This reminds me of the days when you looked foward to listening to Vinyl and reading the liner notes inside and out! Slave is definitely one of the best FUNK bands of ALL TIMES! Keep Funk Alive and Shine! 😎🙏❤

The band split up in different groups. Steve Arrington and DANNY WEBSTER ( RIP) had their groups taking some of the original members in AURRA and other SLAVE LABEL Both Drac and Danny are gone with Mark
"Are You Ready For Love" is my absolute FAVORITE from this sorely underrated band. I showed musicianship, talent and just plain old having FUN making the music that they did. Long Live Slave!

My name is Tony Jackson from Dayton Ohio. I'm a studio engineer who worked for Zapp and Roger Troutman for 33 years. I wish was mixing the sound that day. I'm a award winning engineer who mixed I wanna be your man. By rip Roger Troutman
Very beautiful sounds just like the original recording. One of my favorite funk bands. I always did wanna play bass like Mark. I'm learning the style though it's all good
The best funk of the 70's and 80s was the group Slave. In school the bands always had to play the song Slide. The memories will forever be proud of giving this group respect and acknowledgement. We luv Slave forever. 💐 💐 😎
My cousin played SLIDE on his bass at a family picnic when I was maybe 12 or 13 years old . I knew then I had to get a bass guitar. Its sad that Mark and Bernard are no longer here, two of the BADDEST BASSIST ever .
You guys are aware the soundtrack of this concert is available on Apple Music as well as on CD. In amazingly super great high definition, high Fidelity digital sound.
Steve Arrington would say you are still keeping it alive. You sound great guys. The sax and trumpet are slamming and vocals are on time. Lovin these jewels of my years of adolescence! Cool facts; I seen them at my first concert, I was 13yrs old, they opened for the Commodores in Dayton, Ohio. They graduated from Roth High school with my cousin. The Dayton fertile breeding grounds also would see the likes of Lakeside and ZAPP a few years later… the Ohio Players led the way and look at the talent that followed.

Slave was an Ohio funk band popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Trumpeter Steve Washington, born in New Jersey, attended athletically acclaimed East Orange High School, and was one of the first users of the "electric trumpet". He and Mark Hicks ("Drac") formed the group in Dayton, Ohio in 1975. I was fortunate to see them on my birthday as the 2nd opening act for the GAP Band! A chick fainted when they sang the words "Why don't you slide?" Her embarrassed boyfriend looking down at her shouted..."'m taking yo' ass home!" Peace
Great "Slave"Tribute Band. Sound Good Though. Backround Vocals On Point. But The Elements Are Steve Arrington,Curt Jones,Mark Hicks And Mark Adams. Without Them,No Slave...
Ok. Sounds good. Steve would be proud, maybe I don't know 😅, but he's coming back, can't wait. Steve .... you are very good tho. I like this alot. Niceeee
Man this is awesome! Been listening to them since they came out. And, being from Dayton, they were hometown heroes. I wonder when this was filmed since Drac is on there? He died back in 2011 (R.I.P.). Mark Adams isn't there either, he passed the same year as Drac (R.I.P.)
They sound great, they really do, but imagine if they had Steve Arrington with them. He's still performing a lot of these songs live too, too bad they couldn't work something out. the guys singing sound great but no one does it like Steve
The drummer is holding in down. Nice high hat work. He reminds me of my earlier work with the group Unidentified Funk from Asbury Park New Jersey. The founder guitarist still sounds great.🎉
People here obviously don’t know much of Slave. First of this is not Slave. It’s a Drac and some guys. Another point. Steve Arrington was not the lead singer of Slide. Floyd Miller was. Steve Arrington was not a member of Slave when the song released.
One of my favorite all-time bands any genre. I love this performance. No disrespect. Only a few real ones will feel me. Again no disrespect. I truly love this live performance, but.... The only thing wrong with this is the bass. Again no disrespect. Great live. I really love this. Play this thousands of times. But let's keep it a buck. Nobody in my opinion can do it like Mark Adams. This is no shade. Only shine to the OG & my favorite bassist ever. That's all I'll be watching this thousands more if allowed 💯
It was all good, sounded really great, not having Steve Arrington there it was surprisingly great , I still don’t understand at the end why were they in Willie Jones’s basement? What was that all about?
I can agree that Mark Adams and Bernard Edwards were good bass players..........But you have legendary iconic pioneers with Stanley Clarke, William " Bootsy" Collins, Larry Graham and the baddest bass player ever in Mr. Louis " Thunder Thumbs" Johnson of The Brothers Johnson.........come on man you cannot deny it........Louis Johnson was phenomenal on the bass.
This had to be prior to 2011. Mark "Drac" Hicks died in 2011, right after Mark Adams. Drac is the only original here but they do sound good but folks this concert isn't recent. RIP Drac, Mark Adams and Danny Webster.
