Unreal with only updated graphics, you wouldn't see me play anything else, or leave the house.
I 100% agree. But honestly graphics is not a dealbreaker for me. You can scale the resolution in the gpu settings and apply antialiasing etc. But if you like arena/team shooter with modern graphics and mechanics i reccomend splitgate you may heard of it. It's like halo meets portal with arena styled maps and many gamemodes(some are more competitive some are pure fun). What i like about it is that you don't loose accuracy mid air like you do in other games and can do cool trickshots and tricks with portals. It's not UT but it's a solid game and there's a map named "Forgone Destruction" hmm i wonder where they got that name from;)
I honestly honestly really honestly DON'T understand why EPIC have no released a UT99 Throwback with high res graphics on newest unreal engine yet. It would be a top notch hit
@@ObeyaCorpsArmory Couple years ago they were actually working on UT4, they even went as far as a playable pre-alpha version. Then Fortnite took off so they moved all resources off of UT4 to work on Fortnite instead. Afaik, this was supposed to be temporary but due to the massive success Fortnite had, apparently they kept the devs permanently on it and eventually abandoned UT4 for lack of available manpower. At the same time, just as back in the 90s, ID Software worked on Quake Champions, basically resurrecting the old rivalry, but in contrast to UT4, QC actually got released, yet I haven't heard much about its success. Guess Epic assumes it's not the time of arena shooters anymore and not worth the risk of going back to UT4. Not sure how many new and young players without any nostalgia for the game an arena shooter with its simplicity could pull in these days.
Siema, ziomalu! Yeah im still playing this game ocassionally! I've recently showed it to my young niece she enjoys it and i kinda coach her. Experienced difficulty was little bit too high for her right now so i had to lower it to average but for a little kid with no experience with fps games she's doing amazing :)
Unreal Tournament was one of my childhood gem games. I have been playing games my entire life and will ever do that until i (respawn) because that's what we gamers do.... There is no death, there is RESPAWN.
I felt like I was on another planet, even though I was at home, under my parents' arms, turning on the computer in the morning... an inexplicable feeling.
It was a blast to play multiplayer back in the day, my first game played online and the music to this day is still one of the best game sound tracks ever IMO, along side Skyrims sound track.
This was my favorite game and my favorite track. I remember spending hours playing Unreal Tournament and Quake, often getting scolded for it. As a photographer, I've always wanted to create a video using this track. Finally, I've made a video titled 'Ladakh Trip' using this music. Hope you all enjoy the journey!
There's not really much more music like this. The closest "genre" would be progressive breaks maybe. Typical dnb is faster and typical downtempo is slower. This track is the sweetspot between trance and dnb.
I forgot the name but the lava map with the rocks and 2 fortresses at each end was my favorite map besides the space towers facing eachother on a crazy cut asteroid

@aviator9514gg
back when you had ingame music on even on high level professional gaming..UT's music got you so pumped
Yeah i ahte that over-professionalism with shit like playing with no textures, no music etc. Where's the game itself in all of this...

I like to think that the Universe is expanding while this song is playing on repeat for eternity.
Pure nostalgia = Pure bliss
Entire soundtrack is so good, van den bos is the boss xD
Bos means Forrest. I gather that way back in History, his people were Of The Forrest ;)
Also Alexander “Siren” Brandon
I’m sorry, did i blow your head apart?
Let the nostalgia flow through you.
That's a lot of nice chill songs for a brutal shooter game
The magic of contrast is real:)
Guys here's a suggestion. .. grab a classic martini and play thid song out loud... feels like heaven
Shaken, not stirred.
kodemasterx Blue Leader - I might just do that!

on lava giant i would get on the middle cliff put as many bots on as i could, and fire DAT redeemer. So many monster kills.
I just miss this game & miss the childhood
song doesnt feel right with out the spawning noise at the beginning
that spawning noise truly is missing
Meep :C meep :$
and instantly dying because some dumbass throws green goo at every spawn point he can think of
I've got the spawn sound as a notification sound on my phone. Freaks the shit out of my gf every time it plays, haha!
If I pay attention to any of these songs, my brain supplies an overlay of sfx, weapon noises, screams, and auto-taunts.
Once up a time I used to live in this game. This was my whole day & also the midnight pack
Ah good ol Mazon Assault, my personnal favorite setup for that game type.
+ the rocket launcher "lift" on servers with friendly fire!

all my teenage memories right there. I'm 36 years old now, it's just as lovely as I heard it for the first time 26 years ago.

Those 2 dislikes are from those 2 skaarj you got a double kill on when the round started.
Sounds influenced by "Dark and Long (Dark Train)" by Underworld.
Double kills, triple kills, ultra kills !!!
Whats this music style? Atmospheric drum N bass?
I think it is deep house or ambient DnB.
its OST, or maybe video game track... you know the kind you wont find anywhere elsE?
