- It's day 1 of our holiday here in Albufeira, Algarve, Portugal. We're staying in Natura Algarve Club. That said, this isn't quite your average holiday. We're doing a bit of an experiment to see how we get on doing some work on line each day and enjoying the local area once we're done.
Today is our first day and we need supplies as we are staying on a self-catering basis, so after giving you a tour of our apartment, I take you food shopping to a local Intermarche. After a delicious lunch on our balcony, we head off on foot to the Old Town and seafront at Albufeira. We pass through the Praia dos Pescadores and stroll along the edge of the sea. We eventually find Albufeira Marina and enjoy a delicious meal in a restaurant on our way back to the hotel.

I love living in hotels, but it's also nice to live in an apartment too because then you get sort of a feel of how it is to live somewhere.

Not sure if time is just going by crazy fast because I've been so busy with my new job but it feels like you've been able to get away loads of late. Love to see it! Remember when I had impetigo, so annoying right?! That's a pretty well-equipped place indeed 😁 great to hear you're able to give the whole digital nomad lifestyle a good old try. The world going more and more digital really helps with that hey? That pepper was absolutely huge, but green is definitely the worst colour 😆 tomato jam hey? That sounds great, we didn't see it when we were there (although we weren't looking to be fair). Pumpkin jam sounds AMAZING!!! Very impressed with your Portuguese too. Felt like we were there with you on the walk - and there's something iconic about you wearing that hat 🤩 glad you didn't lose it! We bought some delicious wine for about €1.50 when we were there - although I'm not a connoisseur so maybe we should have used it in cooking - who knows?!

I get your joy about speaking and being understood 😃It is a great feeling. We spent 3 months a year in Fuerteventura and will be moving there permanently very soon, but I highly recommend spending time away from the UK if you can. Especially in the winter! Looks absolutely amazing where you are, really enjoying your vlogs. Enjoy and don’t work too hard! Xx

The pony wall with the shells all over the top was gorgeous. I would never have thought of doing something like that. Love all the shell animals on the building. Beautiful view overlooking the water and the hillside of white buildings. Instead of getting a souvenir of places I visit, I would be tempted to get a small tattoo. I wanted to get one in Vegas.. but I didn't think ahead on booking one as soon as we got there. Next time.. ha

Vilamoura has an amazing marina and it’s not far from Albufeira. We visited Albufeira last year attending a family wedding in the grande real Santa Eulalia. Stunning venue and views. Enjoy your trip 🎉

Is there a British culture in bathing? We had a bathtub growing up, but when I was more than 8 we would just shower in it, and most people dont get them even if they build new houses.
Maybe? Most of the homes I’ve lived in haven’t had a shower. So it’s just normal for me to take a bath.
