Thank you for this! I am an oil painter and also do acrylic pouring, but have been hoping to get into Pollock style paintings, so this was super helpful. Also, your driveway looks like the floor of my basement, haha.
Wow, this is so amazing, the process was so very cool. Thank you for teaching us all your special skills. I think I just found and new love of art. I'm going to try to do this for my friends and family. Everyone is going to get a Rob painting. LOL
Is there a reason why you stirred not shaken the paint to mix them? I have house paint left over from paint jobs, so it is awesome that I can finally use up some of the paint I have lying around
Thanks Coty. I am a beginner an I am please to see that my idea to start corresponds to the way you made the first layer. I found it funny the moment you wiped the dirty glove on your pants :) Best regards fron Italy .. Merry Christmass
I don't know what happened to the painting afterwards, but it would be interesting to see it on display. It can look quite different on a wall, framed, compared to on the floor. Good work though and really interesting to experiment with the Pollock technique.
thanks for this; very cool! i have used heavy bodied acrylic and fluid acrylic for drip-paintings...i live in a desert; the paint is usually dry in about 5 minutes ... or less ... a blessing and a curse. Great for layering....
I have this specific idea for a painting for months that requires a certain amount of the canvas with pollock style... you have helped me a lot with your videos to understand what kind of painting use, the technique required and what mistakes not to make. Thanks a lot!!!!
As a paint maker, be careful about adding so much water. You'll break down the molecular chain, causing the paint to fail over time. I know its a demonstration. Oh. Paint viscosity depends in performance. More fillers are used for better coverage and the thinner ones are tinted to a medium. House paint (latex) is very different than the oil based paint Pollock used. Still...thank you for experimenting! And great work!!!
White paint is more opaque so that it covers better. Some of the other colors are more translucent so that one can see a bit of the grain of the piece, etc. Paint companies make it that way.
Looks good, I am thinking of starting to paint in this technique. Personally I liked it at 29:38, as I like the white and grey. I will continue to learn from your videos :)
So it depends on the quality of the paint. Some do, some don’t. The brand I use doesn’t but I have had brands that did. Cheaper ones like Walmart’s brand and Clark and Kensington did.
@@Experience_06 I come with names based on how I feel about the finished piece. As for writing, I simply write the name and my signature on the back of the canvas in Sharpie.
You're mixing oil paint and water-based paint on your background? That's not a good idea, to be honest. Oil and water-based paints don't like to mix with each other. They will look okay for a while, but they'll separate at some point. I've been painting for almost 50 years and I've made my share of mistakes over that time. So try staying with one medium oil or water-based for each painting to be on the safe side from now on. Hope it helps :-)

31:15 that's already perfect to me
Good job nice❤
White is thick and opaque because of the minerals it’s made of.
Can I get your results
With only eggshell enamel paint ?
Or will it not look good ? 🙌☹️

When colors dry they oftentimes change in their depth of color.
Amazing. Thank you!

Merry xmas coty 🎄
Merry Xmas friend. All the best.
It's not easy this is not for everyone be able to learn and appreciate accolades for the wonderful showcase
You are so right, you should have had the time to let the different layers dry. So gesso it and give it another try ;-).
Please.....what type of paint did you make use of, Acrylic or oil paint ??
water based gloss enamel
Have you ever thought that you could become the Bob Ross of the abstract paintings?
Yes. But people liked Bob Ross, so he had that.

Perfecto!!
Does the background consist of silver and dark gray or did you use white as well? Awesome job - Loved watching it!
I believe it was just silver and dark grey
Coty Schwabe thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated. Have a great weekend!
Beautiful 😍
Do you paint with normal enamel paint or with acrylic?
does house paint crack overtime?
So it depends on the quality of the paint. Some do, some don’t. The brand I use doesn’t but I have had brands that did. Cheaper ones like Walmart’s brand and Clark and Kensington did.
What if you squeegeed it after a while

Hello from France ☺
you say you use house paint, is it acrylic house paint?
You can use acrylic house paint.
It was, a question important for me... Thanks you to ask that... 🙏
Hi Coty love your work 👍👍👍 love to chat with you privately and send you a few pics and clips for you to critique please?
Love your driveway 💫
Any reason why you are always using Dunn Edwards's paint?
They were the only ones making the gloss enamel I liked. And I could order any color I wanted. But you can use other brands
Great work! Just wondering if the canvas can be unmounted and rolled up. Is the house paint brittle and would chip on rolling?
It can be unmounted. I have sold rolled paintings. But the gloss enamel is a little more flexible than regular house paint.
Thanks,@@CotySchwabe!
Amazing! Is it possible on wood panel?
Yes
Dots work fine art dots and line painting work
Hello I wanna ask what kind of pain do you use? :) thanks in advance :)
@Davy STUN rude
Guess I answered my own question, stir instead of shake due to air bubbles
Also, the cans get exhausting to shake lol.
Türkçe çevriyi açabilir misiniz..
Am I right in saying that the paint is regular gloss paint?
It’s gloss enamel. Essentially shiny house paint.
How you put a title of your paintings?
What do you mean? How do I come up with names? Or how do I put them on the painting itself?
@@CotySchwabe yes

Go away
Hahah....wow..your like the modern day kindergarten painters. Bet you could sell this for at least one juice box and a cookie.

As an real artist you have to find your OWN UNIQUE way of painting. Otherwise you are producing more or less good copies.
