I made myself a a Dime challenge for 100 days and at the end of the 100 days it adds up to 505.00. and I'm am almost done with it. It takes self discipline to be able to save and I have learned that I can do it and it is an Amazing feeling.

Your correct pets are expensive and keep getting more and more expensive....... my service dog gets a allowance that I devide up in her binder categories
Her categories are:
Yearly exam and shots
Food and treats
Teeth cleaning care
Doggy emergency fund
And I have 1 credit card to cover what I don't have in her envelopes
They sure are. That's a great idea. I love all her categories!
Before I saw any cash envelop system I was keeping my money in regular smaller white envelopes. Put the item name on upper right hand corner. The amt I budget it for. Some math as to whether I dipped into it if I need change and my balance. I also thought no one would do my system thinking it was so primitive! Blown away when I found out so many people were doing similar system and adopted some ideas along the way. Feels good.
Going to start a penny & dime challenge today with some fun way to do it.
I listened to you today while cleaning out my sister's frig and continued after I rested from sweeping patio, sidewalk with trash & organizing my room. Very fulfilling productive day!!

Been derailed by my drivers license renewal of all things! On my birthday (heading out for a wknd away) I waited 3 hrs in DMV !! Unusual, semi annual & annual sinking funds updated while I waited.
Well, that's a long wait, but great job using that time productively. 😊👍

Recently our cars have been an issue. Last month I got my car inspected and it ended up being $1.4 K I had to put on a credit card 😢and yesterday my hubby needed new brakes and rotors so that was another $300. Started my car maintenance envelope a week ago, hopefully it will help us for future issues with our money pit cars 😅
Such a great idea. A car maintenance fund has really helped me!! And I just needed it recently and was so happy to have money set aside. It is so wise to start an envelope when you see a gap in the budget.

I do side hustles, try to save on groceries, and anything left over I put toward saving challenges.
