What an amazing family, taking you under their wing when you needed it most. Been in a similar breakdown situation before, where a hotel owner that I had just booked accommodation with, handed me her car keys to go get the parts I needed for my bike 50 miles away. Didn't know me from Adam. I'll be eternally grateful and have made sure to pass my good fortune on to others facing difficulties.
During my 66 years of traveling around the world I’ve found people are wonderful and beautiful. It’s governments in conjunction with the MSM that make others look unreasonable and dangerous. When I subscribed I knew your journey would be special. 👍👍👍
Hi Gary, That’s the magic of a bike trip, you never know what’s going to happen next. I’m still in touch with people I met on the road 25 years ago 😁✌🏻
Probably didn’t feel like it but I think it was worth losing that wallet to meet those generous and hospitable people. Probably the best way to learn the language totally immersed with the people.
What a start to the journey with the stolen wallet, good job having the foresight to not keep the eggs all in one basket so to speak, and still having the bank of Ireland card, such friendly people helping you with the police and bikers too, those lads are confident riders with no protective gear ! Good luck Gary hopefully no more dramas of the worrying kind.
Love the episode. Sorry about the wallet. Sometimes things like that lead to memorable experiences though. Looks like you met some great people you might not have otherwise. Safe travels 👍
I question that woman's sanity at times, I stopped following her after her debacle in Peru, where she tried to get herself killed by wearing a Covid mask, a complete lack of intelligence...in the 3rd World ,blend in...I've a low idiot threshold
Brilliant video and sorry about your wallet. You were meant to meet this family though and you have friends for life now. They are wonderful people. I firmly believe things happen for a reason. Take care Gary and looking forward to your next chapter….👌🏍️🎥🇮🇪
Videos are getting so good! Was so hoping that you would find your wallet as the awesome vibe from the wonderful people ( now friends for life) was willing it. Sadly it wasn’t to be but truly good people in Argentina 🤘Happy travels Gary
I really thought it was going to be a happy ending, and in a way it was, some of the best times of an adventure come from adversity. What a story teller you are.
Hi Gary, on Saturday the 14th at around 3:00 pm I was at that intersection and then I went to Laprida, and I filled up with fuel at that gas station. We didn't cross paths by chance. It's really amazing...
Good move keeping an extra bank card in another pocket or bag, just in case. I do that too when travelling, been lucky so far. Wouldn't be an adventure without some mishaps! Wonderful group of people helping you out, that was nice to see.
Wow. The Argentine folks seem like genuine wholesome and sincere people. Beautiful country too. Enjoying your adventure with you.Sorry about the wallet though
Shame about the wallet, but meeting great people is priceless. Hopefully, cancelling the cards should limit any issues, and the adventure will be epic 😊
Sorry about your wallet man. I know how that feels, these days my wallet is either on a chain OR in a zipped pocket because I learned the hard way myself. Good to see that it didn't dampen your spirits and of course it helps that you ran into nice peeps. Hopefully no more unpleasant surprises for the rest of the journey, fingers crossed. rsm8 (PS: Nice touch with Fleetwood Mac at the end, love it)
Feel for you mate, hope all gets sorted, it happened to me now my wallet is changed and zipped in my riding Jackets. 😮 The people you have met are so nice, u believable 👍👍
That is a shame about your wallet but it was also a bit clumsy on your part. Always check for phone, keys and wallet before setting off anywhere. I suppose the silver lining to this bad situation is that you met some great people and made some memories that you won't forget.
What's going on Gary, "Itchy Boots"had her bike knocked off in Iraq and your wallet in Argentina. Take care out there mate and I personally got into the habit of every single time I got on my bike travelling around Europe, it was feel for the wallet, mobile phone, passport and sight my spare key, every single time. What are your thoughts on the KOVE at this point in your travels?
Hi Glen! Yeah I saw what happened to Itchy, to be honest hers sounded a lot more stressful! As a couple of others have now mentioned, I think a chain to the wallet might be the way to go as it is one item used so frequently in tolls etc. The Kove is brilliant. I recently did some off roading, cant wait to upload the footage.
Same here Glen,, I did a 30days round europe trip this summer,, and yeah I had the same routine,,, I think in a Third world country its even more important then the bike,,,passport and wallet ,then the bike
@@lipsee100 HI Lipsee, I keep a Aussie 2002 GSA in Europe and have done a number of trips from four months to six weeks. I just got into that routine of never leaving a site, petrol station, cafe, hotel room whatever without doing that physical check. It became a bit OCD but it was the only way for me to be happy before moving off plus an idiot check of every room I stayed in, hang up from my old band days.😆😆
@@glennmorrissey2529 Oh thats what Iv got,OCD,,,yeah I,v been round europe a few times myself but on my 2005 RT (I wish it was a GS) This summer I wild camped just about everywhere,,,leaving a pitch you,v just got to have a good look around ,,I bet Gary was really kicking himself anyway he seems to have got away with it,,bet his mum gave him what for... ,,The weather in the UK is shit as allways so I,m tempted to go to Argentina myself..regards
101 of bike touring: Don't lose your bike keys. Don't lose your wallet. Don't lose your passport. Plus an upgrade - don't lose your phone. All the rest is fairly fluid.
Buddy why you rent out for just a night a whole apartment .. or did you stay longer there, no right? So you just need a bed and finish. Try safe money, then you can make this trip even longer. I did that 10 years ago for 14 month .. but I keep it simple and did not burn too much money this way... sllep on a couch by this nice guys who invited you for dinner ..
Brilliant episode. Argentina has the most beautiful people. ❤ I can't wait to visit in the future.
Class editing too gar 🎉
Thank you :)

