Seems like only in America would you think to smuggle a knife into a venue by disguising it as a gun.
Lol exactly
Exactly🤣🤣🤣🤣
Talk about tarded eh
Well, ofc cuz you can take down a plane w/ boxcutters but a gun...well, that's just protection.🤠
I love how these comedians support each other.
Yes it's like they're all in one big privileged club.
Oh wait....
"It was a knife that identifies as a gun." LOL!
He's right about Chris Rock's composure after the slap. It was extraordinary positive self-talk. Will Smith? He couldn't have done anything more to damage his own reputation. And it's one he's unlikely to be able to repair ... ever.
Much like Tom Cruise, I can no longer watch anything with Will Smith in it. 🗿👽🗿👽🗿
But it was an obviously scripted event.
@@truthwillout2371U can’t b serious.
@@marklar7551 I didn't even know Cruise had beef with Will Smith. Did he give a reason?
@@truthwillout2371 Are you a bit slow? It was not scripted!
He's right about Chris Rock. It takes a hell of a guy to handle a situation like that in the way that he did! As disappointing as Will Smith was, Chris Rock was even more impressive!
He was still humiliated though. Feel so bad for Chris. I think shak should have kicked wills ass to teach him a lesson.
Not really seeing as they both read the script before hand.
@@TheFrazer690 Are you a bit slow?
Haven’t seen Jimmy in this light before. He’s quite a gem. He’d be a good bloke to have a pint or two with and listen.
lmfao knife that identified as gun!!!
He stole that joke from Dave, probably on accident, but yeah.
@@bricktop7352I was going to say the same thing! Dave said it first and it was HILARIOUS!
What if he had a gun that identified as a knife would that be more dangerous 😳 😂
@@bricktop7352 i was wondering if he or Dave came up with that, like if he sold it to Dave
@@bricktop7352 If Jimmy was there, you never know who said it first? Jimmy might have said it backstage to Dave, & Dave stole it from Jimmy for his act?... Or maybe neither of them said it first & it was someone else backstage... & Jimmy & Dave stole it from them? Or maybe they have both just had the same funny thought & nobody stole it. I doubt there's many things in the world that just one person has thought about. Happens all the time, I see a story online, have a quirky thought about it. Then when you go to write that quirky thought, you see someone else has beaten you to it. Now if you write it, ppl think you stole it from the first guy, when you just had the same thought as they did.
'so, you're saying you can say something and not mean it'..........I like that...That's good
I love it when people who can make the most biting and cynical remarks ever, show their respectful and humble side. Carr is quite a remarkable man himself
Because it's the smart people that can recognise the difference between the noises coming out of our mouth and actual intent.
It's self righteous puritans that just want to be outraged about arbitrary shit that are silent when real abuse is happening.
See organised religion/christians/etc
If you removed every single item that offended someone, then there would be absolutely NOTHING left.
Censorship is something that people need to understand on a deeper level. History has many examples, none of them end well.
There's a difference between offending someone from their actions n offending someone based on who they are, how they were born n what they can't change.. n yes trans ppl are born that way
Interviewing technique, tone of voice, charisma amongst many other qualities! One of the best journalists in the world imo.
His new special was fascinating. I didn't love it from a comedy perspective, but I found it a really interesting study of Jimmy as a man. All I could think while watching it was I really enjoyed how feminist he came across in it. That was awesome. He's a real shock comedian and says some really dark things in there that the average person who (I believe) aligns with his world view would complain about him. Well done Jimmy!
That dude that attacked him Isaiah Lee was also charged with attempted murder. He stated he won’t see his kid until old until convicted. Probably should have thought about that before you attacked people. His kid deserves better.
Love your work, and honesty, always Jimmy
Carr is one of the best to ever do it
So insightful: the mask slipped off.
"it strikes me that..."
lol
Plus, Chris Rock delivers with more energy than any other comedians. He moves all over the stage, in command.
Well done! Cheers!!!
Beautiful stuff ❤❤❤.
"Will Smith might be the greatest actor of his generation; he's acted like a completely different person for the last 40 years," has got to be one of the most damning assessments I've heard about that incident yet. Spot-on and absolutely brutal-- exactly why we love Jimmy Carr.
Love Jimmy Carr! ❤️
I love it... Jimmy was amazing.
Great conversation with a brilliant comedian. Delighted his favorite comedian is mine as well. Yes to Chris Rock, then Jimmy Carr, then ... well, too much talent out there to choose from, but these two I've named are both fearless and terrific!
Geez my second watch of Jimmy Carr on this show. Just love what he's got to say, especially about Chris Rock as a comedian and Will Smith dropping his mask after 40 years.! Thanks for this.
