Kudos!! This was perfectly done and looks very helpful to what I was planning to do after watching how to build the diy acrylic pyramid. Hope you're still making pptx and how to videos, as this one is from 8yr ago. You Rock
Have been eager to produce my own pyramid hologram videos to use for Halloween! Laid my 40" TV on it's back once and had dancing anime and hulk images in the Frankenstein's Monster lab in our garage one year! I plan to incorporate this in to a spaceship that we're building for this year's Halloween decor...Alien-Steve, etc! Thanks for the great information and I look forward to putting it in action!
You are amazing! Clear English speaker, nice voice, very easy for foreigners to understand you. Also, you have a very kind way to teach, talking in all details. Also, nice hints! Very motivational. Thank you to teach us!
Thank you so much, Reginaldo! I'm glad you appreciate the elements that go into making my videos - it takes me forever because I do think carefully about the flow, voice / word usage / clarity, etc. - so happy that it's making a difference :).
I would say this is a clever idea! The uniqueness of your tutorial is, use of simple amd global tool such as power point to enable even a basic computer user to understand and implement!!! Clever you clever you clever you🎉
WOW that's amazing - congrats, Madhavi! That's exactly why I put these tricks up there - so people can impress their audiences (and their parents too!). Thanks for sharing!
Finally someone who actually understand a little more xD Thou this is not 3D, This is 2D, you have to move yourself or move the tablet to be able to get 3D (when still you only see height and width, you can not see depth)
Yes, correct - this is the closest thing we can get to a 3D hologram "effect" at the consumer level ... for now. But it's definitely just a 2D projection that looks more 3D if you view from multiple angles. Still very cool though.
Thanks, CosmotheChocobo! Yes, I am trying my best, though it's not easy to keep up, as things are changing constantly :). Glad you enjoyed, and thanks for the comment!
Doubtless, you are talented and excellent. Could you please tell me how I can use hologram in education in general and teaching and learning English in particular.
Thank you!! You could make some kind of images as holograms and have students shout out what it’s called in English? Just one idea! Your students are lucky to have you thinking creatively for them!
What a nice comment - thank you so much, Heather! I am always learning myself, as there is really a community of "Wizzes" out there - it's a constant process :). Really appreciate it, and glad you enjoyed!
Thanks, Multibe - you may also want to check out the video I just posted to see some pretty cool advanced animations in PowerPoint. Appreciate that you've subscribed!
Loved the tutorial on the 3D video hologram selfie. Definitely planning on using it! I had no idea it could be done in PowerPoint of all things lol. Thanks for the very informative info.
Thanks, Bryan - glad it was useful! Yes, it's crazy how much PowerPoint can do that people don't really think about - so my mission on this channel is to expand people's thinking about it.
If we make 4 time lines and 3 cameras at 120 degree separation then create separately or together then separate in time line delay in refresher rates then we use pyramid glass cover projection. But advance way is electrodynamic for light polarization and sound surround
For sure! PowerPoint can do much more than people realize :). Check out my other videos for more examples (and there are so many other channels now out there for it too!)
Wow, thank you for the comment, Emily! It took me quite a while to think about how to make this video to show something a little different than others, so glad it's more useful than the other one you saw.
This is an awesome tutorial. Not only does it teaches but the voice and tenor of the presenter and the presentation are calming, assuring...simply put, I can listen for hours.. lol. Great job, thank you and Yes,..liking and subscribed!
Great video. Really helpful. I would like to share that video sound not synchronizing can be removed by Muting the three videos and give volume to only One of the videos. Really works in mine...
Yes, it's a bit complicated, but if you just buy the pyramid and then use a pre-made video, it's hardly any work at all :). It's making your own video that's a bit tougher. Glad you liked the trick overall though - thanks, Kiera!
Basic use of peppers ghost, good job. I recommend taking video of you from all sides so that when you walk around you get that three dimensional feel. 🤓
+Christopher Salch yes indeed basic use of peppers ghost - still a useful technique! ! Great idea - for a project when you know you'll be walking around the pyramid - that's a perfect way to make it even cooler. Thanks for sharing, Christopher!
Vertical/Portrait video recording for maximum frame-usage would be even better, but you already blew me away with doing this in PP o.O Congrats and thanks. Your tutorial will make many pupils very excited and happy.
Good idea, since you're cutting the video anyway around your head. My phone tripod was just set on landscape from before so I went ahead and used that setting. Glad to hear this was useful - yes, it's perfect for a classroom - as it's low-tech, but can look AMAZING and very memorable if students haven't seen this effect yet. Thanks, Christoph, for the comment and helpful tip!
