  • The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome is a living museum of antique airplanes located in the Hudson Valley region of New York. The collection of aircraft is quite large and each weekend from mid-June thru mid-October the Aerodrome offers airshows. The Saturday show features pioneer airplanes and Golden Age airplanes. The Sunday show focuses on WWI aircraft with a fun drama show along with the flying. In addition to the air shows, the Aerodrome offers several buildings/hangars containing vintage airplanes on display. I've been attending shows at the Aerodrome since 1972! Lots of fun.
On Sunday, one of the biplanes in the show bumped another biplane causing an engine issue forcing the airplane to make an attempt at landing early. The pilot fell a bit short and landed in the trees. The pilot was unharmed.

Hi John! Thanks for the great video! MANY interesting planes! Even a New-Standard D-25. Flew in one at the Sun 'n Fun fly-in quite a number of years ago. Was really fun sitting behind that big Wright radial. The front seats have the best view as you are sitting where the lower wing doesn't restrict your view downward. COOL stuff!

Wow! That place got bigger since I was a teenager. I haven't been at the Rienbeck Aerodrome since 1985. Some of the replica aircraft you have on video, John, I have not seen back in 1985.

Richard, it continues to grow every year. It's a great place to visit. You should try and make it back! I've been going since 1972.

@Watchingthevideos99 Too poor, John. Living on an S.S.D.I. check and UBER, and being disabled keeping me from regular work is keeping me poor. Plus, I am paying out more since my girlfriend died in January.

The D-6 was on the flight line, but with the crash of the Bucker Junmann, they cancelled the remainder of the show. I expect it would have flown. One of my favorites also. Thanks for watching.

Who’s announcing the show? Has all kinds of information wrong. Dates of the Great War and plane types.

My first trip was around 1971 with my dad as well. If you have the opportunity to get back, do it. Thanks for watching.

Great video.... but the show announcer is ruining the credibility of Ol' Rhinebeck Aerodrome.... wrong dates regarding WW1 and that's a Fokker DVIII (D8) not a DV... 😒

Regarding the D8, I may have captured only a portion of the narration. He explains how the airplane began as the E.V in July 1918 which was later redesigned and became the DVIII October 1918. He's clear to point out the airplane flying is a DVIII. Thanks for watching.