American music moguls, rappers and comedians seem to be tearing each other apart right now. Maybe some end up in jail. Will Smith's slap 100% rang the bell on crazy - but that crazy seems to have been happening behind closed doors for decades
It still upsets me when I think about that slap.
Chris should never have had to endure such humiliation. It's disgusting what Will did, for no reason. I still feel Chris should've sued him.
However, I also understand that people make mistakes, but it proves Will's not the person he's been portrayed as for thirty years. He's hidden his psycho well. He had plenty of time to stop and reconsider his actions before he got to Chris. He also did it on such a big stage, which means it will follow him everywhere, indefinitely.
That slap was definitely more humiliating for Will than Chris 😂😅
I can't imagine how traumatizing that would be. On stage as a man with a theatre of A-list celebrities in stunned silence staring at you.
I used to look up to Will Smith, collected all his DVDs. One of the biggest disappointments I've seen, disgusting.
@@enbonj5842 I can't bare to watch or listen to anything with will Smith in and it's not a choice.
Yeah i think Will Smith will be that idiot forever now, he's got what he deserves.
The reaction of the audience pissed me off just as much as smith himself, denzel and co comforting and supporting smith like he was a victim, then all giving him a standing ovation when he collected his award
One of the greatest actors of our time, So deep.
Jimmy is such a G , I love him.
I never liked Jimmy Carr, always thought he was a bit of a knob,
I don't even remember why?
Maybe I changed, or watching him chat about the tax thing, being cancelled, describing what he felt about who he though his friends were,
Either way I have a new found respect for him and feel he's actually a bit of a Legend.
Also Big thank you to Steve for being another legend who always has thought provoking content on his show.
So, a good knob?
Why should one have to apologise for what he deems to be comical or his common belief... i say its what makes a difference is this man ability to stand up and says what he means and means what he says .. ❤🇦🇺
Love Jimmy
Jimmy Carr is a legend. He is brutal, but hilarious.
Behind every joke, there is a hidden meaning.
For some reason I always felt that Will Smith was deep down an angry person. At the time I couldn’t put my finger on it. Awhile back I brought his book and how he spoke about his father being a very hard bastard almost confirmed it for me but again didn’t connect the dots. Then the slap happened and I was not at all surprised, I was kind of expecting him to show his true colours one day. It doesn’t help that his wife doesn’t respect him but hey who am I to say who is wrong or not, we all cut from the same cloth and can be just as bad or worse
Hes felt like a coward and somewhat want to be tough guy his whole life.
Exactly the same thing with me. I read the book and thought “huh, that didn’t seem very ‘Will Smith’, seems like a different person in this book” then BANG, all the dots connected
100% ON Chris Rock
I thought he would have said Sean Lock..
Didn’t have this in the 70’s, can’t imagine Bernard Manning having someone rushing him onstage! 😳
Kennedy got shot in the 60s tho and then later Regan too and the Pope. Then that dude flew a machine into a boxing match!
Somehow I feel comedy wasn't as hard back then. Comedians stayed rather polite.
You have to be joking!@@trikkke11
Because Manning only did gigs in the sorts of places that would like his comedy after he got removed form mainstream TV. The last 15+ years of his stand up he only did in his own social club.
He is my favorite
Funny how media don’t let you know this ??
using a legal gun to hide an illegal knife 😂
*Getting attacked. The guy belonged to that community too. Well done on proving him right yet again.*
Threat: Do you like hospital food Jimmy?
Jimmy: I'm with Bupa, it's delicious 😂
How can he slap?!? @6:29 IYKYK
Genius
I wonder if Chris Rock knows that Jimmy’s son is named after him? Partially named after him. Lol
I'm very surprised Chris Rock is favourite comedian, although I do agree he handled the Will Smith slap incredibly well.
Some of the venues Jimmy would have played, esp in the early part of his career, are no strangers to violence. Not saying it doesn't happen to other artists - bands were notorious for getting into fights with audience members on both sides of the Atlantic - but the stats tell the story in many British towns.
It makes sense... But i never expected to see Jimmy and Dave to have had the opportunity to meet and mix and i know jimmy has that edge but he's retained an element of public acceptability that they are trying to deny Chappell. Nice that he has retained artistic solidarity in the face of supposed "pc"
That slap was such bs, will was laughing 2 seconds before
No Jimmy. It shouldn’t be apart of the game though, you are comedians and what you say is supposed to be taken as a joke. If you go to a comedy show and take to heart what’s been said, then you don’t understand the setting in which you have placed yourself in.
Jimmy. Mate. Why are you looking more and more like Spock every year?
I was thinking he looked like he had gotten his wish to be a real boy

Wasn't Will Smith V Chris Rock an Illuminati heavyweight title fight?
100% agree with Jimmy. Will Smith is dead to me. I won't watch another movie he's in, which is a shame because I liked him before the SLAP. Chris has always been funny and I will continue to appreciate his humour, moving on.