But what good is this work if it only shows one side and the moving image? 3D hologram is a static image and the camera that turns to show the 4 sides, otherwise it's just a video projection, stupids!
Hi Dear You are just amazing. The technique, presentation and presentor... are just beautiful. I recommend your video to my son for his school project. Just keep coming with more such amazing videos. Good Luck!!!
Wonderful, and thank you! This would be very useful for your son to get better with PPT and stand out in his classes - very smart on your part to recommend the channel!
You can make the picture moving / animated in PowerPoint and then export to a video. You can then follow the same steps for exporting as a 4-part video and then using with the pyramid.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Nidia! You could do this with a static image as well - to make it look like it's floating, you could indeed take out the background (even using PowerPoint) and then replace it with black. Hope that helps!
That was a fantastic introduction and demonstration. Another idea would be how to do this with the whole body, so someone could do fitness or yoga or something as a demonstration. But, totally, that was awesome!!! Thank you.
Absolutely - if you have a green screen, you can totally do it with your whole body as well (the method shown here might be too complicated to do with your whole body). Thanks for the idea, Ross AHPRA!
Hmmm you could do live video but You would just not do it in PowerPoint. If you have a live feed on the web somewhere (ideally with a black background) you could open the web browser and use one side of the pyramid projector. 4 at once would be tricky though.
Thank you! I really appreciate your coming back to this! I've seen some designs of hologram boxes with just one sheet of plastic and I'll start with that. Also thinking 3 sides of the pyramid; three tablets and a nanny cam with a live cloud feed. I'll do the one side this week for Bring Your Child to Work and work on the nanny cam project for a friend's party in October. Thanks again! John
Thanks for sharing. I'm new to powerpoint. Did you set up the slide beforehand with any particular options selected? When I export my files are separate. I see that you have four slides. Thx.
Hmmm are you exporting to video? They should make one file. There aren't really special settings other than the process I showed. What version are you using?
Thanks for the suggestion! Yes, it has actually been on my list, since it can definitely be done in PPT. Didn't realize it was a cool thing on websites now, so good tip! Since you're suggesting it, I'll definitely bump it higher on the priority list. :)
I have a question...you mentioned to use the biggest screen possible and make or purchase the pyramid according to your screen. Can you give me a more exact measurement? I have seen the small ones for a smart phone but nothing larger. I would like to use my Surface tablet. Where could I find a pattern to use for this?
Hi Veronica - glad you're thinking about trying this out! I got mine on Amazon and it was for a tablet, so it was larger than the ones for the phone. I couldn't find the exact link (maybe that company is out of business) but if you search for one designed for a tablet, you'll get the size that I used here.
Not sure what you mean by flash the video - but if you mean make it disappear, you can just use any of the PowerPoint exit animations - Dissolve or Random Bars or anything you like - that's what's great about using PPT - you can use its full animation capability.
Thank you for the tutorial. I am working through this tutorioral with my 7th and 8th grade STEM class. We are having ONE major issue...(after cropping the videos before duplicating them) when you click the play button it shifts the video to the left so only half their faces are showing in the video
Which version of PowerPoint are you using? When I save my video, they are only playing up after each other. GREAT TUTORIAL. Big thankyou, and I look forward seeing more of your videos :)
I'm using the latest version (365) but sounds like you need to make all of your videos "start with previous" in order to make them go at the same time - can you check that on your animation settings? Thanks for the nice comment, Astrid!
is there any way to make my computer display the 4 panel for everything? I use it for TV and was hoping to set it up in the mid of my living room. any help would be awesome, thanks.
+youngwolf20 not sure I quite understand but will try - you want to use the tv to project? You can make the video on your computer but will then have to lay your tv flat in order to make it work - if that's what you're looking to do I can send you a tutorial for how to use this with your tv.
kinda I want to make it so that it will display 4 panel at all times no mater what is on the screen. that way say I am watching a movie on Netflix it will be coming from my desktop to my tv, that way I can watch it in the hologram. does that make sense? lol I have never tried to explain it before and not really sure how.
