It’s fascinating seeing how many characters in this show (and in real life) are willing to ignore their moral compass and betray their principles for money and power
Honestly I think there is no moral compass in play here, politics are part of their identiy but it's ultimately irrelevant. What kinda gets forgotten is that Tom wanted to get in front of the scandal, but Gerri nipped that in the bud with the help of Greg. Then Gerri wants to get in front of this, and it gets nipped in in the bud by people higher than her, it's a never ending stream of people covering their arses and tainting others in the process.
The thing this show does so well is it makes you anxious and feel bad when justice is served to these monsters. The characters are so human and well written that, even though they're the worst people on earth, you feel for them deeply when they fail.
I read a breakdown in The Cut about the power dynamics in Shiv's fashion (something Maple mentioned with color theory in season 1) and the subtle way they show the difference between Shiv's clothes and the accuser's clothes and how differently they're made really got me going as a fashion enthusiast lol. It's also great for the writers blended the truth with manipulation. She would be torn apart but Shiv only cares about her status with the company.
Reminding people that evil people are evil for a reason, and that they're still human. There's a lot of 'kill the rich' type rhetoric going round, its interesting to see this show become so popular at the same time. I think we want to see the humanity behind big corporations and their dodgy dealings, since for us normal people they're just a faceless behemoth that influences our daily lives. It's a kind of voyeurism that satisfies an itch no one knew they had (or at least I didn't). Going so deep into family dynamics and generational trauma is so much more relatable and realistic than other white collar dramas where they're a bunch of dudebros who 'just like to win *wink*'.
Shiv's scene in this episode is the highlight for me. She showed what she's capable of when she's actually focus. Hugo didn't even give a real advise. Wtf? Somehow the chaos is what's funny about Succession.
These sort of episodes always feel very real when you remember Jesse Armstrong's first job was as a political researcher - i feel like the character of Gil, although obviously a bernie sanders caricature has a lot in common with the MPs in his orbit
It’s funny how the show makes us root for the most horrible ppl fun fact hbo almost didn’t pick up the show cuz they were concerned there were no likeable characters
I'd say that's weird because it's HBO that produced the Sopranos. But then again the scumminess of Tony wasn't really shown until episode 8 and HBO tried to make the writers omit it. Because then he wouldn't be likeable. But David Chase wouldn't budge because that was the integrible point of the show.
The scene where Shiv meets the victim is so horrible and cringeworthy. Not because it's a bad scene, but because the falseness and manipulativeness of Shiv is so awful to watch. It's terrible what one person will do to another.
Omg. I forgot all about this episode. So painful to watch Tom in front of congress because I would be the same way. Like, I'd probably admit to assassinating JFK if I was in his shoes. That's how bad I'd screw the pooch in that situation.
Tom's interrogation was one of the hardest things to watch man, I don't think I've ever laughed that hard and cringed at the same time Also, look at my boy Kendall in his BAG!!!
I think Shiv is the most evil of the kids. Roman is a piece of shit, and Kendall is completely lost, but Shiv is as ruthless and ambitious as Logan. However, she doesn’t receive the same respect he does which makes her insecure, and in turn, behave even more cruelly.
Goddamn arianna is SMOKING hot in this video! And lets be honest, she carries this channel. Shes smart and makes great observations. She really bout this life.
How many times do these two have to say that they are not actually rooting for the acts of the characters ? I get it you have strong morals and are super progressive against any harrasment and corporate coverups blah blah blah
maybe that's not the best argument to make considering said "emotion" is rage he's facing any accountability for literal crimes committed under his watch??
Logan rages very often, but never shares a vulnerable emotion (his kids don't know about his scars, his dismissal of the therapy in s1, his evasion of all difficult talks with his romantic partners by bringing things back to transactional matters).
Imagine if Shiv, Kendall, and Roman joined forces... They'd be formidable. Sadly they are too broken to ever trust one another...
They are not serious people
And THEN imagine Mr. President Connor Roy in their corner.
Unstoppable

The scene with Shiv and the victim is so unsettling.
Connor’s reaction to Kendall’s speech was amazing. I laughed, a lot. 😂

Your uploads are now my way of rewatching the series. Very excited for next week 😂.
Jesse Armstrong is pretty much the best writer and show runner in the world with this series. His commentary with his writing is spotless.

I can’t wait for y’all to see the finale of season 2 next week!!! Has one of the best tv moments in history in it.
The entire episode is a masterpiece. Still the best in the show I think
This show is like a social experiment. The main characters are the epitome of evil they care for nothing more than themselves. And we care about them.

"You can't make a Tomlette without breaking some Greggs" 😂
"Not Greg!?" lmao yeah that's a huge and meaningful sacrifice

Loved the reaction :)
The next episode is one of the best of the series.
I was like damn they missed Greg most famous line but it’s next ep 😂
i adore your reactions to this show and the commentary. i can’t wait for all the stuff to come
Love Arianna. Great channel. So glad I found it
Same, this channel is quickly becoming one of my favs.
And why can’t the ladies touch each other? “I know we’re not allowed to touch, but I want to hold your hand…” 12:40
No Touching!!
Hay's code
green screen, it gets cut off

Wait for "This Is Not For Tears"

I didn't know anyone was reacting to this incredible show. Time to binge watch
logan said a strong name how this could be about greg 😂
This one might be my all time favorite episode
All the kids get an A+

Okay Ariana kinda ate
"Protect the egg chamber!"
Tom's interrogation was one of the hardest things to watch man, I don't think I've ever laughed that hard and cringed at the same time
Also, look at my boy Kendall in his BAG!!!
How did they leave out the Connor fist pump after the Kendall speech?!?!
Number 1 boy
wait why can’t they touch each other? like is it bcuz of covid or something?
Bummer about Mark Blum
I love Shiv I can't help it but in episodes like this she makes me feel so dirty 😂
Why you can't touch?
if you guys need a editor let me know!
I wonder why y'all only upload one episode per week. It feels too slow.Although, I do enjoy the reaction that's why I'm saying this.
Because it takes time to edit and we have other shows and movies to make also
Editing isn't as easy as it looks and succession isn't the only show they react too
@@Diegesis you're doing great!!! I love your reactions
@@Diegesis Okay, looking forward to the next two seasons however long it may take.
@@Jauja...entitled, ungrateful dick

Why aren't you guys allowed to touch?
Green screen looks dumb if they cross the barrier and cuts their hands off
this show is so funny to me i pray on every characters downfall
Idk why y’all were stressing, the hearing scenes had me DYING lmao
second hand embarrassment is a hell of a thing lol
How silly do you guys feel about hating Rhea more than any of these people
Where is “if it is to be said”???😭😭😂
next episode

SEE, Logan expresses emotions, gets called a baby...
Shame is why we don't share.

5 mil is nothing. it would be spent in a weekend by 90% of people who get it. just look at the hill-billies who win the lottery
L to the OG!
