I was really sad for her, but so glad when she claimed the floor gold. Now she’s retired with two floor world golds and Olympic bronze!! A true legend.

why why why do all the commentators always say Elizabeth instead of her actual name of Elsabeth??? how are they able to pronounce all the other names from various countries but they can't pronounce a name of their native language even at all properly?! ugghhhh. I find it infuriating.

It’s these BBC commentators in particular. The NBC commentators actually do get it right when they use her full name (though that is rare as they usually refer to her as Ellie- her nickname). This is a common theme for most commentators, butchering many names.

NBC may be more harsh at times, but at least they get most of the names correct and give accurate element names and are informative. This is, at times highly UNinformative.

I do like the bbc coverage and watch often. The thing I do like about NBC coverage are: they know the routines beforehand, they give you the back stories, which always seem positive. Example, who knew shin Chong (spelling?) competes to help support her younger brother’s medical bills). It’s just an example. One thing I love about sports are not always the events themselves but the interviews with the athletes. Overcoming, determination, and passion for their chosen sports. I think NBC does a great job with those things IMO

The worlds after the olympics is an indivual worlds, no team final. Only the aa and event finals

How so? She FELL off beam!! She’d be the first to tell you she cost herself an AA medal (most likely gold) in this competition.