Hi Toshika - thank you so much - I'm glad you liked it and found it useful :). I am using PPT 365 (the very latest version right now - the subscription model) but this can really be done with any version of PowerPoint that supports video - so 2010 onward.
I don't know if you'll get the quality you're looking for when doing drafting. You can always try, but I would probably get a more traditional monitor for something like that. Companies are starting to do drafting in VR though, so that's probably something to look forward to and try out in the future.
I even didn't know that I can embed video in powerpoint, thank you) I discovered many more opportunities trying to save it as a video, but unfortunately it said that I don't have enough place((( But still I'm adding this video to my 'The best' playlist =))))
I've used power point before but never really messed with the video options. Thanks for the cool video and giving me some great ideas. P.S. : Have you tried this with landscape, like a mountain or field yet? Just a thought.
Hi RG Ogden Jr. - glad that you're getting inspired to play more with the video options! PPT 2010 onward is great with video. You can check out a cool video-related tutorial of mine here: ua-cam.com/video/ITXGGEMdpE0/v-deo.html For a landscape, this could potentially work, but it works best with objects that are isolated in black - so one single mountain would be good - but a continuous landscape painting would not look ideal. Definitely experiment though - this is a pretty addictive trick!
Hi there, just wanna ask on how to put your trademark "powerpoint spice" in your entire video using ppt. If you have a video of it, please give me the link. Thanks!
+One Skill Haha yeah taking it to a new dimension :) - thanks for watching, Oneskill. By the way about to release a new video today or tomorrow if all goes well.
hi! i want to make a hologram for my event and like u said, hologram is best shown when there are people around it, but in my case, the audience will be at the front so i want to make just like u did with yr selfie hologram. so we just enlarge one video on top of the x right? no need for other 3 videos?
Correct! Just make sure that the audience can see the front panel very well (even those sitting on the side) and make it as large as possible with the screen you're using. Good luck!
Hello there, nice presentation ,can you tell me how or where find in powerpoint A 3D hologram video i can put only my picture ; I cant not make my picture to have voice or moving.
If you search UA-cam for "hologram video" you will find lots of 4-panel "hologram" videos already made for you that you can use with the pyramid on your phone, tablet, or computer (with the screen horizontal). Doing this in PowerPoint gives you the advantage of customizing your video, using various entrance/exit effects, and playing with the shading. This effect works pretty well with simple pictures too, by the way (using the same PPT technique). Hope this answers your question, and thanks for watching!
I have a project to do this year about the fashion I would like to instal a silouetter with a dress that surrounds itself in part of a larger hologram how to do,
You always come up with something great. I'm wondering if you used 4 cams (or iphones) you could put the front, 2 sides and the back at the x. Then, if you had it up on a stand, people could walk around it and it would be kind of like 3D??? I don't know if that would actually work or not, but I was just thinking...
Great to hear from you, and yes, this would definitely work and look very cool. The only thing I'd say is that if you're just doing a talking head like I did in this video, you could get away with just filming it 4 times from different angles with the same phone/camera. You'd then mute 3 of the sides - and no one will really know the difference. If you are doing something like a dancing video with very complicated moves, then 4 cameras would indeed be very useful. Love the creativity!
Yes, it's definitely not - but one of the closest / easiest ways we can get a small taste of what sort of looks like it at the mass market level so we can start imagining the possibilities. Can't wait for the real thing to be broadly available!
Actually, I have a better idea, but it would only show one still image. However it actually would be in 3D. The image you get from reflecting a flat TV screen will only give you a flat reflection, but if you use a real object, like a white knight from a chess set (actually need four of them) they could be reflected with black backgrounds, from all four positions, and then you will actually have a 3D reflection, just like looking in a mirror. After all, it is the slight difference between your eyes that allow you to see 3D and so a real object will show up that way.
+crushed51 it's possible - not sure what exactly the screen size would need to be but it would be bigger than most the out there - maybe a 90 inch tv would work. Otherwise the smaller the would work for toddler sizes.
Hello, I enjoyed the video and i tried to do this myself following each step carefully but when i wanted to rotate all 4 video to allign with the x i could not rotate them i can rotate the x but not the videos any tips?
Check out my latest hologram video here! ua-cam.com/video/XNlOaq1n3-Y/v-deo.html

