I did every step right except when I hit "Inject" the menu tells me:
OpenXR not loaded: Could not create openxr instance: -2
OpenVR not loaded: openvr_api.dll not found
Please select OpenVR from the loader if you want to use OpenVR
I'm running on i7 2600k with RTX 4070 (CPU super old and weak but my PC runs every AAA in 4k 60+ with no issues)
Is there a fix to this?
will it work on any ue games?
I just mentioned Praydog's vr injector to my GTX 1070, and it immediately overheated.

This is such a game changer. I will finally get a gaming PC and quest 3 when the nvidia super gpus release. And will have to donate to PrayDog when i do. We all should to show our support for such a selfless good deed to release this for free! What a legend.

My disappointment though when i realized GTA5 and RDR2 are not unreal engine. I actually only had a few unreal titles. Mostly unity.

PD has always done a lot VR mods. Now when he say he probably going to be featuring the UEVR injector mod quite a lot on his channel, I believe that's an understatement.

Do you think you could talk them into shifting the 'playability column' to position 2 right next to the name of the games? I look like I'm spectating a tennis tournament when I'm reading it hahaha
Edit: Nevermind, turns out the first column is 'frozen' so you can scroll to the right and get whichever two columns you want to be side-by-side

You might get better performance by using your Rift S without Virtual Desktop. Just confirmed that i can run an older title like dragon quest 11 on an old codger 1080ti with no drops at 1.400 on the res scale which is pretty close to 2.5k per eye. Good news for people with older GPU's. Runs this older title really well anyway

need a really beasty PC for this mod it seems ... my pc just can't handle that much power :D maybe some older games work better for me.... robocop runs at around 5 frames XD
I tried the UEVR mod on ALIEN and Its amazing!! but I wanted to fix my cam view a littel but stillx to new txo the software uploaded some profile i found in the Discord, works but that xstill needed some fixing, I hope to learn all the settings to add my games profiles
Are you still running the 3080 ti. Ive tried the injector mod with my 3080 ti but performance is average. I tried lowering in game graphics settings put it doesn't improve very much

First off, great tutorial, I'm new to the channel.
Second, will my i5 12th generation 12400f CPU, 4060 GPU, and 32 GB of ddr5 ram handle this? I don't need to play with ultra-high settings, low settings would be fine. I really want to experience some of these games in VR.

Does this only work with steam games? trying to play deliver s mars but its on the epic game store. Cant get it working

Has anyone tried the FSR3 frame gen mod with this? That might make this a smooth experience on the 3080/3090

Call me crazy but I tried it in first person and went back to third person right away… just too intense for me
In say 2027, or when a PS6 launches, will a 4090 card cost around £500? Does the card become last gen level hardware at that point, or will a PS6 in the future not even match today's 4090? I've never built a PC (yet), as you can probably tell.
Has anyone else had the issue of the 'UEVRBackend.dll' file being quarantined by their virus protection?
Its a false positive, the file is safe.

I love both in VR
Doesn't work on these, tried 3 games no success,tried Transim world 3,train life sim and spacebourne 2 also Bus sim 2. It's extremely hard to launch uevr when the game is running. I have to use the windows key then search for uevr to execute it on top of the game.If I did get to vr the Quest 3 controllers were useless and movement very difficult.
Are these games on the EUVR list? And if so are you followig the guides for THOSE games on the Discord. Each game supported has a Card and INFO.
I was certain he wasnt going to release it. He rly is doing it at the last day of the year though.

Thanks just got this working after going through a few guides, it's awesome. Tried it out on Little Nightmares.
Had to stop my PC deleting the main Injector file because of a Trojan warning though.
Hopefully PrayDog isn't doing a dirty on us. Got loads of their other mods, best one doing it and keeping PCVR alive.

Dr Greg on his channel last night he streamed Atomic Heart with UEVR and Index controllers.
I for the life of me cannot get this to work lol. It will inject but stay in desktop screen mode. Am I missing something?
TRy the -nohmd command in the games properties, or turn off cinema mode in Steam.
which file do I need to run exactly for this mod to initialize? there is no run file shown so I have no idea what to select you already have it open and running at the beginning of the video, please help us with step 1

virus checker keeps deleting the backend . dll file. how important is this file , is it safe.
Its safe you need to tell your Virus Checker its fine.
Im just downloading aliens fireteam elite and i could do with knowing where do i get the endevour profile from that PD uses here?ive only tried little nightmares and the only thing i had to change was setting it to use synchronised sequential in the unreal part of the settings so it ran smooth (it ran really jittery before).thanks

yes its becuase you are resting your thumb on a sensor that emulates the D-PAD on a Game Controller. You could try to rebind that key or train yourself not to rest your thumb there!

Ok I’m going to try this out! I set up the 3D reshader and played kingdom come, but it’s just not anywhere near as immersive as proper VR mods. So I’m hoping this is the answer!

