This reminds me of the days when you looked foward to listening to Vinyl and reading the liner notes inside and out! Slave is definitely one of the best FUNK bands of ALL TIMES! Keep Funk Alive and Shine! 😎🙏❤
"Are You Ready For Love" is my absolute FAVORITE from this sorely underrated band. I showed musicianship, talent and just plain old having FUN making the music that they did. Long Live Slave!
The band split up in different groups. Steve Arrington and DANNY WEBSTER ( RIP) had their groups taking some of the original members in AURRA and other SLAVE LABEL Both Drac and Danny are gone with Mark
Back in the 70's My Dad was A DJ at a Radio Station, Slave was in Town and They came to the Station to be Interviewed, After the interview, I got a chance to go on their Tour Bus, I got Autograph's on the back of their First Album, It's good to see that They still Rocking!...
Thank you Mark Adams for: Dreamin Just a Touch of Love Watching You Wait For Me ….and the list goes on and on! You were the greatest bass player ever! May you rest in peace..💐🕊️
Very beautiful sounds just like the original recording. One of my favorite funk bands. I always did wanna play bass like Mark. I'm learning the style though it's all good
My name is Tony Jackson from Dayton Ohio. I'm a studio engineer who worked for Zapp and Roger Troutman for 33 years. I wish was mixing the sound that day. I'm a award winning engineer who mixed I wanna be your man. By rip Roger Troutman
The best funk of the 70's and 80s was the group Slave. In school the bands always had to play the song Slide. The memories will forever be proud of giving this group respect and acknowledgement. We luv Slave forever. 💐 💐 😎
One of my all time favorite Bands the most under rated bands of all time there will never be another band to close to their greatness somebody tell The Fearless Leader that It's Time to lead and do the Damn reunion with new materal & get back the remaining orginal members and do it like it should be done SLAVE 4ever
Too many of these groups have differences from the past holding up a true reunion unfortunately. We can only hope. This is a great post regardless. Band was tight azz hell!
My cousin played SLIDE on his bass at a family picnic when I was maybe 12 or 13 years old . I knew then I had to get a bass guitar. Its sad that Mark and Bernard are no longer here, two of the BADDEST BASSIST ever .
Steve Arrington would say you are still keeping it alive. You sound great guys. The sax and trumpet are slamming and vocals are on time. I am one of the founding member and drummer of the greatest teenage group to come out of Asbury Park New Jersey. The name of The group was Unidentified Unidentified
This bass player is playing bass parts from the song "Inside Out" on Watching You. The original bass player for the song "Inside Out" was Sandy Anderson-RIP. In my opinion, Sandy had the closest bass sound to Mark Adams. This is a good cover band though...
I my favorites Orchestrated groups Band Slave because back in 😮😅😊❤😂 in the 70' always blessed in 85 until, they keep up going. LIKE THIS WONDERFUL VIDEO 📹 LIVE IN DETROIT DETROIT FUNKGY FUNKY TAMMY, JAMMIE 😮😊😂❤ FUNY

Lovin these jewels of my years of adolescence! Cool facts; I seen them at my first concert, I was 13yrs old, they opened for the Commodores in Dayton, Ohio. They graduated from Roth High school with my cousin. The Dayton fertile breeding grounds also would see the likes of Lakeside and ZAPP a few years later… the Ohio Players led the way and look at the talent that followed.
Great "Slave"Tribute Band. Sound Good Though. Backround Vocals On Point. But The Elements Are Steve Arrington,Curt Jones,Mark Hicks And Mark Adams. Without Them,No Slave...
Slave was an Ohio funk band popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Trumpeter Steve Washington, born in New Jersey, attended athletically acclaimed East Orange High School, and was one of the first users of the "electric trumpet". He and Mark Hicks ("Drac") formed the group in Dayton, Ohio in 1975. I was fortunate to see them on my birthday as the 2nd opening act for the GAP Band! A chick fainted when they sang the words "Why don't you slide?" Her embarrassed boyfriend looking down at her shouted..."'m taking yo' ass home!" Peace
They sound great, they really do, but imagine if they had Steve Arrington with them. He's still performing a lot of these songs live too, too bad they couldn't work something out. the guys singing sound great but no one does it like Steve
Second generation Dayton Funk stars Slave formed in Ohio in 1976 around a nucleus of guitarist Mark Hicks, singer/brass man Floyd Miller, bassist Mark Adams, guitarist/singer Danny Webster, and trumpeter Steve Washington - the nephew of pioneering funkateer, Ohio Players trumpeter Ralph “Pee Wee” Middlebrooks❤❤ Thank you Steve Washington❤😊
People here obviously don’t know much of Slave. First of this is not Slave. It’s a Drac and some guys. Another point. Steve Arrington was not the lead singer of Slide. Floyd Miller was. Steve Arrington was not a member of Slave when the song released.
Man this is awesome! Been listening to them since they came out. And, being from Dayton, they were hometown heroes. I wonder when this was filmed since Drac is on there? He died back in 2011 (R.I.P.). Mark Adams isn't there either, he passed the same year as Drac (R.I.P.)
As a Guitarist myself from the Funk Era along with Slave, Parliment Funkadelic, The Time, etc, I was disappointed with the Slide Solo from "Drac", my boy in the black & white outfit was much better and polished
This had to be prior to 2011. Mark "Drac" Hicks died in 2011, right after Mark Adams. Drac is the only original here but they do sound good but folks this concert isn't recent. RIP Drac, Mark Adams and Danny Webster.
Ok. Sounds good. Steve would be proud, maybe I don't know 😅, but he's coming back, can't wait. Steve .... you are very good tho. I like this alot. Niceeee
SLAVE response - There’s no bands back in the day that has all the same performers; including Earth, Wind and Fire, Ohio Players, Kool and the Gang,Temptations and Con Funk Shun. This lead singer is the best since the original SLAVE band. Steve Arrington was a wonderful front man but he was not an original member of SLAVE. Take a look at Steve Arrington’s latest videos then compare his current performances. He doesn’t look or sound as he did many years ago.
One of the best Funk bands to ever do it.
It's nice to see SLAVE still Playing, My favorite Group in the 70s,80s,You all sound Great SLAVE! 👍 👏 ❤
That's not Slave that's a knockoff version of the the original band. That fool that's singing is not Steve Arrington
Exactly. This guy is singing lightly over Steve’s pre recorded voice. It’s kind of funny but it is what it is. Love their songs @@MusicLoverPearson
@@MusicLoverPearson Floyd Miller sings lead on Slide. Steve Arrington wasn’t with the group on the first album. Plus that ai t Floyd.

This is a great funk band back in the 70s 80s. It’s good to see them singing again and having fun.
