Why did it show Sanath Jayasuriya when they were talking about pinch hitters? Jayasuriya was not a pinch hitter by any stretch of the imagination! He was a proper batsman and one of the best openers ODI and T20 cricket ever saw!
@@arjunjmenon : I'm afraid I would have to disagree on that. Jayasuriya has played many responsible innings as well. He was one of Sri Lanka's most successful captains as well. On the other hand, I would never call Sehwag a pinch hitter. Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, Thisara Perera are good example of pinch hitters, but not Sehwag. The main definition for a pinch hitter for me is that, pinch hitters are good in attacking but their defensive game is not that good. Jayasuriya and Sehwag were proper batsmen who are aggressive in nature. If needed they could always play the defensive game as well. It doesn't sound right to call them pinch hitters. I may be wrong but this is how I think.
@@Lakshitha2007 yes , I agree to some of the points . Why do you think there is drastic reduction in quality of srilankan cricket ? Is it because sangakkara and mahela left ? Murali & vaas left long ago ,so that cannot be the reason . Even Bangladesh would overtake SL soon . It is ridiculous to see each series ,sl would bring new set of players .
a lower order batsman who is capable enough with the bat coming in the batting powerplay to go for shots and make runs of it.. like sunil narine opening for kkr
The only guy who could break Sir Don Bradman's record

@@arjunjmenon Did you know we have won 24 out of 28 when he scored a hundred? Jayasuriya was a proper batsman who's attitude was the aggression.
@@dhananjaya1251 I consider him the Sri lankan version of sehwag .
What a cricketer he was 👏
Love u sanga from India
Kumar Sanghakara my favourite player.
This is an extremely dated discussion (filmed before the 2015 World Cup). That tournament really moved the 50-over game on.
Please upload the full masterclass episode with Brian Lara.
proud of you sanga
❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍🙏🙏
Why is he wearing the durham juersy??
Because he played for Durham in the County Championship. He played extremely well too!
If you watch IPL, you will have a tough time with this question.
What is a pinch hitter?
Irfan pathan coming in at number 3
a lower order batsman who is capable enough with the bat coming in the batting powerplay to go for shots and make runs of it..
like sunil narine opening for kkr