I've just downloaded the zip file and tried to extract it but windows defender is reporting a trojan (Win32/Convagent!ml) in the file UEVRInjector.exe
Is this really a trojan or a false flag?
False flag, the more people that download it the less it will be flagged.
I came here for this same question, Defender is working fast and has deleted the exe 3 times before I even get a chance to allow it... I'll give it a few hours and try again.

A lot of these things get flagged as a virus. You can trust it.
His 9700k is a 3700x equivalent. In VR your CPU is more important than a GPU.
Your cpu has to render two frames, one for each lense on your headset...a gpu you can turn down settings....cant do that with cpu that's already maxed out with double the work and it has to render those frames within the frame times of your resolution. The days of just upgrading a GPU in some old system, are looooong gone.

Mine isn't finding any games, even the ones Rai Pals tool says will work. One I tried, that Rai Pals tool said was unreal engine, the UEVR said it's not an Unreal engine game. So frustrating ..
Only compatible with Unreal Engine games version 4.8 upwards according to some sources.

My AVG told me UEVR have Virus.
No its safe, lots of us have been using it for almost a year without any problems. It's a false trigger, just exclude it in your virus checker.

My graphics card is a RTX-3080TI which works with all my VR ready SIM Racing games and I also run some non VR games in VORPX. So I shall see if my graphics card can do the UEVR injection for any UNREAL games I would like to try. I shall see.
Planning on getting a Quest 3 soon. Right now I am using the Oculus Rift S on META.

PD, if I'm not mistaken, I believe AV1 10-bit codec is a setting exclusive for the 40 series Nvidia GPUs and their AMD counterparts. A 3080 ti shouldn't be able to handle that, so maybe drop it down to H.264+ instead. It might improve performance until you upgrade.
I thought it had more to do with the Quest 3 wireless PC VR? Isn't that the way Quest 3 sends? (And perhaps I am mistaken!; ) hello happy new year!
@@NextWorldVR 40 series cards can use the AV1 codec for compression, which the earlier cards can't do. Just a new feature for the new cards. And Happy New Year to you as well!

What does AV1 codec feature do for VR games? Isnt that for video editing or rendering videos?
@@ravenstarfire8816 it's just how it encodes/decodes the signal. With AV1, you get better image quality at the same bit rate as HEVC while also being more stable.
And without a 40 series card, the image won't be much better and you're stuck at 200mbps.

Hey PD, this is awesome, thanks so much for putting out this video, I'd heard about it via your channel a few weeks ago and forgot all about it. I've just been playing Train Sim World 4 in VR !! It's a game changer, OMG !!! Took a little bit of tweaking but thanks to your video and some trial and error ( about 15 minutes of trying different settings ) I got it working, started on low graphics, then medium and now high. Then had to work out how to bring the user interface info closer as it was almost unreadable , managed to work out how to bring it closer, you know the speedo, distance to station etc....adjusting the cylinder distance on the sliding scale, it's really easy to do and works a treat !! Just taken a break to leave this comment. Thanks so much mate and of course massive thanks to the developers of this awesome mod !! PS...had to extract the UEVR files into one of my other nvme drives and it worked, before that it wouldn't work. PPS...Here's to a great 2024 of all things VR PD !!! cheers again, Daz, Leicester.

I think you will be Ok with a lot of games and a 4070.
I got a 3060ti recently. Until then I ran EVERYTHING on a GTX 970 and the experience was solid. Your 4070ti will push around VR graphics with no problem, likely at full-on settings and even over-resolution. The '60's and '70's are always the best values from NVidia, and the 4090 is a test to see how much someone will pay.
@@chaosordeal294 oh I've only got a measly 2080ti, was thinking a 4070ti would be the minimum worthwhile upgrade for UEVR (and MSFS). That's a good point about the 4090, it seems the 4080 and 4070ti are the best value. What were you playing on the 970? My old 1080ti was barely enough for heavier VR titles, but UEVR is going to be a lot more demanding as these games aren't optimised for VR. I'll probably stick to older titles for now as PD suggests.
@@Verociity4080 in my rig and it handles pretty much every game I’ve thrown at it in UEVR at slightly super Sampled res. And med/high settings at 72hz. 4070ti should be good just a bit lower res or settings.
@@clobbyhardy Does it struggle at 90hz? I was thinking it might even be good enough for 120hz. I'd only expect to use 72hz in MSFS.
So the Injector is NOT FREE if you have to buy a Nvidia 4090 card 😮 to use it 😢
And you need to buy a car if you want to use gasoline! Or stick riding your bike(cheapass quest owners)

@@TallWestEddy I have hardware limitations with luke Ross's mod looks very blurry, if I increase the resolution my computer crashes. I see that my pc with praydogs mod has better performance.

Try turning off cinema mode.