Carr is terrific, always. You are fodder for sleep.
This is what happened from the Will Smith debacle. There are people that feel so low that they look for a way to become notorious in a sense. So when Will Smith slaps a comedian and it gets to the top page of what they perceive as valuable, they go and try to do it. It is not 100% crazy but it is predictable in that sense. If you got it to where everyone was talking about a teddy bear in a seat at a comedy show, there would be about 5-10 people doing the thing around the country. You could literally get these people to do anything except for them to get help. Cause that costs 10k and it has to come out of their pocket.
Is it that Will Smith was an unbelievable actor or that his ex wife put him in unbearable circumstances?
From what I can see it's more of the latter, but since it happened on a big stage, no one's gonna believe the latter as a possibility.
It’s because WS lost control and assaulted a person on stage in public in front of millions of viewers. WS put himself in his own circumstances. He chose his own path just like everyone else.
Right. His wife MADE him commit an act of violence. OK. 🙄
Neither is true
definitely the latter
dont go to Scotland Jimmy... someone can feel POTENTIALLY offended....
Only Huns in Scotland are offended by Jimmy, and his Catholic upbringing
I'm sure that people at the world's most famous comedy festival are not too concerned with this poorly thought out legislation.
@5:46 Re: Chris Rock, maybe he has changed but back when I use to watch him, i found he would overly repeat joke set ups just to give time before the punch line, I found that to be kinda boring and slow. Like I heard you the first time, don't need to repeat it 5 times, but for the fact you need 30sec before the joke drops.
All Will Smith proved with that slap, is how much better of a person Chris Rock is, then Will Smith and the rest of the lowlifes that clapped for it. Glad the world got to see, so we know as well.
Sure, we can laugh about how someone in the US would disguise one weapon as another. "Only in 'Merica !" lolol
But, the growing division , the unending violence, and the normalizing of all it, is rotting the foundations of life.
The "slap" was CAP!
Jimmy’s new special was ok , not his best work. Also im not sure on his new style either but i guess he’s still growing. And one thing that is now starting to piss me off with Jimmy and Ricky (who are both my favourites) is constant references or poking of cancel culture….. and i don’t believe for a second that either fear it so it just seems like a engineered topic to get themselves the “edgy” badge. Both have just produced their weakest Netflix specials in my opinion but i believe that is more a reflection of social times and both will evolve or just move through these boring vanilla times.
Or an easy get out/ready excuse when the career might have peaked and audiences want something else. Fashions in comedy happen just as much as anywhere else..
Chris Rock may have some good jokes but I can’t handle the voice and being yelled at with every joke.
Same here. It's an American thing but prior and Murphy shout the loudest and never found their stand up funny but see no evil hear no evil is my favourite comedy film and Eddie in his early films is 80s gold.
Again people ( even if your an actor ) shouldn’t be able to get on stage unless invited
Hilarious knife identity crisis
Will was trying to be a tough guy, like people were supposed to be intimidated & / or impressed. Pathetic.
Yes, having a comedian rushed and threatened on stage is out of line, yet here we are scratching our heads about big money performers having to deal with crazies With Security All Around Them.' What's nuts to me is women, men, children are being quietly violated behind closed doors at home everyday and the book isn't being thrown at the domestic violators. There is no equal governing when it comes to social economics. Topics like this doesn't make me feel empathy for the celebrity.
Fucking too right best comment of the year 🎉 at least someone smells that coffee. Fuck em all and their million dollar security. Wana be rich and famous deal with the shit that comes with it let's be honest you can afford it so deal with it shit heads
Was the knife a apache were they get a 38 take off the grip replace with knuckle dusters then cut the barrel and add a blade it can shoot but only very close up and if the bullet dosent do enough damage you stab with the blade scary if it was an apache... Hope Dave is well. Love this channel by the way.
That slap was a joke
Will Smith is band from the oscars because I joke I guess then
Ya, sure, weirdo. 🙄
Dave got attacked because his humor is opening the eyes of the people to evil. If your eyes are open you might not get talked off a cliff.
In a way, your comment makes me see Dave as a modern-day Oscar Wilde. Chilling violence.
Lol
Yep. Truths scary.
He seemed more than happy to give Waco Jaco a free pass on the child abuse stuff... not sure how that is opening peoples eyes to evil.. more like closing them.

Who cares? He wanted to get a reaction, well he got one.
The whole Chris Rock / Will Smith thing was so blatantly orchestrated. 🙄 So, in a way, I kinda do agree with Jimmy about him being a great actor - But not in the same sense.

While it's true that you can make an offensive joke and "not mean it", we shouldn't ignore the fact that you can make a joke with malicious intent. A joke can be a very convenient way to disguise hate speech.
