How have I not found this Chanel until now?
Saw this beauty in 2015 when my son and I drove in for a visit. Bought the t-shirt!
In 1988 I flew in and met Cole Palen who was pleasant and friendly. Great place!
Beautiful, just beautiful. I can't wait to go!
I loved visiting Old Rheinbeck as a kid in the early 70s with my family. My dad and I are still obsessed with aircraft history and scale models decades later. I need to go back!
Proper Old School Engineering and a truly beautiful D5a! Just WONDERFUL!
Thank you for watching!
My dad use to take me to Ole Rhinebeck Aerodrome back in the late 70’s. I will never forget it. I hope to see it once again!
Thank you for keeping the WW I aviation history alive! The Albatross was and is beautiful, ahead of it's time!
What a beautiful airplane. 👍😎
WOW!!! Absolutely amazing! I really hope to visit!!!
My fav WW1 fighter; what a great sight, keep it up boys!
Very cool. Thanks for preserving a living history and thanks for sharing your treasure.
You are welcome.
Much living history in New York. More people should know about ORA, can't wait to visit again. The restoration process is amazing, many thanks to the old school craftsmen that volunteer to keep history alive👍
Very beautiful D 5 Albatros
Vielen Dank für die geleisteten Arbeitsstunden, die zur lebendigen Erhaltung dieses Flugzeuges geleistet wurden.
Weiterhin guten Flug
I was there when the old one came off. Keep 'em flying boys!
That is one beautiful aircraft.
WOW!!--The "D.V.A."=is my all time favorite German-W.W.-1-Aircraft,-just so "Streamlined"-just like a 1936 Ford Coup'e !!-"Perfect"-from every angle !!
I hope that one day I might get to go over to see these planes, they are truly something to be in awe of.
You Guys are really great, you are doing so fantastic things! My Albatros DV is only a model with 1,2 m wingspan, but I had the same problem: making a new spinner. In my case, the 3d-printer helped. I wish you many wonderful and successful flights with your very pretty, bavarian-style Albatros DVa, hope to meet you one time, many greetings from Bavaria (Germany), Winni
I genuinely love the beauty of WW1 fighters. Not only that but the Germans always had beautiful paint schemes in that war. The way you guys repainted this albatross with the checkerboard white and powder blue at the rear half of the fuselage was stunning, and to leave the front wood natural aside from the white on and near the nose is fantastic. Plus I love the purple wings. The Luftsretkrafte would be proud. You guys did an amazing job.
That is one of the most beautiful schemes on anything I’ve ever seen I’ve become a massive fan of yours and constantly look for great pictures and videos of this stuff. Thanks
Thank you for posting
Can’t wait to visit
Glorious; thank you.
Amazing to think that there was once a time in human history where this was regarded with the same awe and wonderment as we now assign to the latest fighters like the F-22, Grippen, Su-27 and the like, and there's only been just over 100 years of development.
Great video... Keep up the excellent work!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Very beautiful plane
In my opinion the Albatros was the most beauty of the german planea in the WWI. Regards!
Mark, You may want to do an update on this story.
The spinner was added to provide for a little extra speed with the original Albatros D.Va. This might have been done with the Albatros D.III. My guess is that the ORA Albatros still uses the 175 H.P. Ranger in-line 6 cyl. engine. Most of the originals were equipped with a 200 H.P. Mercedes in-line 6 cyl. engine. Other engines might have been used.
In fact, the spinner was used from the D-l from the beginning.
Is that a 200 hp Ranger?
What RPM are you getting in flight?
What size prop are you using?
My Fokker DVII is only getting 2300rpm with a 80x44 prop.
Yes it's a 200 ranger. We get 2000 static and about 2300 flat out in the level.
@@markmondello726 Thanks for the quick reply.
what size prop?
WOW
The flying Bavarian Beer Barrel