PowerPoint Spice Actually theres a real holographic machine, it uses water (almost like fog) and lasers 😊 👍
Great to see educational videos on what can be done with a home computer & software .. Excellent
Thanks so much, Computerman! Glad you enjoyed. Absolutely - I love to bring people effects using simple stuff they hopefully already have.
Really good tutorial...clear and thorough and a clever idea! Thank you!
Thanks, James! So glad you enjoyed and found it clear. Appreciate the comment!
Ooh! I see you're getting in with the trends. I appreciate how you want to present things in very creative ways! I feel inspired! Thanks!

Thank you so much for the comment, BST Bali ! (I’m just now catching up!). Glad it was useful.
I will use your method. Thank u for your step by step details. :) I shall create multiple videos of me and my friends. I can save this ppt as gif :)
Fantastic!! And what a good idea!

Excellent Wondering whether this technique can be used with small other video / film clips as well. Definitely going to try out.
Hi Aniruddha - yes, it absolutely can! Just make sure you stay within the boundaries of each panel so that it fully shows up. Thanks for the question!
Wowww!!! I didnt realise u can make this with powerpoint! I never even thought that there'd be a YT channel dedicated to PPT
For sure! PowerPoint can do much more than people realize :). Check out my other videos for more examples (and there are so many other channels now out there for it too!)
Lovely video. Clearly and effectively presented! Awesome!!
ID seen a video like this before but yours is by far better

I agree, so many of these "how-to" YT Videos have some generic machine-generated voice
Great video. Really helpful. I would like to share that video sound not synchronizing can be removed by Muting the three videos and give volume to only One of the videos. Really works in mine...
Great - thanks!!

So complicated, dont know if i can do it or not but.. It's so coollllllll !!! I love it :D

Very cool, thanks for creating this video!
Thanks so much for the comment, Geetesh! So glad you liked it :).
Basic use of peppers ghost, good job. I recommend taking video of you from all sides so that when you walk around you get that three dimensional feel. 🤓

Thanks verry easy with power point but can we put a pictur and make it moving in place? pleaz answer me i have project this month

Hmmm are you exporting to video? They should make one file. There aren't really special settings other than the process I showed. What version are you using?
U should try a parallax effect! It would be really cool! Very trendy on popular websites!
Thanks for the suggestion! Yes, it has actually been on my list, since it can definitely be done in PPT. Didn't realize it was a cool thing on websites now, so good tip! Since you're suggesting it, I'll definitely bump it higher on the priority list. :)

Hi Toshika - thank you so much - I'm glad you liked it and found it useful :). I am using PPT 365 (the very latest version right now - the subscription model) but this can really be done with any version of PowerPoint that supports video - so 2010 onward.
Thanks for this, this help for my presentations in school!!!
Awesome, thanks for the comment! You will be a star in school with this :).
can you use this as a computer display for 3D drafting like Tony Stark of Iron Man
I don't know if you'll get the quality you're looking for when doing drafting.
Hi, great video! but if you only use one face, you don't need 4 panels on the pyramid, am i right? So basically just a reflecting surface will do?
That Format tab is not showing in my powerpoint. From where to get it?
Owesome, very informative. Great job!
Thank you, Carlos!
Amazing.....Really wonderful
Thank you, Nitin! So glad you liked it!
Nice tutorial as always
Thanks so much, Walter!
Good job
Thanks, Vincent!
Woooowww !!!!! Thats reallyyyyyyyy Awesome :) Good Job :)
Thanks so much - glad you liked it!!
Thank you sooooo much!! This helped me a lot!!
Wonderful to hear - thank you for the comment, Sahil. Glad you enjoyed (you may like my others too!).
This is genius! Really cool, keep up the great work😊
+Nikki V. Thanks, Nikki v! Really glad you enjoyed :).
You can check out a cool video-related tutorial of mine here: ua-cam.com/video/ITXGGEMdpE0/v-deo.html
For a landscape, this could potentially work, but it works best with objects that are isolated in black - so one single mountain would be good - but a continuous landscape painting would not look ideal. Definitely experiment though - this is a pretty addictive trick!
Now that I have your attention,OCD off, What version of PowerPoint are you running? I have iMac Office 2011.
I have PPT 365 for PC - though most of my tricks can be done in earlier versions as well.
Hi there, just wanna ask on how to put your trademark "powerpoint spice" in your entire video using ppt. If you have a video of it, please give me the link. Thanks!
Thanks for the awesome video, you have inspired me. Also I was not aware that power point can edit videos
So great to hear, Ben - really glad this helped. My mission is to spread the word about what awesome stuff you can do in PPT. Appreciate the comment!
WOW :) well that is some really out of the box PowerPointing :) awesome

I have a project to do this year about the fashion I would like to instal a silouetter with a dress that surrounds itself in part of a larger hologram how to do,
You can make the dress with the animations you want in PowerPOint, then export that to a video and then use the same procedure. Sounds interesting!
Thank you very much for your contribution!!!
Thank you for the comment, Miguel! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Well explained Madam
Thank you! I have a new one on this topic too on case it’s useful!
Thank you for acknowledging that this IS NOT A REAL HOLOGRAM, but merely a reflection, and a flat one, at that.
Question :
Is it possible to make a life size hologram, and if so what size screen would it need ?.