The kindness of strangers is something that will stick with me also and something I will also now try pass on
Wonderful people! Best Ambassadors for their country! This is really touching! … and the outro of this episode is particularly well done! Kudos!
Thanks Oliver. Glad you liked the outro!
Oh Gary! This family represent how the Argentinians are! Nice chapter in our country. I’m sorry for the lost of your wallet.
Thank you! I am enjoying Argentina and your people so much :)

100% Agree. The people are kind by nature

Hi Warren, I am really enjoying it :)
It seems like your negative experiences have a lovely silver lining! It's awesome how you are rolling with it and making memories 🔥
Thank you. Yes, it was amazing how it went form something so negative to something so positive
Probably didn’t feel like it but I think it was worth losing that wallet to meet those generous and hospitable people. Probably the best way to learn the language totally immersed with the people.
I agree Mark. On the drive leaving the town those are my thoughts exactly!
Incredible how good people can be when given the chance. Your trip is inspirational, more power to you big lad.
Thank you
Sorry for your wallet Gary, but better a wallet with blocked cards then the bike ! Have a nice ride 🍻
Agreed! I am very impressed with the AirTags so I have ordered extra ones for the bike to hide in several different spots ;)
what an episode... life needs to be lived.
never stay without moving
Thanks Jam! and very much agreed!

The people often make the journey very worthwhile with lasting memories beyond the amazing scenery.

Argentina is on my bucket list, what a beautiful culture and country. Will you go to Tierra Del Fuego ?
I am no longer planning to go all the way south. I will stop at bottom of route 7 in Chile and then head north
Absolutely class, what kind people ❤
Nice one Danny
Wonderful people. Argentina has a great future ahead.
Just awesome man!

Thanks Paul. All the Argentinians I have met have been amazing
Laprida's a very special place with special people. Bikes are a family, not just transport.
Agreed!

Thanks Chris
What great people the Argentinians are! Did you know them or were they complete strangers? To help out like that is really cool.
Ah, should have waited till end! But you’re right, amazing generosity, does the soul good to see there are good people out there!
Yep, We had never met before! Amazing people!

I could tell that it would be a waste for searching for this wallet, on the other hand you made friends and had a good time as well.
I got my tag back! They were great guys
