1993 was the year I really got into college football (i was 13). As a Knoxvillian I've always been a Vols fan, but that summer I heard of a team called Auburn who weren't allowed to play on TV or go to any bowl games. Curious about this team I followed them in the papers every week, and the more they won the more I cheered for them. And when they went undefeated I was more happy about that than I was about my Vols. And ever since then Auburn has always been my second favorite team. Go Tigers!
Terry was in the shadow of his father Bobby;who, won it all that year. However; coach Ditka, Chicago bear coach, said(and I quote, the Bowden that should have won was Terry!! Look it up!
Most definitely this team was the best in the country. Thank you for this video. So many want to ish on Terry Bowden, and if so; so be it. He did deliver an undefeated season for Auburn. I will always claim a NC for AU for 1993.
I'm a huge Auburn fan been all my life, I'm 53 now and in 93 a good friend of mine at that time who is also a big bama fan and we would watch the iron bowl together the 3 years up to the 93 season, he had called me day before the game and said he had bought 2 tickets to the game I can't remember exactly who he got tickets from but do know he paid $300 for the tickets because of one no TV for Auburn that Year and plus we were undefeated bama I think was 9 and 1 or 8 and 2 can't remember exactly that either been so long, anyway he said I got the tickets if you supply the ride there which we lived in Tuscaloosa so being a Auburn fan in bama capital was always fun to me, we had end zone tickets I mean front row right there with the hedges right in front of us at first I thought this is not going to be a very good spot to see the game but for some reason all the action from scoring or any big play in the game happened right where we were sitting on our side of the end zone even the big throw and catch from Nix to Sanders, always loved hearing the late Jim Fyfe who in my opinion will always be not just the greatest radio announcer in Auburn history but also one of top 3 all time announcer in all football
Dillard High 5 in the building Frank Sanders, Brian Robinson, James Bostic, Otis Mounds, Calvin Jackson. I remember taking my Auburn visit and Brian Robinson had that candy green box Chevy up there beating Auburn use to recruit Lauderdale real hard
It was a great year for Auburn but if Terry had kept coaching instead of going to concerts and playing around instead of coaching he could still be at Auburn but he let it go to his head
Terry Bowden was a good coach. His only bad year was 1998 and Housel fired him for a 1-5 start that year. Then came Tuberville, Chizik, Malzahn and Bryan Harsin
Housel didn’t really fire him out the gate he informed him that he was not going to be retained unless he went four out of five of our remaining games meaning We had to beat La tech UCF And two out of three against Arkansas Georgia And Alabama He wasn’t helping his case either with his off the field antics

Auburn University needs to recognize this team as National Champions. To hell with what others think. best team in the country

Magical season I was there! Fun ride.
As a roll Tide fan, I respect this season
I didn't make it to Baton Rouge, but i saw the other ten, no question best team in the country in 1993.

Is there anywhere I can get the soundtrack for this video?

Jason Miska the original sandwich artist ;) the Alaskan assassin!!!!!
Lauderdale

Tommy Bowden and Wayne Hall were the reason. Terry was a pr guy and a figurehead.
Terry was starting to lose support of the players and his staff
Housel didn’t really fire him out the gate he informed him that he was not going to be retained unless he went four out of five of our remaining games meaning
We had to beat
La tech
UCF
And two out of three against
Arkansas

AUBURN NEEDS to reignite it's fire and drive to win here in 2024.WDE.
@ I don’t think much if anything can be done about 2024. Looking ahead to having a much better 2025 seems much more feasible
Auburn will meet Samford for the last time until they meet again in 2011, and 2014.
911 ? I'll never forget where I was when Calvin went for a pick 6
lol. same. I was in a Winn Dixie parking lot in Atlanta.
How did other SEC teams fans watch their own teams when they played Auburn?
They had to listen on the radio like Auburn fans had to all season.
War eagle
Same story as always for Auburn. Cheating
Lmao right
At least the story doesnt end in jail time like the same ole story for Uga....or really their players.
YEah moron..Georgia has never gave money to any of their players
None of these guys had a thing to do with it silver britches. LOL. Eric Ramsey just pissed Auburn off.
