    Clarification: I mentioned dopamine being the "pleasure and reward" chemical but I have learned this is not completely accurate - it is more of a chemical for reinforcing behaviours and motivation.

      you said that 99% of your symptoms of depersonalization have gone away. Now are they completely gone? and if not, which symptoms persist?

    I feel like i have accepted dp/dr and learned everything about it and want to recover but no matter what i do im still severely depersonalized even though the inital trauma or anxiety has been taken care of.

      I can suggest looking into the following:
      1. There could be something you are experiencing that is continuing to trigger stress and anxiety -i.e the fight/flight response. 2. Negative emotions themselves could be keeping it going. 3. Negative emotions from trauma may still be suppressed in your body and need to be released - look into the letting go technique by Dr David Hawkins for how to do this. 4. Subconscious fears / negative thoughts are triggering it - consider trying sleep affirmations for anxiety/self love/abundance for at least a month. 5. There could be other suppressed traumas you may not have discovered yet. Try to see if there is a pattern in when the symptoms get worse that could give you a clue as to what the origin could be. These are all things I did/experienced which helped. The last video I did on DP/DR mentions some of these as well. Hope this helps.

      @@MentalHealthPower what if its just the strange feelings of depersonalization that i cant get over and that itself is fuelling more dp/dr/dissociation and keeping me in it. What kind of approach would i have to use for that?
      This all started after one panic attack 8 months ago.

      That is also a possibility yes, very true. The approach for fully accepting the symptoms and experience would be the mindfulness/meditation approach. This trains us to be able to fully experience it yet not fear it, which in turn stops fueling it. At least that was how it worked for me when I started a daily meditation and mindfulness practice a few years ago.

    There is an axis called the gut-brain axis where our gut can control our mood and simultaneously, our mind can control our gut - they're both interlinked so it's important to address both.

    There is science behind requiring more spice - we get a dopamine hit each time our taste buds experience spice. Our taste buds are craving that dopamine hit - not exactly the spice itself.
