Really good tip for the brake disc, I am glad it worked. Everyone's forgotten their disco lock at one time or another, with everything else going on it is understandable. Glad you and the bike are OK.
Good tip on front disc lock is to always mount it on the disc without the ABS ring on it. Just in case, so you won't rip the ABS sensor in worst case scenario.
I spent three months and 12,000 miles last summer arsing around Europe incident free. Within a week of being back in England I did exactly the same outside a chemist in my local town. Blocked the road, caused a massive traffic jam and needed the help of bystanders to get the bike upright again 😆😆 All part of the fun !!
It happens mate. I think the embarrassment is worse than the actual damage in these situations. I did the same years ago on my CB400. I had just put brand new OEM mirrors on it too... and bam, broke one clean in half. Use the cable! Bright side, you've dropped it now. Better there than in a ditch when you find out its too heavy.
Unlucky Gary, we've all done it, hope not to much damage. Great video, loved that little pedal motor you ride, so cool 😎 😀 I dropped mine outside the dealers, they were wetting themselves 🥴
Taco Moto uses a license plate holder that has a magnet to keep the plate centered. I'd be tempted to use it for the higher CG bikes. Lone Rider has alluded to using magnets on side sacks that would dislocate when brushing against a tree - for instance.
I'm really happy to see your channel js growing and filling up of subcribers! Congrats dude!! Today's video is simply nice and hahahaha! Cool! I am actually an enduro, adventure, trabel and I love stunt since my chilhood with bicycles and later with motorcycles but you never imaging the bunch of times i've dropped my bike the same way ! GDmm lock! So the thing is to Learn how to lift it and get the havit to do it. Anyway Just go forward with your adventure and in the meantime we'll be supporting you. !! Have a great Journey!
I'm in LOVE with sound of this machine! Have you changed the mic-placement or something? Awesome!! Must add it's always a good drop, when the self esteem gets the main damage! :)
I dropped my Pan-European on Achill Island 10 years ago, same reason as you, only thing damaged was my pride ..You,d want to try lifting that brute on your own...In 1950,s early 60,s I can remember little motor bikes like the one you took for spin...NSU quickly and Puch were two I recall,They were a big step up from a bicycle..
Hi Gary, hope this finds you well. That’s why i never put a disc lock on my bike takes only one time forgetting it to land on the face. Wouldn’t anyway stop any thieves since most of them load the bike in trucks. Now you have a bit more feedback on the ECU remap, what kind of feedback would you give ? Hope all is good 👍🏽🍻
Aww no I’ve done that with a reminder on 😩 since then i bought an alarmed disc lock with a reminder, as soon as you move the bike the alarm sounds. We’ve all done it, glad not more serious.
Honestly if you seen half the stupid mistakes I or anyone else has done !!!!!!! Main thing your good and the bikes good , and the adventure continues keep goin big lad 👊
Theone thing I’d say you did wrong ,was, to retract the side stand before starting to lift bike. Iu’d have deployed stand to lift and lean bike in one action. Small picky point sorry. Good programme sir 👍🏻
Hey man, you don't need a reminder cable. Just stick to one simple rule: if you park in a way that you'll be able to just drive away put the disc lock on the lower part of the disc closest to the brake calliper. If you need to back it first before riding away put the disc lock on the top of the disc closest to the fork. You won't be able to move the bike more than an inch before the disc lock touches brake calliper or fork respectively. Never failed me in 20 years of riding. Problem solved, you're welcome. Peace!
These things happen,. I remember when I started driving I did it on Patrick Street and ended up in the middle of traffic ,everyone looking at me . Mortified but no real damage.
Ah look, it was a silly mistake but we all make them. At least you have a good attitude about it as in not beating yourself up too bad over it. I know if that was me I would be kicking myself for a day or two but that is never any use. As soon as we accept that mistakes are going to happen and as long as the damage is not significant and nobody gets hurt then all is good. Looks like the only lasting thing is a scuff on the exhaust which doesn't even look that bad. If anything it will act as a reminder to take an extra few seconds in the future to do some checks before setting off. Ride safe.
Use a disc lock with an audio alarm. They activate as soon as the handlebar is moved. No warning cable needed.

Sorry about the incident dropping the bike. We all make mistakes. Glad it wasn't too costly. Safe travels

I've been there done that knackered the disc ended up replacing both disks. I'm glad the bike is OK

No matter how much experience you have, you can still make a "rookie" mistake, happens to all of us. Part of the adventure!

I do the same. More theft protection and a reminder if I forget to take it off.
Never a dull moment :)

The brake disk is bended so! Once again to a workshop! And sort that out! Almost right away!😊

You need to stop turning the bike off with the kill switch.
It will harm the electrical system in the long run.
