I’m really hoping to hunt this season. I’ve been getting my new rifle setup and have been trying out what ammo it likes best, but we were just blessed with a new baby so I’ll probably have to wait another year… Great rifle pickups, sir, and in great calibers. I can’t wait to see how they shoot
@@W.Edwardovich I really appreciate you watching! I wish you lived close to me, I'd let you borrow one! I love seeing new hunters and parents thinking about being self sufficient. While I am far from well off financially, now that my kids are grown I've been blessed to work on my gun caliber wish list. But I don't mind letting others borrow a hunting rifle to get started. I've been there before! Will be praying for you guys!
Your instincts are correct. 375 Ruger and the like tend to be used as big game brush guns in Africa and in the Western US. 20" is pretty standard in that kind of hunting (scrub, brush). Cape buffalo etc, are usually taken in close quarters (compared to elk, pronghorn, sheep, deer, etc.).
@@yabba5696 holy cow bat man! I thought these were expensive. Your gonna have to get into reloading too!!! Thanks for watching and commenting. God bless and good luck on your hunt!
375 Ruger was designed to duplicate 375 H&H in a 20" barrel Ammo online the 375 is cheaper than 338 Hornady is still the only ammo maker for the 375 Ruger unfortunately.
@@waynebontjes253 I'm certainly going to have to work up loads for both! But I am looking forward to getting them to the range! Thanks for watching and commenting, God bless!
Of the two, I'd go with the 338 Win. because it is a better all around cartridge and the ammo is more widely available and varied. For some reason the 375 Ruger never caught on while the 375 H&H still rules. But the 375 H&H requires a magnum length action which is more expensive which is its main disadvantage. So put me in the 338 Win. club.
@@PassivePortfolios I can't disagree but I did get a good deal on the 375 ruger and I reload. But still not going to be shooting the 375 that often. Thanks for watching and commenting, God bless
I have both the 338 Win mag and the 375 Ruger, both are excellent cartridges. God bless🙏🏻

@@GodsCountryShootingOutdoors Reloading makes sense if you plan to use a less popular cartridge, so I agree with your choice.
