  • Here I did a complete front brake job on my 2004 Dodge RAM 1500 pickup for less than $100 with new rotors. An easy and cheap do-it-yourself project that requires minimal tools.

By FAR, the best step by step video I've seen! Now, after watching many vids, I feel confident to replace the brakes myself. Great job! Thanks!

After you're done with the brake pads, pump your brake peddle to push the caliper back into "ready" position. If you dont, it's likely that it may take a few seconds to engage while you're in motion (I speak from experience!😣)

I had the same problem with my Hood and found that an old man Walker worked really nice for that nothing wrong with a stick either. After many years I changed those lifters and to this day still forget but it's going to open up by itself. For people that wonder why anyone would wait so long for me it was cost I had to wait until the price was right. I'm watching your video right now in hopes it will motivate me to do the same thing only this time I won't have to do the rotors most of the time they look like yours though. My one word answer is oops with a capital o.

Thanx for the informative video. I replaced the rotors and pads on my truck today, and it was relatively painless. One note though for people using the Duramax Gold pads from Autozone; re use the old clips. The clips in the kit do not fit a 2003 Ram 1500.

      Cankuwicasa...and my fucking '04! lol
      Dodge's are POS!!
I have a folder 2" thick of parts I've bought and replaced...the list goes on and on.I take great care of this truck, had it since it was new and never beat it. Chicks rarely beat vehicles the way guys do. Most are too scared. It makes me sick how many things I have had to replace on him. Tail lights...shit...I've replaced the TAIL LIGHT, not the bulbs, on both sides 3X each side. Keep getting water in them. Doesn't matter if it's OEM or original. My year truck has been nothing but a source of constant work. Fucking thing..still love him though...idiot..lol

Great video, the best part is the woman cheering you on. I would highly recommend you replace those piston seals, they've obviously failed 7:59 and once dirt gets up in between the piston and the housing it's going to do some serious damage to those machined surfaces, not too mention that's a likely cause why the pistons aren't floating back and causing the premature wear on the pads, and your job this time. If you don't get them now, you'll be looking at replacing it all, and that's expensive. Easy enough to replace the seals now, and save some $$$$$ down the road.
